Background:not much is known about Marlin's early days, however as an adult she works primarily as a magical researcher along side helping Samantha run the rebellion. Her current studies involves twins and how their magic works.

1. Marlin is the great granddaughter of Merlin and was named after him in his honor.

2. Marlin as three families. A owl known to have feathers like the stars, a black cat, and a dream demon name Jex who formed a contract with her at an early age.
While the owl and cat are manifestations of her own magic and can be desummoned at anytime,Jex is a real living being. He willfully works for Marlin under the condition that she supplies he with power. Moreover, he is allowed to leave or go against her word at anytime if he disagree with what is happening. Nevertheless, Jex and Marlin have a wonderful relationship that doesn't seem to be ending any time soon.
