Sienna POV
It has been a view days sine Harry, Ezra, and I have gone to the beach, and the guy I met, Ian did in fact reach out hours later, which made me feel good.
We have been texting almost every day since, and it feels like a genuine conversation. I found out he is 22, and goes to college in the city. His family also has a beach house in Lake George, where he stays at every summer as well.
I have not heard from Logan since the break up. He did like one of my instagram posts and if that counts as anything then that was about it. I still feel bad about how things ended, and don't know if I should even bother making it up.
It is Friday now, and I just got off of work. I did work with Harry today, and it was a nice shift together. We didn't talk much, but when we did it was about weird customers, or new movies coming out. It is good to know that he is still a film geek and that didn't change about him.
I walk out of the shop and put my bag down at a table set outside. I double check my things, and make sure my phone, wallet, and house keys are on me. I hear the ring behind me as well, so I can only assume it is Harry leaving, or a customer entering.
"Do you have a ride home?" I hear Harry ask behind me. I turn around to face him and zip my purse shut.
"No, I was going to walk." I say honestly. Tomorrow is Ezras 6th birthday and my Mom took one of the cars to get last minute gifts and food for the party tomorrow. My dad on the other hand, had a last minute meeting in the city which is going to be an all day thing. So that leaves me carless for the day.
"I can give you a ride." Harry says while dangling his car keys in front of me.
"I have to pick up last minute decorations for Ezra's party tomorrow," I say. "I don't want to hold you up."
"I have nothing going on today, it is no problem. Also, it is supposed to rain soon, I don't think you want to be caught in that." Harry says with a snicker.
I don't argue him, I just pick up my stuff and walk beside him to his car in the parking lot in the back. "Dad's truck today?" I question when I don't see the usual black SUV.
"Yeah, he told me to take the truck, I don't know why." Harry answers.
I get into the passengers seat, and buckle myself in. The car has also had a new smell to it, despite it being old. I do love the way his parents take care of their things so they can last long. My parents on the other hand, do not do that.
"What party store did you want to go too?" Harry asks while starting the engine.
"There should be one down the road, called Molly's or something. We can see what is there." I say. He nods, and begins to back out of the parking space.
"What did you get Ezra for his birthday?" Harry asks curiously. I am surprised by the sudden conversation, usually we sit in silence and do things awkwardly with each other--hence the beach.
"I got him nerf guns, some legos, and a coloring set." I list. "All of which are going to bite me in the ass. He is probably going to shoot me with those guns all day and I am probably going to step in those damn legos around the house."
Harry laughs at my brief ranting, causing me to smile. "I got him movie tickets, which is a usual gift I get everyone. He really wanted to do the drive in movie because he knew we did it a few times so I got tickets for Cars. Then I got him some StarWars action figures and legos." Harry tells me.
"That was nice of you to get him a gift. Even though I am pretty sure the movie is more for you than him." I joke, making him snicker.
"I do love Cars." He plays along, making me smile. We soon pull into the party place, the rain begins to trickle down. "See, imagine if you were walking home." Harry points out, making my head shake.
"Oh yes, I would've started melting on the pavement." I say while opening my door.
Harry shakes his head by what I said, and I soon see his dimples on his cheeks. My face flushes for some odd reason, and I soon just get out of the car so he doesn't see.
We walk into the party shop, and hear a bell on the door as we enter. It seems to be no one else in the shop, so all the attention from the clerks are on us.
We get greeted by an older women, letting us know if we need any help to just holler. I smiled politely and said thank you.
"What is the theme of the party this year?" Harry asks beside me as I am walking down aisles of party supplies. "I know your Mom must've came up with something."
It is a known fact that my Mom goes above and beyond for our birthday parties or events in general. Our Christmas Eve party is our most known holiday because of how extravagant the party is. It is always a suit and tie event, and we have waiters, an open bar, and our backyard is always turned into some theme. Last year was Winter wonderland, and the year before was a classic farmhouse feel.
Our parties are big talk around town, that is how popular they are. The Styles family tends to come every other year, which I know makes my Mom happy. She really does have a passion for party planning and a passion for writing out the checks I suppose.
"It is space themed," I say. "It starts at like six I think. She had a whole event planner come and help this whole week. My backyard is going to be decked out and all." I explain.
"So what are we doing at a party shop?" Harry asks, with a chuckle.
"In the morning I am having a normal breakfast with normal people decorations in the sunroom." I say, making him laugh.
"I love your Moms parties, they are so fun." Harry says while picking up weird party decorations and throwing them into my cart. I nudge his chest by how he threw in a whole bib set into the cart randomly.
"Well, they become annoying real quick." I comment while looking away from his eye contact.
"How so?" Harry asks. I bite my lip, not knowing if I should comment or not.
"Never mind." I say, pulling off a fake smile.
I find a lego themed section, which is where I start grabbing plates, napkins, and cups from. They all match which all turn out nice.
"You know, Ezra likes you a lot." I say to Harry when there is silence between us. I am just looking for forks that match the color scheme I am going for.
"Really?" He questions.
"Yeah. He always talks about how much fun you guys have and how you are like the older brother he never had." I comment. Harry makes eye contact with me for a moment, and just smiles softly at me. A shadow of a dimple is surfacing on his cheek.
"Well, him and I both have bossy older sisters, so you know, I am showing him the way of life." Harry jokes, making me laugh. "But, he is a good kid, and he makes the lake house more enjoyable to be at."
My first instant is to ask what makes it not enjoyable for him. I don't ask though, because I think I know the answer.
We arrive to check out moments later, and the woman who greeted us at the door scans my items and ask if I found everything alright.
I only have two bags of things, which I am proud of. I usually buy too much shit I won't use or I just think is cool
We step outside and the rain is now much heaver and think. The rain is hitting the ground very heavily, and the roads are soon becoming flooded.
"At least the party tomorrow will have a clear sky." Harry comments next to me, making my head shake.
Thankfully, the car is not far, so we just quickly run to it, get in, and close the door.
I put my bags in the back seat, and wipe off whatever water got on my face. "Do you think we should wait to drive home until the weather is better?" I ask Harry.
"Possibly." He says while looking out the window. "The roads don't have drains so that is why I am more on the willing side to wait until it calms down."
I nod by his explanation, and lean back in my seat. I feel goosebumps rise on my skin by how suddenly cold it got I got. I didn't think I was that much in the rain, but I suppose it was long enough to get chilly.
"I have a two hoodies in the back, if you wanna wear one." Harry comments when he sees my arms hug my body for warmth.
"Oh, is it my lucky hoodie that Logan saw?" I joke, making a snicker leave his lips.
"One of them is, yes. Maybe the other one won't give you bad luck." He comments. I grab the other hoodie, and slide it over my body. A feeling of comfort and warmth rush through my body.
I relax in the passengers seat, and look out the window. All I see is the aggressive water hit the window and my ears are soon filled with the roar of thunder.
"Do you think we should talk?" I hear Harry say beside me a few moments later.
I swallow the sudden lump in my throat and turn and face the boy beside me. "I mean," I pause, not knowing what to say. "Do you want to talk?"
"I guess, we have the time." Harry states.
I bite my lower lip and nod. Harry soon explains what happened two summers ago that has lead us to where we are now.
