Chapter 12 - Father Christmas

we walked through a snow covered field i was tired and wanted to sleep but i knew if i did night terrors would haunt me so i carried on. Beaver was getting bossy while we were trailing behind.

"come on humans while we're still young" Beaver shouted back to us as he carried on walking.

"if he tells us to hurry up one more time...I'm gonna turn him into a fluffy hat" he lifted me into a piggy back while Susan took Lucy

"hurry up, come on" Beaver shouted

"he is getting a little bossy" Lucy commented we smirked and went to carry on.

"no! behind you it her" Bea announced we looked back a sleigh was heading right towards us, i was dropped to the floor and we started running

"Run, come on" Peter held my hand as we ran, we made our way to the woods where Bea found a hiding place.

"dive, dive" Beaver ordered a we scurried into the hole we watched as a shadow stood above and sent bits of snow down before moving away.

"maybe she's gone" I whispered holding on to Peter

"I'll suppose I'll go look" Peter whispered about to get up.

"no you no worth to Narnia dead " Beaver stopped him.

"we'll neither are you beaver" Bea told her husband who took her paw.

"thanks sweetheart" he left and we heard movement in the snow  then beavers head poked over Lucy let out a small scream.

"come out, come out. i hope you've all been good because there is someone here to see ya" we looked at each other before crawling out there was a man with a old beard and a sleigh, it was father Christmas

"merry Christmas sir" Lucy stepped forward the man laughed

"it certainly is Lucy since you have arrived" he replied

"look I've put up with a lot since i got here but this" Su was cut off by Peter

"we thought you were the white witch"

"yes sorry about that but in my defence i have been driving one of these longer that the Witch" he responded

"i thought there was no Christmas in Narnia." Susan questioned

"no not for a very long time but the hope you have brought is finally starting to weaken the witches power, though i dare say you'll be needing these" he pulled out a great big bag.

"Presents" Lucy chimed i was not coming round to the idea that father christmas was in front of me, he smiled and chuckled letting the back drop to the ground he pulled out a cordial and a dagger. and bent in front of her.

"the juice of the fire flower one drop can cure any injury." he handed it to her and she took it.

"an even though i hope you never have to use this." he held up the dagger.

"thank you sir although i think i could be brave enough." he chuckled

"i dare say you could but battles are ugly affairs." Lucy stepped back

"Genevieve" i stepped forward as he pulled three things. the first was a box he opened it it was a necklace and on the end was a small ball.

"this will help with powers you have yet to master and stop the nightmares you fear so much, never again will your fear consume you while you sleep." i looked up at him.

"thank you sir" i took the necklace and fitted it around my neck. he then held up a locket. which encased a compass.

"trust in this and i will never lead you astray, always taking you to where you need to go." he handed it to me and slipped it over my neck last but not least.

"for the protector of the Kings and Queens, these are merly extention of your powers believe and you will not fail" i took them.

"thank you" he smiled as i went and stood next to Lucy.

"Susan." she came forward he held up bow and quivers.

"trust in this bow and it will not easily miss" he handed her them.

"what happened to battles were ugly affairs" she asked, Father Christmas chuckled and dug into his back bringing out a ivory horn.

"i see you have no problem making yourself heard. blow on this and wherever you are help will come" he handed her final present she thanked him and now it was Peters turn.

"the time to use these may be near at hand" he took out the sward and looked at it.

"thank you sir"

"these are tools not toys, bear them well and wisely. now i should be off winter is almost over and things tend to pile up when you've been gone a hundred years." he lifted his bag back into his sleigh

"Long Live Aslan. and Merry Christmas" he set of on his sleigh why we shouted thank you and Merry Christmas.

"told you he was real" Lucy looked at Susan.

"he said winter was almost over...." Peter trailed off and we looked at him.

"you know what this means?...no more Ice" we went wide eyed before racing to the river i had a burst of energy as we ran.
