Wendy's POV:

The starting lineup for our team was with me as setter, Sugawara-senpai as wing-spiker, Natsu-nii as spiker, Ennoshita-senpai as wing spiker, Yamaguchi-san as middle blocker and Asahi-senpai as wing spiker. The opposing team had Kageyama-san, Hinata-san, Tsukishima-san, Tanaka-senpai, Nishinoya-senpai and Daichi-senpai. "Line up!" "Thanks for the game!" We all bowed and went to our respective places. I was on the left with Ennoshita-senpai next to me. Sugawara-senpai gave us the signal for 'shut-down'. He had given us a sheet before we left for class.

Flashback:

"Sugawara-senpai what is this?" I asked.

"Its signals for different attacks." He replied calmly.

"So if you do this," Natsu-nii said and mimicked the drawing, " It means delayed spike?"

"Yes. Can you try to memorise these before the end of the school day?" He asked us. "Because you may be on my team for the practice match so you need to know this."

"Okay Sugawara-senpai!" I answered.

He gave me a smile and left.

Flashback end

No-one's POV:

Wendy was on the left with Ennoshita next to her. Sugawara gave the signal for a 'shutdown' behind his back. The team nodded and got in position to receive. The starting whistle blew and Kageyama served, aiming the ball towards Wendy. She received it but it went to the other side. Calls of "Chance ball!" echoed around the hall. Nishinoya received it and it went to Kageyama who set it to Hinata, performing their signature quick. Hinata hit it with his eyes closed, but didn't expect the spike to be blocked. Hinata opened his eyes in surprise and came face to face with Natsu. The whistle blew, letting the players know they scored a point. Natsu landed and stared Hinata in the eyes.

"You're too easy to read you know~" He said with a smirk. Both teams were in shock besides Wendy. She went up to Natsu and slapped his hand in a high five.

"Good job Natsu-nii." She had a similar smirk to Natsu and turned to face Hinata. He shivered because their stares looked like a dragon was looking at them. "Ne, Hinata-san. You're too slow. That's what makes you easy to read."

Hinata stood in shock. Too slow?! He was the fastest on the team. How could he be too slow?!

The whistle blew, jolting the players out of their shock. Both teams settled into defensive positions. It was Wendy's turn to serve and she spun the ball in her hands. The whistle blew again. She then giggled, much to the players surprise. Throwing the ball in the air, she took a single step then jumped. She hit the ball with her left hand, performing a left-handed jump serve. Because the team wasn't used to it, they were unprepared. Nishinoya dived for it, but it bounced off his hand, onto the floor. The team was in shock once again. The whistle blew and Wendy's team cheered in celebration.

Wendy served again, only this time, she did a powerful jump serve. Daichi managed receive it, but it went straight to Wendy's side. Natsu received it and sent it to Sugawara set to Asahi. Tsukishima, Hinata and Kageyama tried to block it but Asahi sent it flying past their hands. The whistle signalled another point. This kept up for a bit more until the score was 18 - 15, Wendy's team in the lead. Hinata's team called a time-out. Collapsing on the bench, Wendy chugged water from her drink bottle. "Wendy." She turned around to see who called her. Seeing it was Natsu, she went over. "Can you do the thing?" He asked. She nodded and asked for the team to come around. She started explaining her plan to the team. She didn't notice Hinata staring at her.

"Ne Daichi-senpai, Wendy and Natsu are strong right?" Hinata asked the captain.

