Our view falls upon Ezra, sleeping soundly in bed with Chord sleeping on her stomach. When the little reptile woke up he gently nudged his master, the youngest Tennyson moaned a little in her sleep. After Chord nudged her again she opened up to see the lizard like creature nuzzling her nose.

Ezra giggles at her friend's antics and got up petting him, then looked around to see... an unfamiliar place. She was inside a bunk that was not in her room at home, the young girl scratched her head in confusion. Then took notice of the curtain next to her, after pulling it aside she saw a short hallway with her older sisters Amber and Wendy watching some multiverse television at a dining table. Then looked in the other direction to see Tahu and Cana talking on a couch with their two headed dragon Yin and Yang, and after looking forwards she saw her dad at the end of the hallway in what looks to be a driver's seat with her mother sitting in a rocking chair holding her brother and sister.

"Huh?" She groaned getting down from her bunk, "oh morning sleepy head" Amber greeted Ezra before gently picking her up and ruffling her hair. "Hey Ezra, did you have a good sleep?" Wendy asked the girl. Ezra rubbed some of the sleep out of her eyes and nodded, "yes I did... where are we though?" She asked before Amber showed her the window.

Which made her gasp in awe "about now, somewhere between Magnolia and Clover" Wendy answered. Outside wasn't just a still landscape, the terrain around them was moving, it reminded the young requip User. They were inside the new Rust Bucket on the road, she completely forgot.

Just last night she packed all her stuff and she and her family went on a road trip to learn more about Chord's lineage. She was very tired from having to pack up her clothes and other things she needed to and wanted to bring for the trip Ben and Erza put her into a bunk so she could rest.

Ezra awed the sight of the landscape passing by them, "interesting isn't it?" She heard her mother say. Ezra then smiled and ran to her mom, "morning mommy!" She cheered hugging her, "morning sweetie" Erza greeted back.

"Morning princess, we're stopping at one lead from Animo" Ben said making the girl scowl "why Animo? He's the one who caused Chord his pain!" She growled with a death aura emitting from her... the first time a toddler was scary.

"C-calm down Ezra" Cana tried to say "no need to go into scary mode" Tahu added. "Don't worry we made sure to get the truth out of him, he told us where he actually got Chord from" Ben said surprising his daughter. "Turns our he lied about finding him in a tree, in truth Animo found his nest and he gave us the location if your mother refrained from gutting him like a fish" he explained further.

"O-oh..." the daughter mused, "the next is just a few more miles away. We'll start our dragon investigation there and stop by Clover for supplies" Ben explained before swerving. Ben shook his head and stuck his head out the window yelling "MANIAC!!! WHO THE HELL JUST RUNS ONTO A ROAD LIKE THAT!!!! ARE YOU TRYING TO COMMIT SUICIDE OR SOMETHING!!!" He ranted.

"Woah what happened?!" Tahu asked running to the driver seat, Ben pulled his head back in and groaned in frustration "nothing just some hot shot thinking they could run across the road before the RV could reach them" he answered. Tahu looked outside the window to see the person, "oh crud..." he said "what?" Amber asked trying to see out the window. "CRUD BRO GET US OUT OF HERE!!!" He yelled surprising Ben.

"Hurry! Hurry we have to go Now!!" Ben then floored the gas pedal and began driving away, "what the heck was with you two?!" Erza scolded "I could've dropped the babies" she ranted more trying to calm Ken and Kelly down. "Sorry but this was for Chord's safety" Tahu replied as Ezra and said dragon tilted their heads in confusion.

"Trust me kiddo, that's the last person you want to see your dragon" he said, she was still confused but took his word for it. Ezra then walked to a nearby closet and found her guitar inside. "Oh there it is" she said, Chord then flew up to the instrument and knocked it off for her to catch, "Thanks Chord" she smiled. Then sat at the couch in the back of the RV, "gonna make a song?" She heard Wendy ask standing in front of her alongside Amber. "No, just gonna play a bit, it helps pass the time" she answered. Then began to play a tune, the music itself had been very upbeat, enough to make everyone forget the little traffic accident and continue on their journey.

Finally they reached their objective, what Animo had said to them about Chord's original nest was that it was only south of Clover in a forest of black trees with bright purple leaves. Trekking through the forest they'll find a large boulder and if they remove it a tunnel will be revealed that will lead to the nest. "This should be the place" Ben said as the group exited the Rust Bucket IV, "it definitely matches Animo's description" Cana remarked.

Ezra pouted again, "dumb Animo..." she muttered, "well we certainly can't bring the babies into there" Erza said walking back to the car. "I'll stay here to watch Kenneth and Kelly as well as guard the Rust Bucket" she explained, "Kay Erza, love you" Ben said making her blush.

