Kicks Fly Here

Day 4

Prompt : Write a poem where every line starts with a conjunction

For days now,
We've dug graves
And so far,
We've buried my mother
And my two sisters

Since we've been locked up in this house,
We've had to watch kicks fly
And by now,
We have learned to stop wishing ,
That they miss all the heads
For if kicks fail,
Punches will surely prevail

Neither squeak nor whimper,
Are granted permission to escape
Yet the pain refuses to lessen
If one kick knocks all the lights out
And darkness favours you,
It's one less grave to fill

So if a kick comes flying,
Pray it connects with your head
And grants you eternal rest
