As The World Caves In (Pt. 1)

A cold hand grazed amongst my cheek. I couldn't see anything. My lips parted as I wheezed for oxygen, however, the sensation of fear crawled within my spine. Tears trickled down the side of my face. I felt heavy.

Rough arms slid below my backside. Cuts burned while bones cracked to the sudden lift of my body. My head flung back as someone held me between their chest. Blood danced along my forearm. Bruises splattered throughout my body. I winced. More tears began to outline my jaw before they detached. Everything throbbed.

I swayed to the rhythmic steps of my savior. We just kept walking and walking. My black wavy hair rustled against their biceps. I listened to the thumps of their heart beat, eventually it followed the pattern of a clock, which calmed my nerves. My fingers flinched to his raspy voice, "Hang in there, we're almost home."

I groaned in response to his words, his head tilted inward as he examined my torn face. Blood was everywhere. He frowned with concern and pecked my forehead with a slight kiss. "It's okay." He continued walking, my ears rang to the distant explosions of nuclear weapons. Holars for help rippled throughout the atmosphere. Anxiety webbed within my body, but he kept going. I moaned and gasped at their screams. I felt his grip tighten around my body. My chest heaved with panic. Yet suddenly, a cool liquid pattered against my neck. He was crying.

Once again I heard his voice, "Stay with me."

I heaved while my body trembled in agony. My memories glitched and frizzed against my head. Flashes of events occurred. My blood raced, I was flung in the air. There were tanks, firearms, bombs, dead bodies, babies. I started hyperventilating. A bit after the stranger noticed. He quickly transferred into a light jog, "Were almost there, Alex." I was struggling to breathe while more events came to pass.

Unexpectedly I heard voices. They grew louder and louder. Then a door was creaked shut. Men began shouting, materials were instantly being moved. I was hurried towards a wooden surface, I listened to the clacks of metal and plastic shoved to the side. Rough hands ripped my clothes off. However, they left my underwear. At some points I wailed and choked to the extreme pain rattling upon my flesh.

Once again I felt the same cool hands grip my shoulders. The snapping of a bottle cap echoed, his grip tightened. His wrists began to tremble, "Brace yourself, Alex."

All at once, my face was on fire. My hands shot upward and clenched the man's forearms. More liquid was poured onto my injuries. Foam and blood gushed everywhere, my bones strained throughout my flesh. My jaw snapped open as my vocals tensed.

I couldn't stop screaming.