"So looks like it's us going into there" Tahu said with Yin and Yang landing on his shoulder, "you ready Chord?" Ezra asked. He made a dragon smile and jumped on her shoulder vigorously nodding, the group then made their way through the trees.

Ezra has kept a watchful eye out to make sure nothing attacked them, "Ezra be careful, you might bump into something bad" Ben warned "sorry I'm just trying to keep my eyes peeled" she replied. Then had saw a large boulder at the end of their past, "think this is it?" Tahu asked, "only one way to find out" Amber said before Requipping into her Humungosaur Armor while Ben turned into Omni, both then pushed the boulder away to reveal a cave.

"Maybe that whack-job can be reliable" Cana commented as they all walked inside, exploring further they managed to find what they sought out. A large nest like structure made out of black wood and stone, "this must be your nest Chord!" Ezra said excitedly, just when the dragon sniffed around and walked towards the nest. With her following, "might as well see if anyone beside's Animo who's been around here" Ben said with the others following his lead. If Animo had been here, then there's no telling who else's may have came by after, even if he blocked it off with the boulder there's always the possibility.

With Ezra, she and Chord were looking inside the nest, probably expecting more dragon eggs, only to find several broken egg shells. "Maybe they all hatched already?" She asked, Chord them jumped in and sniffed the nest, then flipped out one egg shell to reveal... "EEP!!!" The young girl screamed.

Everyone stopped searching and ran to Ezra, "sweetie what's wrong?!" Ben asked, they saw her face was pale with a shocked look on her face. They looked to where she was looking and were just as shocked as her, what Chord had found... was a dragon head.... a disembodied dragon embryo head... like something had taken it off, looking around the nest they found more remains of young dragons. "D-did Animo do this...?!" Ezra asked hyperventilating, "not even he could be this cruel to animals, when we interrogated him. He warned us to be surprised by the lack off any babies because he said he only saw the one egg" Ben explained.

As Ezra began to calm down she saw that Chord was scared beyond reason, his pupils were small, he was sweating bucket loads, even his breathing increased like he was hyperventilating. The red head gently put a hand on his head in an attempt to calm it down, luckily it worked. The dragon then lushed up against her and hid his face in her shoulder, "I-it's Okay Chord... it'll be okay" she said crying with him. "Don't look you two" Cana said to Yin and Yang averting their gaze, "what would do something like this?" Ben asked before seeing Wendy trembling.

Later on we now see several stones placed next to each other in front of mounds of dirt, Ben and Tahu had decided to give the dragons a proper burial. Chord had said he appreciated it, that his siblings deserved better than this, Ezra of course had translated that for him.

We now see the gang back on the road in the Rust Bucket, Ezra and Chord snuggled comfortingly against her parents. "I can't believe you had to bear the sight of something so awful" Erza said rubbing her daughter's head.

"It wasn't a pretty sight" Amber admitted trying to rub the image out of her eyes, "those poor babies" Wendy said tearing. Cana then spoke up "how did that happen though?" She asked making everyone look to her, "how in the world could something do that to a Dragon of all creatures? As far as I knew Dragons were the strongest creatures alive. If the mother had been there why did she flee?" She asked.

"I'm not sure Cana" Tahu said driving, "but I know one thing, if I find out who or what committed that awful act. I will show no mercy" he said. Then realized something "Uh Ben... mind taking the wheel?" He asked "I just remembered I've never driven before"...

And with that Ben rushed to the wheel to take over driving, "seriously?! You never even drove a magic mobile" he asked "nope" Tahu replied. Ezra was still cuddling Chord, she wanted to unsee that sight, she desperately tried to, 'why did all those babies have to die?' She thought.

'They has such long lives to live... why?' The girl then felt a small nudge to her stomach, she then noticed Chord clenching his eyes shut with a panicking saddened look on his face. 'Well... even though your siblings may be gone Chord' Ezra thought before gently petting the creature. 'At least you survived, and by some fate you were brought to me' she hugged him again as his distraught face began to relax. "I made a promise to care for you, and I don't plan on going back on it. Not now not ever" she said before both fell asleep.

Back at the abandoned nest, two figures had walked in "I can't believe we wasted all that time getting that meat until we realized babies don't carry enough magic to create more slayers" one said.

"Oh shut up! You don't think I'm not anymore upset about this? I was looking forward to that dragon meat" the other said, this one being a girl. They looked into the cave to see that all the dragon parts were buried "the Heck?! Who got into here?!" The girl yelled, "don't ask me, seemed to be about four to six people. Three adults, two adolescents, and one child" he said looking at the foot prints.

