The prince was going mad trying to figure out where the man he met last night had ran off to. He had to find him and know who he is.
"Well, what does he look like?" the king, Trevor, asked.
"He...he...oh god I can't remember. W-why can't I remember!? I met him just last night, how could I forget what he looks like?" Clover replied.
"Baby, isn't it a bit silly to scour the kingdom looking for someone you just met?" the queen, Joanna, asked.
"Yes, mom, I know that, but this is different. I made a real connection with this guy. Hanging out and talking with him felt so amazing...and...kissing him just felt...right." Clover told her.
"Please, I need to find him." he begged his parents.
"Alright, son, we'll have James help you find this mystery man." Trevor said.
"Thanks, Mom and Dad!" Clover cheered hugging his parents tightly.
Clover goes off to find Ironwood and tell him what his parents just said.
"Okay, your highness, do you have any clues to this man's identity?" Ironwood asked.
"*sigh* No, not really. Unless you count this glove he accidentally left behind." Clover sighed, pouting like a sad puppy.
"Hey, maybe we could go around the kingdom trying this glove on every man, and the one that fits will be the one I'm looking for." he suggested.
"What? Sir, no, that won't work. Several hundred men are bound to have the same size hands." Ironwood told him.
"Oh, yeah, you're right, that's totally stupid. Uhg, what was I thinking." Clover groaned.
After some more pouting, Clover gets another idea.
"Okay, hear me out, when I kissed him I felt sparks, so all I gotta do is..." Clover suggested.
"No!" Ironwood interrupted.
"You didn't even let me finish." Clover argued.
"I knew where you were going with that train of thought, so...NO!" Ironwood replied sternly.
Back at the Branwen household, Qrow is quietly doing his chores, frowning. He was depressed, he had somehow convinced himself that Clover was never going to love someone like him and that the moment they had shared was only just that...a moment. His birds tried their best to cheer him up, but he wouldn't listen when they would tell him how much of an amazing person he is. Weeks go by, and the whole kingdom was aware of the prince's search for his mystery man.
"Come on, Qrow, just march up to Clover and say, 'I'm the one you're looking for'." Yang told him.
"He wouldn't believe me, and even if he did, I'm not the kind of guy who's worthy of dating a prince." Qrow replied.
"But, Clover's a nice guy, he doesn't care about stuff like that." Ruby said.
"Other people do, though. I'll only ruin his reputation, so it's better that he just finds someone else to love." Qrow argued.
"Clover loves you, Qrow, that's why he's going to such lengths to find you." Oscar said.
The bird's wing had healed yesterday, but by then he was already a member of the group so he stayed.
"You guys really think he loves me?" Qrow asked shyly.
"Of course we do! How can he not love you? You're the best!" Nora said flying over to perch on Qrow's head.
"Thanks, guys, I love you." Qrow told them.
"QROW!" Taka shouted trudging up the stairs loudly.
The birds bolt out the window when Taka pushes open Qrow's door.
"I heard talking. Who were you talking to?" Taka asked.
"No one, I was just thinking out loud." Qrow told him.
"Whatever. The prince is coming in a couple hours, so you better make yourself scarce." Taka replied.
"What's the prince coming here for?" Qrow asked.
"Haven't you been paying attention to things lately, nimrod? He's been checking every household for that stupid mystery man of his." Taka said annoyed.
"Oh, right, that guy. The guy who the prince was off star gazing in the garden with." Qrow said.
"What did you just say?" Taka asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Huh?" Qrow replied confused.
"You just said the prince and the mystery man were star gazing in the garden the night of the ball. No one knew what they were doing that night, why did you say that?" Taka questioned Qrow, backing him into a corner.
"Uhhh, just a guess..." Qrow mumbled looking down at his feet.
"Nuh-uh, that was too d*mn specific to be a guess! How the h*ll did you know what they were doing that night?!" Taka asked glaring at Qrow threateningly.
Qrow couldn't respond, he was too scared to. Then he became even more scared once he saw the realization on Taka's face.
"It was you...wasn't it? You are that god d*mn mystery man." Taka growled angrily.
Taka punches Qrow hard in the jaw, knocking him to the floor. Then he grabs him by his hair and drags him outside and towards the storm cellar that was under the barn. He opens up the storm cellar doors and throws Qrow down into the cellar.
"Stay in here and keep your d*mn mouth shut, or else." Taka told Qrow.
"No, please! Don't lock me in here!" Qrow begged.
"I said keep your mouth shut, you useless son of a b**ch!" Taka snapped at him.
"I'm gonna have your sister marry the prince if it's the last thing I do! And you are not gonna stand in my way! I've had enough of you, you've outlived your purpose. When this is all over, I'm coming back here and I'm gonna KILL you!" Taka said before slamming the cellar doors shut and locking it with chains and a padlock.
When Taka's footsteps faded away, Qrow starts banging and pounding on the cellar doors to try to get them to open. But no matter how much force and effort he put in, the doors wouldn't budge. After another failed attempt at freeing himself, Qrow crumbles to the ground crying.
"This is it, isn't it? I...I-I'm gonna die...I'm gonna die a pathetic worthless man who's been treated like a slave by his own family his whole life. This is so unfair! What did I do to deserve this!?" Qrow sobbed.
In the pitch black darkness of the storm cellar, Qrow lays on his side on the ground, hugging his knees to his chest, crying. He cries cause he knows he's doomed to die. And he cries cause he'll never get the chance to be with the man he's fallen in love with. Qrow feels hopeless, there's no chance of escape, he's not strong enough to break through the locks on the doors, and anyone who could help him is too far away to hear his calls for help.
"QROW! QROW, ARE YOU IN THERE!?" his birds asked from the other side of the doors.
"Yes, I'm in here!" Qrow replied through his sobs.
"Don't worry, Qrow, we'll help you get out!" Ruby told him.
The birds fly off before Qrow could tell them that there was no point in trying to help him. Qrow knows he's a dead man, but it seems that the birds still have some hope in them.
