CHAPTER 5

Osman Agha's pov
Being born as son of farmer made my life even harder than anything. It wasn't hard because of all the work we had to do on field for our owners the Iskenderoglu family (family of Bosnian governors, Namik Pasha's family), but their behaviour towards us.

My real name is Mitar. I was born on summer night exactly 23 years old in the mountains of southern Bosnia. My mother Ana died after giving birth to me, leaving my father Petar, my brother Jovan and me completely alone.

Everything we have been doing in our life was serving the Iskenderoglu family who were traitors. We did so much job to them but rarely got paid, even though other families payed for their workers.

As Iskenderoglus were governors of the Bosnia, they always kept their heads high and acted like they were Sultan himself. Especially Ahmed Pasha, governor of Bosnia and father of Namik Pasha. I remember the summer day when we worked on field. It was so hot we barely could breath, water was important for us to keep working. But he did nothing to help us, he just sent his higher positioned servants to beat us how we would be too afraid to stop, but actually we would just lose our consciousness.

Being aged 12 the janissaries came into our village and as part of devshirme they took the little boys. I saw this as perfect opportunity to go to janissaries and join them because everything was better than working for Iskenderoglu family. I swore to my brother and father that one day when I become successful I would return and save them from this hell on earth. I promised if I ever get the opportunity I would show the world how Iskenderoglu family is for real.

Janissaries took me and I went together with them in Istanbul where together with all other boys I learnt how to fight. They changed my name into Osman. Aged 18 I went to my first battle which Sultan Suleiman took us to. After 6 years of practice I was very well soldier and Sultan's viziers saw that.

They took me into the Palace as Sultan wanted to keep talented people like me close to himself. They kept me in palace and gave me title of agha. Sultan appointed me on his missions to fight the traitors which I was successful in.

But at that time, instead of fighting Iskenderoglu, they were gifted with the most precious Ottoman gift – Iskenderoglu Ahmed's son Namik got Sultan Suleiman's sister Fahriye as his wife. They married and made even stronger influence over their territory.

I couldn't find proofs about Iskenderoglu's traitorous acts. There was nothing I could do, because who would believe a random agha servant rather than father-in-law of the Dynasty.

As the old Iskenderoglu died his son succeeded everything. But his position of governor of Bosnia wasn't enough for him, he wanted to even get in Grand Divan, and he hoped to get everything that because of his wife Fahriye Sultana when they arrived in Istanbul.

But at that moment everything changed to me when I saw woman in front of who my heart beats like it has never did. I never felt the emotion of love towards the woman until the moment I saw her.

I couldn't say it is love, but something so fascinating in her. Something that I have never seen in any other woman. Something I have never felt before. For the whole time I felt some positive energy while I was around her, like she had shared the energy so much that no one beside her could stay calm to that.

I haven't talked a lot with her, only when we would see each other while she would go to Harem, but I couldn't realise one thing. How a woman like her was happy with Namik, the member of the traitorous family.

Man who's family is known for having women aside their wife and having illegitimate children all around the Bosnia. I wouldn't be surprised if he was also like that to her.

It was hard for me to ask Fahriye Sultana about her husband. I saw on her expression that she didn't know about many of those things, and I didn't want her to feel bad about that. Sultana seemed so innocent compared to her traitor husband.

She didn't want to show in front of me about how many things she has never heard in her life about him, even if she was spending five years of her life with him. She seemed to love him a lot.

End of scene

"Hatice, did something important happened?" I asked her as she sent her main servant Nigar Kalfa to get to me and bring me in her palace very early in the morning.

"Nothing bad has happened, I just wanted to spend time with my sister," Hatice said giving me a weird smile which confused me a lot. Even though we were sisters I didn't feel any strong connection with her as I had with my elder sisters Sahuban and Beyhan. I don't remember Fatma a lot because she married far away and never visited us while Sahuban and Beyhan did.

"I was afraid when Nigar came that upset," I said and sat next to Hatice under pavilion in her gardens where giant monuments were. Everyone was gossiping about Ibrahim because of them, and I was actually glad Namik haven't seen them yet because also he would be the one complaining too.

"You seem exhausted," Hatice said to me stopping me from my thoughts.