"Wait" he said sniffing the air, then smirked "and we've got ourselves two more dragons" he added, that made his female companion lick her lips. "Oh delectable" she said before they walked out, a growl was the beard as a showdown being cast above them moved and took off.

The next day the group was in the town of Clover trying to restock on food and other miscellaneous items. Ezra mainly stayed by the RV with Chord, they still hadn't gotten over the sight from yesterday. For the first time in her short few months of life, Ezra had actually saw death, and it wasn't pleasant to say the least.

"Hey Ezra" Wendy greeted walking back with Amber, both had grocery bags in hand "oh.. hey Big sisters..." the girl greeted in a quiet voice. "Hey what's wrong squirt?" Amber asked putting the bags inside, then saw the girl turn her head. Wendy knew why and asked first "is it about... what we found yesterday?" She asked, for a moment no one said anything.

Until Ezra nodded "I'm not surprised, and I can't blame you, what we saw yesterday was wrong in so many ways" the blonde added. "Why did they have to die though?" Ezra asked sniffling, the girls sighed, though she didn't know but her older sisters knew all to well what both she and Chord were going through.

"Listed Ez"Amber spike patting Ezra's back, "I know it's tough, it's not easy to see that someone close to you had died. You probably don't know this but, dad isn't my real dad" she said confusing Ezra. "I'm adopted, meaning your dad had took me in and took care of me as if I was his own, the same with Wendy" she said as the blue haired girl nodded.

"You see, my real parents had died trying to protect me a long time ago. When I found out I was the same as you, I cried and cried, mourning over the loss of my parents. But when I needed a shoulder to cry on, it was Ben who helped me" she explained. Ezra stares at her "he reminded me that, even though my family may not be around anymore, that doesn't mean you have to stop staying strong. Because they aren't gone" Amber said before slapping her fist on her chest "they're here, even though they may have passed on. A piece of both my birth mother and my birth father exists within me, and so long as I continue to live they will also" she explained.

Then petted Chord "So Chord, even though you're siblings may not be with you now. They live on through you, in here" she then pokes his chest. "And they aren't the only ones" a familiar voice spoke, they turned to the door to see Ben walk in with Erza and Tahu. "Before I came to this world Ezra, before I even met your mother, or became part of Fairy tail. I lost my entire family, and my home, but I pushed on knowing that they still exist through me" He said, "I also lost my family, until your Uncle Tahu came back into my life, but when I was locked up and forced to build something called the tower of heaven. I had a few friends, one of which was your Grandpa Rob Who Kenneth got his middle name from" Erza explained. "When we tried to escape he gave his life to make sure at least I escaped, I was sad yes. But I knew that if I gave up his sacrifice would have been in vain" she went on.

Ezra stared at her family, they had all gone through hardships and some how pushed forward despite the pain. Chord also noticed about his new family, 'wow... my parents... my sisters... they've been through that?' She thought. Then noticed her dragon's awestruck face, after a moment she smiled and petted him "well, since I'm your daughter, if you can push through after that kind of life changing event. That why can't me and Chord?" She said as the dragon smiled also and kicked her face, the rest smiled at the girl's resolve. The girl may be young, but she has both of her parent's strength, that's when they heard yelling.

"Come our yah succulent little delicacy!" A girl voice shouted, they all looked outside the RV to see two people skulking around. One was a girl who had bright colored hair and wore a rather scandalous outfit being a bikini...

And the other was a man clad in skeletal armor, "oh crud!" Tahu said "hey that's the crazy girl who I almost hit yesterday" Ben recognized. "This isn't good, that's Kyria, a mage I met in the past" the swordsmith said, "Care to explain further?" Cana asked eyeing her boyfriend. "Kyria is a dragon slayer like Wendy Natsu and Gajeel. Only instead of being raised by one or being implanted with lacrima like Laxus, she... she got her powers... by eating one..." Tahu said which shocked everyone.

"She... she eats... dragons..." Ezra uttered, "that's why I wanted us to get away from here as soon as possible. I knew how much Chord meant to you and I didn't want you to lose him" he said. "Come on you stupid dragons!" The man said, Ben then walked up to the driver's seat "no one is gonna eat any of my family" he said.

Then floored the gas pedal before speeding down the road passing the two, "we've got to get them away from Clover so no one gets hurt and to avoid any collateral damage" Ben explained. "That's if they follow us right?" Cana asked, Tahu then looked out back "well they aren't tailing is so that's a good sign" he said.