Daichi nodded. "They seem familiar in a way. I can't remember where I have seen them before but I'm pretty sure I have..." His voice trailed off as he thought. Hinata has never seen the captain seem so thoughtful. The whistle blew, signalling the end of the timeout. Walking back out on court, both teams settled into defence positions. Looking at Wendy and Natsu, Kageyama noticed something. They weren't even in the same positions that everyone else was in. Instead, they were almost standing. Something about their posture made them seem calm and relaxed. When Daichi served, they moved so quickly it was hard to keep up. One second they were in their starting positions, the next one was in the path of the ball while the other was getting ready to set. The only thing that would confuse the other team was that there were two setters waiting to set it. Wendy received it and sent it to Sugawara. He then set it to Yamaguchi, who was already jumping. Hitting the ball at full force, Yamaguchi sent the ball flying past the blockers and in the back corner of the court. The court was silent despite the sound of the ball bouncing off the floor and landing on the second level of the gym. Cries of "UOAAAAAAAA!!!!" and "YAMAGUCHI!!!" echoed around the hall. Yamaguchi had landed and he looks at his hand in awe. From a distance, even Wendy could tell that his hand was stinging. The whistle blew to signal a point. The score changed to 19 - 15.

This time it was Natsu's turn to serve. Since this was needed for the plan, he served an underhand serve to the lights. Everyone on the other team looked up, then looked straight down because of the glare from the lights. The ball came falling down, and since the other team was still partially blinded from the lights, it landed in the centre of their court. The whistle blew once more. He repeated this until the score was 23 - 15, Wendy's team in the lead. Receiving a nod from Sugawara, Natsu served a simple but powerful jump serve towards Daichi. He received it and it went to Kageyama to set to Hinata. He jumped up but then Natsu jumped in front of his line of vision. His face said, readable. Hinata suddenly remembered the words he and Wendy said. You are easy to read. You are slow. Their faces taunted them. Suddenly Hinata forgot how to hit the ball and it fell down on their side of the court. The whistle blew and the score was 24-15. They had a set point. Hinata looked at his hand and wondered, was I too easy to read?

"HINATA BOKE!" Kageyama's voice interrupted his thoughts. Oh great. I'm in trouble now. Kageyama came storming towards him. My face then changed to a calm, expressionless face. "Why didn't you hit the ball?!"

"Oi, oi. Daichi is going to get mad if you don't calm down Kageyama." Tanaka said, trying to calm Kageyama down.

"Kageyama." The said person turned around, fearing what was going to happen next. Daichi was standing behind him, waves of anger radiating around him."It wasn't Hinata's fault okay?"

"Y-yes Daichi-san." Kageyama stuttered. Beside him, Hinata was shaking with silent laughter. Kageyama heard this (with supersonic hearing) and attacked Hinata. He dodged the attacks and sprinted away from Kageyama to hide behind Tanaka. Tanaka managed to stop Kageyama from killing Hinata before the whistle blew, signalling for the players to get back in position. Settling into a defensive stance once again, the whistle blew, letting Natsu know that he can serve again. Natsu did a simple serve towards Tsukishima. He received it but it went over the net as a chance ball. Ennoshita received it and it went to Sugawara. He set it into a high arc towards Wendy. The blockers gathered on Wendy's side of the court. Since Tsukishima was directly in-front of her, Wendy bent down a little bit so she was outside of Tsukishima's line of view, then she jumped in a special way that she spun 360 degrees in the air. When the ball entered her line of sight, the blockers jumped. Wendy hit the ball with the side of her left hand and it blew (tobe fly~ high~) past the blockers, hitting Nishinoya on the chest and bounced out. (sorry noya) A whistle blowing twice indicated that her team won the match.

"YEAH!" Cheers erupted from her side of the court. This group was often the ones that sit on the bench in matches. To think that they can do this good against the regulars was amazing. Wendy was suddenly grabbed then spun around in the air.

"We did it Wendy-chan! Just like you said it would!" Yamaguchi's voice was laced with joy. He put Wendy back down on the floor. "If this happens in the Spring High we will win for sure!"

The gym was silent, with everyone looking at their pinch server showing a different side. Noticing all the attention was on him, Yamaguchi blushed and said, "I was excited that's all." The rest of the team didn't believe it but decided not to ask any more questions.

"Welcome to the club!" Daichi said, handing Wendy and Natsu their jackets.

"Ready for the official welcome?" Daichi asked as everyone put on their jackets.

"Sei, no. Welcome to Karasuno Volleyball Club!" Everyone yelled.