"How I wouldn't be when my brother and husband are injured?" I said to her coldly. Instead of spending day with my children she called me here with I don't know which reason.

"Obviously someone is against your husband," Hatice said to me sounding like she wanted to say her husband is better than mine. I was so upset about the things Osman said to me about Namik I wouldn't even defend him but defend myself because I was tired of my sister's humiliation.

"Luckily about your husband everyone thinks only the best," I said on sarcastic way which didn't make her feel happy.

"You haven't even changed in those five years, you only came here to hurt us for what you were married off early and now you think we all must feel guilty about it, it was not our fault you married to a man you didn't want to and I did," she said and with each minute passing I wanted more and more to return home.

"Person can't change Hatice, even you haven't changed a bit. Only thing that has changed is that now you aren't influenced by Valide only, but also by Ibrahim. You think you get all your strength from him and always have to mention to all us your sisters that you are the one who married for a man she loves, but how long will that love last?" I said to her not caring about hurting her emotions anymore.

Because of her and because of what everyone loved her more than they did me they made me feel less worth. It was always Hatice, and yes she got option to be with a man she loves but that wasn't the thing she should point out in front of everyone because it happened to her she was the lucky one and most favourite daughter.

"You should stop now Fahriye! Don't you dare to even speak about those things because the same might happen to you," Hatice yelled on me like never before.

"And even if that happens to me what would it mean when it was the husband who was chosen for me? How would it be if someone you chose for yourself do it?" I said and she couldn't keep her anger anymore. She looked at me with so much hate in her eyes like I am her death enemy not her sister.

"When will you leave to Bosnia?" She asked upset as she looked at another side trying to look at everything but not at me.

"I hope to stay until Hurrem gives birth, I want to meet my new nephew or niece," I said and smiled to her as she couldn't stand the mention of Hurrem like no one else here.

"You are friend with Hurrem just to be against us," she said.

"Not the whole world is spinning around you, Hatice," I said and got up and walked to the carriage to went back home, but next to the carriage I saw Ibrahim Pasha who I still haven't had opportunity to see after I left Topkapi five years ago.

"Sultanim," he said and bowed to me and I nodded him with my head.

"I hope your husband gets well soon," he said.

"I hope so too," I said quickly answering being tired from Hatice's toxic acting in front of me.

"I didn't know you would visit today, I would order maids to prepare lunch," he said and I didn't know why Ibrahim would be so nice to me after how much my sister disliked me.

"It doesn't matter, you should better go and calm down Hatice because this way of acting won't help her in anything," I said and he took a deep breath.

"I apologize to you in her name, Sultana is little nervous since she is pregnant and she is afraid if she will again lose the baby," Ibrahim said to me.

"I know everything, you shouldn't apologise in her name, she will do it alone when she realises," I said.

"No, I am sorry. Hatice is having emotional brekadowns on everyone in the last time, but everybody stays silent about it," he said and he didn't even a bit seem to worry about that.

"Then why aren't you with her Ibrahim and help her to go through it?" I asked him as her husband he should take care of her and her emotions because they live together and Hatice believes only him no one else.

"Because Sultana gets angry on me really easily and it's impossible to have conversation with her," Ibrahim said and I knew I obviously said to Hatice what feared her most and that is Ibrahim being tired of her which happened to be sooner than anyone expected.

"You are her husband and you can't find it impossible, Ibrahim. Don't forget what she did to get to marry you, you shouldn't act like this to her now," I said and entered my carriage.

As I stepped in front of my Palace I saw Osman Agha is still standing there and few of Namik servants were also there.

"Sultana, Namik Pasha has arrived," Osman said to me and I didn't know if I would sigh from relief or how to feel because very soon I would need to find out the real truth about him.

"You can't look at Namik Pasha's wife in the eyes," Orhan Bey, one of Namik's servants yelled on Osman while he was talking to me.

"Who you are to yell on someone in front of a Sultana or decide who will I talk with?" I yelled on him as he was looking down on the floor ashamedly.

I nodded to Osman and smiled to him as I entered my Palace. I went up the stairs to the chambers that were supposed to be my and Namik's. But when I opened the doors, I saw something that shocked me.

"What is this?" I yelled.