Chord then begins growling and jumping sporadically, "what's wrong Chord?" Wendy asked when he flew up to the back window, Ezra went to see what was bothering him. Then yelped Falling Into her mother's arms, "they're they're right behind us!" She said.

Erza gasped before opening the curtain and saw the two running towards them, "I thought that vehicle looked familiar" Kyria said before her hand glowed "Blade Dragon Slash!" She then threw a blade of energy at the Rust Bucket making everyone gasp. "Drive faster!" Amber exclaimed before a bubble formed around the RV and dissolved the blade. "Lucky Kevin installed Magic resistant defenses in this thing" Ben said, Kyria saw and got angry before throwing more blades at them only to have them continuously dissolved. The eldest Tennyson smirked at her before pressing a button on the dash board. Behind the RV a port opened up to reveal several blasters.

All aimed at their pursuers, "along with this" the Omnitrix wielder then activated them which caused the weapons to fire energy bolts at the dragon eaters. "What in the?!" The skeleton armored man exclaimed before turning into ashes and avoided the attack. Then flew on top of the RV with Kyria, "we've got hitchhikers!" Cana said before she and Tahu climbed to the roof.

First she fired a card at the ash mage knocking him back, then Tahu came up and brought out his sword. "Gem swap!" A small crystal was then seen in his weapon as it suddenly lit up with fire "PYRO BLADE!" The sword's man then threw a flaming slash at her while Cana threw more cards at the skull armor.

"What the?! Oh look who it is? That nobody who thought he was too good for our Diabolos guild" the dragon eater mocked. Tahu scoffed before throwing more fire at her "say what you want but my guild is more of a family than yours will ever be" he retorted before slashing at her to which she tried to bite his blade.
Wendy and Amber then jumped out of the RV and joined the fight.

"Sky Dragon Wing Attack!!" She yelled before blasting wild wings at the ash wizard, "ah another dragon slayer, this should be interesting then" he said before charging up an attack. "Bone dragon Absolute Ash!" He chanted before creating a vortex of ash around him, "oh no you don't!" Amber retorted before requipping into her Echo Echo Armor "Wall of Sound!" She yelled letting out a deafening sonic shriek.

Dispelling the vortex, in that moment Both Ben and Erza jumped onto the roof with the former as Omni, "I'm guessing you two were the ones responsible at the nest" he said clutching his fist. "Nest? Oh so you were the ones who took that leftover egg we missed" Kyria smirked evilly, "not exactly but we are certainly not going to let you hurt anymore innocent babies" Erza said raising her sword. "Nice blade, I think I'll take it" the girl then rushed forward to eat Erza's sword only to meet an armored fist to the face.

"You shall do no such thing!" She said before they rushed her "Moon Flash!" The red head then threw a blade flash at her while Ben shot several diamond shards at the other. Kyria ate the blast but only to have Cana blast her in the back, the armored magic User was about to attack also when Tahu used his Air Gem to launch him off balance. As Kyria got back up she looked into the sky light, and unfortunately saw Ezra holding Chord tightly, "ahah! There's my next meal!" She yelled trying to reach for them only to get yanked out by Amber "hey leave my baby sister's pet out of this!" She snarled before Erza socked her in the chin.

Just when Ben appeared once more and shot water at the enemy dragon slayer and made her crash into her teammate. "Stay out of our way!" The skeleton man demanded "we shall have the dragon's power by any means necessary" he said before the group flinched, looking down they saw their bodies being turned to ash now little girl hand over that... GAH?!" He was suddenly blasted away from the sky light with Ezra flying out with Chord carrying her as if he was a Jetpack. After she did so everyone recovered from the spell he used, also she had Heat Blast gauntlets, "I won't say this again, stay away from Chord! And stay away from my family!" She said before they flew towards Kyria and got her in the jaw with an Armadrillo Hammer.

"Wendy now!" Amber yelled as she and her dragon slayer sister joined together "Requip Heat Blast!" The two then created one big Magic circle "UNISON RAID!!: HELL FIRE DEATH SPIRAL!!!" They yelled before shooting a blast of spinning flames which trapped the skull mage in a vortex he couldn't escape. "Unison Raid!" Yelled Cana And Tahu before several cards were sent to Kyria that blew up taking the shape of shackles. Which immobilized her, "this isn't over you here me! We'll still get those dragons! I can at least leave you scarred!" The crazy girl said before inhaling.

"Blade Dragon Roar!!" She sent a powerful roar down the the group, they braved for impact when something big flew in front of the blast and let out a loud roar and a strong blast which sent the two dragon eaters flying further. Thought it also had taken the blast from the dragon roar and fell to earth, "what was that?" Ben asked before jumping back into the RV.

