Sleeping Beauty AU pt.4
Qrow woke up in a dark and cold cell, the only source of light being a dim lantern on the other side of the bars. He was slowly starting to get feeling back in his body, but so far he could only move his head. Turning his head Qrow sees the man who attacked him on the other side of the bars, and he was staring back with an evil smile on his face.
"Why'd you bring me here? What do you want from me?" Qrow asked him.
"Sorry...I'm not allowed to tell you." Tyrian chuckled.
"Please...let me go..." Qrow begged.
"Nope, no can do. Bye-bye." Tyrian said before leaving Qrow all alone in the dungeon.
When Tyrian was gone, Qrow bit back the tears that fought their way to his eyes. He wasn't sure what to do, he was in a place unknown and had no idea what day it even was. Had Clover's birthday already passed? Does Clover think he abandoned him?
"I'm so sorry, Clover." Qrow sighed sorrowfully.
Back at the castle, Clover is sitting in his new room, waiting to hear about Qrow's whereabouts.
"Did you find him?" Clover asked his parents when they came into his room.
"Sorry, baby, not yet." Queen Joanna said sitting next to Clover and putting her arm around him.
"I'm worried about him, Mom. I think something bad happened to him." Clover said.
"*sigh* Some birthday this turned out to be. First, I learned my whole life has been a lie, I find out I'm cursed, and now the man I love is missing." he sighed putting his head in his hands.
"How about I make you a special dinner, will that make you feel better? What do you like to eat?" Queen Joanna asked.
"I...like shepherds pie." Clover mumbled.
"Okay, baby, I'll get to it right away." Queen Joanna said kissing Clover's forehead.
She stands up and heads out of the room, then King Trevor walks over to his son and hugs him.
"And I'll join the search for Qrow. I wanna find him as soon as possible so that my son is happy." King Trevor said before leaving the room.
"Keep an eye on him. We've confiscated every spinning wheel in the kingdom and locked them in the dungeon. So, as long as he's in his room until the next day, there should be no way for him to fall victim to that curse." King Trevor told the three fairies.
"Yes, your majesty." they replied with a bow.
After a few hours, Clover begins to get a little restless...and bored.
"Please, Aunt Willow, I just wanna go check out the castle library." Clover begged.
"Sorry, Clover, but your father has instructed us to keep you in this room." Willow replied.
"If you want something to read, we'll go to the library and bring you back a couple books." Summer said.
"Oh, alright." Clover pouts, but nods.
"We'll only be gone for a few minutes, don't go anywhere, little sprig." Kahli told him.
"Don't worry, I won't." Clover assured them.
As soon as his aunts left, Clover flops back onto his bed with a heavy sigh. This has been the craziest day of Clover's entire life. Then, suddenly...Clover hears a mysterious voice call out to him.
"Huh? Who's there?" Clover thought aloud.
He steps out into the hall where he thought he heard the voice. The second he had stepped out of his room, Clover's mind had completely gone blank, as if in a trance, and his feet started to move on their own towards the dungeon. Clover trudges like a zombie through the castle, following the influence of the curse to his impending doom. Each step down the dungeon stairs was a step closer to an eternal slumber. One of the cells in the dungeon magically open, leaving a fancily decorated spinning wheel completely and totally accessible. Slowly, Clover reaches his hand out to the spindle of the spinning wheel. At the exact moment Clover had pricked his finger, all the lights in the castle went dark and were replaced by a deep purple glow.
"Oh no..." Summer said when her, Willow, and Kahli noticed this occurrence.
They immediately dropped the books they were carrying, change into their fairy form, and rush towards the dungeon, hoping and praying it's not what they think it is. Queen Joanna had also noticed what happened to the lights and was filled with a deep sickening dread. Her heart pounding, she runs to the dungeon only to find that her son was unconscious in the three fairies's arms as they cried.
"N-no...no...no, this can't be happening...." Queen Joanna wept, dropping to her knees.
The king and queen's plans have failed, their son is in an eternal sleep that, unless he's kissed by his true love, he'll never ever wake up from. Clover is placed in his bed under the covers, and his mother sits at his bedside holding his hand. While out, King Trevor received word about the incident and rushed back to the castle. When he reached his son's room, the sight of Clover laying on the bed like that nearly made him burst into tears...but his wife needed comfort, so he pushed them down.
"It's going to be okay, JoJo. We'll figure this out." King Trevor said hugging his wife.
He kisses her temple then walks over to where the fairies are huddled together with tear stains on their faces.
"You three...go find Qrow, he's Clover's only hope." King Trevor told them, his voice on the verge of breaking.
"We promise you, your majesty, we'll do anything in our power to ensure Qrow breaks Clover's curse." Willow promised the king.
"Come on guys, let's go." she said opening the window.
The fairies transform into their fairy form and fly out the open window. They search all over the kingdom, but couldn't find a single sign of Qrow.
"Guys! I think I know where he is! Why didn't we think of this before!?" Summer said.
"What, Summer?" Kahli asked.
"I mean, it's just so obvious!" Summer replied.
"Just tell us, Summer!" Willow said.
"I have no doubt in my mind that Qrow is being held captive in Salem's castle. I mean...she'd do just about anything to make sure her plans didn't fail, so she obviously kidnapped him to get him out of the way." Summer explained.
While Clover laid asleep in his bed, the fairies make their way to the evil witches castle to free Qrow so that he can free Clover from his curse. The king and queen held their boy's hand, praying that the love the two men shared would be enough to save him from his eternal slumber. Meanwhile, Qrow sat in his cell, hugging his knees to his chest. After hours of trying to escape, he was beginning to lose all hope. Qrow was close to convincing himself that he'll never see the light of day again...nor the love of his life. That is...until he saw three little creatures in the distance outside his window.
