Cinderella AU pt.5
The birds think hard to come up with a plan to help Qrow escape the storm cellar.
"We need to get that key from Taka!" Yang said.
"But we're just little ol' birds, how are we gonna take a key from a human?" Ruby asked.
"Where's that fairy godmother lady!? This is a way more dire situation than a stupid ball!" Nora groaned.
"Come on, guys, we can do this if we all just work together." Oscar said flying towards the house.
The others follow him, and they all perch on the windowsill outside the living room where Taka and Raven are letting the prince, the general, and a woman into the house.
"Hello, your highness, general, and....?" Taka greeted, confused about who the woman with them was.
"I'm Robyn Hill, I am an associate of the royal family. I...have a unique skill, I can tell whether someone is telling the truth or lying. So, the prince asked me to help him in his search so that he won't be tricked by some liar trying to manipulate him. And so far...we've run into a lot of liars." the woman, named Robyn, answered.
"O-okay..." Taka said nervously.
"Sir, is there any young men in this house?" Ironwood asked Taka.
"No, general, there is no young men in this house." Taka replied.
Robyn looks intently at Taka, then nods, confirming that he told the truth.
"Well, if there's no one here that could possibly be the one I'm looking for, then it's time we take our leave." Clover said heading towards the door.
"Wait! You just got here, at least stay for some tea." Raven said stopping them from leaving.
"Oh, alright, it would be rude of me to just show up and then leave, after all." Clover said following Raven into the kitchen.
Once everyone was in the kitchen, the birds try to find a way to sneak into the house. Meanwhile in the kitchen, Taka, Raven, Clover, Ironwood, and Robyn sit at the table having tea.
"I know it may not be my place to say this, but...maybe you shouldn't try to find a man who abandoned you at the ball." Taka said, choosing his words carefully to avoid being detected by the human lie detector sitting next to him.
"I appreciate your concern, Mr. Branwen, but you just don't understand. He didn't leave me on purpose that night. It was obvious something important came up and he had no choice to leave." Clover replied.
"But...what could be more important than the company of a prince?" Raven scoffed.
"I agree. So that's why I'm willing to graciously offer you my daughter's hand in marriage in place of that fool who ditched you." Taka said.
Robyn rolls her eyes as Ironwood sighs in annoyance.
"I knew there had to be an ulterior motive to you two offering tea." Ironwood grumbled.
"Look, your daughter seems...lovely...and all, but...I'm not interested in women." Clover told Taka.
Back in the living room, the birds finally find their way inside, and Oscar grabs the key to the cellar that's laying on the coffee table.
"How are we gonna use the key to open the cellar?" Jaune asked.
"I've got an idea, follow me!" Ruby said flying towards the kitchen.
The birds fly into the kitchen and hover around Clover.
"Shoo, birds, get outta here!" Robyn said trying to swat her hands at the birds.
"Wait a minute, I think these birds are trying to tell me something. Look, one of them is holding a key." Clover told her.
Clover, along with Robyn and Ironwood, follow the birds out of the house and towards the barn where the storm cellar is.
"Stop! There's no need to pay any attention to those stupid birds, there's nothing in that cellar!" Taka shouted catching up with the others.
"He's lying! There is something in that cellar!" Robyn said.
While Clover uses the key to unlock all the locks on the cellar doors, Ironwood makes sure Taka doesn't try to stop him. When the doors were opened, Clover was shocked to see a terrified man with tear stains on his cheeks in the cellar.
"What the...why is this man locked in here? Who is he?" Ironwood asked Taka angrily.
"He's no one you need to concern yourself about." Taka told them.
"That's another lie!" Robyn pointed out.
"Sir, are you alright, who are you?" Clover asked Qrow pulling him out of the cellar.
"I'm Qrow Branwen...and...I'm the one you've been searching all over for." Qrow answered.
"Woah, he's telling the truth, that really is him, your highness." Robyn told Clover.
"Oh my god, I can't believe I finally found you!" Clover said happily, hugging Qrow tightly.
"Why did you lock him in there?" Ironwood asked Taka.
"He locked me in there so I wouldn't be able to stop him and my sister from manipulating the prince into marrying her, so that they could become royalty. He was also gonna kill me once you all left." Qrow told them.
"Why you little..." Taka growled lunging at Qrow.
Ironwood grabs Taka and takes him to the ground pinning him down while Clover wraps his arms protectively around Qrow.
"General, arrest this man and his daughter for attempted murder and conspiracy against the royal family!" Clover ordered, still holding Qrow in his arms.
"Yes, sir. Robyn, go fetch Miss Branwen." Ironwood replied.
As Robyn was chasing down Raven to arrest her, Ironwood restrained Taka and took him away.
"See, Qrow, I told you we would help you!" Ruby said perching on Qrow's shoulder.
"Are these all your birds?" Clover asked Qrow.
"Yeah, they're mine. They're my best friends." Qrow replied smiling at his birds.
"It's amazing how they saved you and all." Clover said petting the bird on Qrow's shoulder.
"Yeah, it is." Qrow agreed.
"Thanks guys." he told the birds.
Qrow introduces each bird to Clover then the prince takes his true love to the palace to meet his parents. Taka and Raven were put in prison for their crimes and Qrow was given all their assets.
"I'm sorry your family was so cruel to you for so long. You didn't deserve to be treated like that. You're so wonderful and beautiful...I love you so much." Clover said as him and Qrow sat in the same garden as from the night of the ball.
"I love you too. Thank you for giving me a chance at a better, happier life." Qrow said holding Clover's hand.
Clover pulls Qrow into a longer, more passionate kiss than the one from the ball. A month later, they were married and Qrow now lives in the palace rather than a tiny cold attic. Qrow loves his new life as a prince, he's finally loved, wanted, and respected. His birds now live in an aviary Clover had built in the garden where they fell in love. The birds and Clover get along very well, of which Qrow is very happy about. Now that Qrow is away from his awful and abusive family, he, his husband, and his birds can all live happily ever after...THE END!