Everyone looked to Erza for an explanation "he said it was something called an Autopilot", the Rust Bucket stopped and drove back to whatever saved them. As they got out to inspect, they were shocked at the sight, it was... a dragon... a full grown dragon. And by the looks of it's state she's been fighting for her life, "an actual full grown dragon" Cana mused "I never expected to see one in a lifetime" Tahu said equally surprised.
(It was basically in this position)

The thing made a pained growl before turning to Ezra and Chord, it saw the baby and made a cooing sound, "what's it doing?" Amber asked, Wendy was equally confused, even though she was raised by a dragon she had no idea what this dragon was doing. Then looking to Chord she saw he was drawing closer to her, her eyes then widened "guys... I... I think this dragon. May actually be Chord's mother" she said shocking the others. Ezra gently put him down as he walked to the older dragon, it looked at him, then sniffed his head before affectionately licking his face to which he did the same.

"Your chord's mom?" Ezra asked, the reptile had made a growl before licking her as well, then winced and whined. "Ezra what happened, what's she saying?" Ben asked, "she says that those awful wizards attacked her nest. Then took all her babies before chasing her out, when she came back to see if she still had any eggs left she saw fresh foot prints leading into her cave and saw the carnage..." Ezra said mortified.

The dragon then growled again "she was in so much pain, she was very sad that all her babies were gone, and she was in a lot of pain because of her injuries. And... she's..." the girl began crying again.

Wendy then put a hand on the dragon "maybe I can help, I have healing magic" she said before using it on the creature, it nudged her away. Then made a growl "she says not to, to save my strength" Wendy said desperately trying to help the poor creature. Chord chirped and cried trying to get his mother to comply with his master's sister, she only made a loud growl.

The baby cried again before rushing to Ezra, "what's wrong now?" Cana asked, "she... she's dying... she used the last of her strength to save us..." Ezra answered tearing. Ben then spoke up "I can use Clockwork's powers to reverse time on her injuries" he said "Please madam, you saved us. We owe you a debt of life" Erza said.

The creature growled once more, "she said it wouldn't matter... her clock's already reaching its end..." Wendy translated crying. The dragon made another noise, "it-it's alright..." Ezra translated, "e-even though... my life may be over... at least..." she choked up a bit before calming down. "At least I... At least I got the chance to see one of my babies... Ezra Titania Verdona Tennyson... I thank you for watching my baby, please do take care of him..." Ezra added on.

The dragon smiled before closing her eyes...

They group had brought her to her nest, and like with her babies had given her a proper burial. Though the next day they found something amazing, when Ezra and Chord went to say one last goodbye to his mother they saw the entire ground around nest had flowers growing around it in full blossom. The two were awestruck, "Ezra, Ezra where are you?" Ben called out, when he and Erza went into the cave they were stunned by all the new plants. "What's going on here?" They asked, Wendy, who had just came in with Amber spoke "woah, Grendina was right" she said.

"Huh? What was that big sister?" Ezra asked, "oh, my dragon Grendina told me that, if dragons die in peace, the ground they're either on or buried beneath starts growing all sorts of plants" The blue haired girl explained. Chord looked back at the flowers, then all of a sudden one flower got him in the face, taking it off he saw it had the same scale pattern of his mother.

"You should keep it Chord" Ezra said petting him, "it's another piece you have of her. The one inside you and that" she said, the dragon looked at it, then back at his owner. He stared into her eyes, the same eyes he first saw at his true birth, the person who adopted him.

He smiled and climbed onto her shoulder, then had placed the flower on her ear, he made a few squeaks which made Ezra blush. Then smiled back, "What'd he say?" Ben ask, "this flower belonged to my family, so I should place it with them" Wendy translated while Amber was rubbing her eye. "Hmm? Amber are you okay?" Erza asked, "huh?! What! Yeah I'm fine" she replied looking away before wiping a tear off. "Oh Amber, who knew you were such a softie" Ben teased "Hey I'm only soft for Ezra, that's it" She said blushing. The gang then got back in the RustBucket IV and drove off, with Cana and Tahu yelling at them that they missed the entire scene. Carla was also pretty angry that she missed everything.

And on their way Ezra began to play her guitar again, this time though she was singing along.

Unaware to any of them, a figure had been perched on the cliff where the nest was hidden behind. Whoever it was witnessed the entire event, and after seemed to smile at the flowers at the dragon's grave. 'She may actually be the one destined to face me, though I may have cut off all connections to her mother. I hope to meet her someday, though once that happens, I may not be so fortunate' she thought before disappearing.
