Carolyn POV
The Sky Oak- Huge tree. Has become a typical meeting place. Have spent most of my time here in it. I write in my journal as I run. My writing is shaky, but I don't care. I'm the only one to read this journal anyways.
I soon see Legolas come into view, and wave as I run. "You...wanted...to see...me?" I say as I approach, trying to catch my breath.
He nods. "Close your eyes" he says. I close them, and feel him grabbing ny arm, leading me somewhere. Having only darkness to gaze upon, my mind quickly begins to create vivid images of what I might see, and what I'd imagined Beyond the Storm to look like.
"We're here" A voice cuts into my thoughts. "If I'm correct, you came here from a different way. If you're going to be here, then you have to see this..."
I feel a bit dazed as I open my eyes. I must have drifted off a bit. But I can't stop a gasp from escaping as I see what Legolas has led me to-
The way the light hit the buildings was breathtaking. Waterfalls cascaded down, the silvery-blue catching the pale sunlight. Perfect was an understatement. I would love to tell you exactly how it looked, but it's far to beautiful for words. So much for being an author.
"It's...beautiful" I whispered, and Legolas smiles.
Suddenly, I feel a familiar weight on my shoulder. I turn and see a blue and purple bird staring back at me.
"Rainbow!" I cry happily, and she nuzzles my cheek with her beak. I laugh, stroking her feathers as she lands on my arm.
"This is my bird, Rainbow" I explain to Legolas, who is looking on, amused. "I've known her since I was four"
He walks over to me, reaching out to pet her. She chirps, flying over to him.
"Is it weird that my best friend is a bird?" I ask.
"Let's see...mysterious girl from a mysterious place, who controls water...If you told me that you were best friends with a cave troll, I don't think I'd have any right to question it" he laughs.
I smile. "New place, new mysterious, a possible stalker-bird...I don't think I can question this place either." I say as Rainbow returns to her usual place on my shoulder.
"I think I'd like to know more about these mysteries and this stalker-bird" says Legolas.
I laugh, a bit nervously. "Kind of a long story..." I tell him, having to remind myself to not go spilling all of my secrets. You know, the ones I haven't told him already.
Legolas abruptly turns his attention to something, but I don't know what. "Can you find your way back?" He asks me.
"I believe so" I reply.
"I have to go" Legolas tells me. "I'll be in the Sky Oak most of the time, if you'd like to tell me about these mysteries"
I wave to him as he runs off, and tear out a page of my journal. If I'm not back in an hour, tell Rainbow to lead you to me. -Carolyn I write, and roll the paper up. "Give this to Hermione" I tell Rainbow, and she flies off before I can give her any directions. But I know she'll find her. Rainbow's good at things like that.
And then I see it. The bird.
A/N: Wow, did I just randomly switch from past tense to present tense between chapters? Oops. (It's easier to write in present tense so...yeah) Let me know if there's anything else wrong, or anything you'd like to see. Thanks! -Dess
