Chapter Eleven: "He's gone."
Sakura's POV:
Crunch!
I grunted in pain and held up my fist. As I stared down the tree I had just punched. Blood trickled down my fist and dropped down to the dirt of the training field.
I turned around and focused healing chakra into my bare hand. I felt my injured hand become engulfed in a warm sensation and scrunched my face up in pain as my wound forcefully closed.
I walked away from the tree just in time, seeing as it fell from the amount of brute force I placed into the punch. A brief wind created by the fall blew my short pink hair around my face. Sighing I closed my eyes and stretched out my arms by pulling them behind my head one at a time.
Relaxing my tense shoulders, I let my hands drop to my side and stopped the flow of chakra into my hand. Pulling my gloves out of my kunai pouch, I slipped them on. Taking a deep breath I jumped up into the air and pulled back my fist. Just as I started falling I noticed Sarada walking onto the field.
Shit.
"Kaa-san?" I started falling as Sarada asked for me. I started panicking seeing my fist engulfed in bright blue chakra. I couldn't stop.
"Sarada!" I yelled when I was about to reach the ground. She turned and saw me. Her eyes widened, and she jumped away just as I made contact with the earth.
The earth crumbled beneath my fist. Large boulders formed and hovered from impact for a second before falling back to the ground with a loud crash. I flipped and landed in the debris neatly and looked over the damage.
I stood in the middle of an enormous crater. It was, at the very least, 400 meters wide, 200 meters deep. I jumped up out of the crater and noticed the shock wave had uprooted any tree within a 50 mile radius.
"Sarada?" I called out. Looking around, I didn't see her. I shook off the worried feeling in my stomach. Telling my self she had taken cover very far away and was returning.
Dust still lingering around the area caused me to sneeze. "Should probably clean this place up..." I mumbled, as I rubbed my nose.
Starting to form the hand signs required for my jutsu, I focused chakra into my hands. They glowed blue and my hands landed in the ram seal. The last hand sign.
"Ninja Art: Reconstruction Jutsu!" I yelled, slamming my hands onto the ground and pushing my chakra into it.
All around me, the earth started to reform. Dirt, boulders, and trees flew as they returned to their original positions. I watched the roots of trees reattach themselves to the soft soil of the earth. Leaves flew past me and landed neatly on tree branches all around me.
Removing my hands from the ground, I stopped the flow of chakra. As well as the movement around me. It was calm. Quiet.
I crossed my legs and sat down. Placing my hands on my thighs, palms to the sky. I closed my eyes and started to clear my mind. Grateful for the silence.
It had only seemed like a few minutes before I heard it. A faint voice growing louder by the milisecond. One second I was sitting down, the next I was up. Eyes alert and in a defensive stance.
It became louder and louder until I finally found the source. Looking up I found myself face to face with a jutsu I had never even laid eyes on before.
Sarada was falling towards the ground at a rapid pace. First stage Sharingan and all. Fist pulled back, surrounded by lighting style chakra. It resembled both Sasuke's and my own specialty moves.
"SHANAROOOOO!!!"
'There's no getting out of this.'
'Thank Kami-sama for medical ninjutsu.'
Before I could even snicker at Inner's response, Sarada made contact with the ground just beside me. For a second all was still. Then all of a sudden lighting sprung from the ground all around us, destroying the earth as it did so. Debris lifted around us as the lightning delivered a blinding white flash.
When the dust cleared and I opened my jade green orbs. I was laying in the midst of what once was the peaceful training grounds. Now it was nothing but blouder after boulder.
I sat up and groaned as I did so. Everything was sore. I'm sure that I could have created this kind of damage at at least 14 or 15. But Sarada was only 12.
'She will surpass our generation, Inner. Can you believe that?'
Inner gave me an annoyed grunt. 'Nobody thought we could surpass the generation before ours either. What's so shocking about this?' I interally rolled my eyes at her.
Taking a deep breath I stood and forced myself not to use anymore chakra. I had to save that for later. When I have to spar with a certain some one.
Doing my best to ignore the wave of pain that coursed through my body, I took a few steps toward Sarada. She stood atop a rather large boulder with a prideful smile. She jumped down and landed a few feet in front of me.
"Sarada." I paused, unsure of what to say exactly. She raised a brow and looked at me expectantly. I settled an unsteady hand on my waist where I felt a bruise forming and gave her a small smile. "Your very skilled."
Her eyes glowed with pride for a second before they went back to holding a expression impossible to read.
'Just like her father.' I thought.
'Eh. Reminds me more of us. No?' I couldn't help but agree with her. While her physical features sided with the Uchiha side of her. Her personality was almost a mirror of my own when I was a teen. A small smile graced my lips at the thought.
"Well," Sarada gave me a smile of her own. "I learned from the best." My posture faltered for a second upon hearing her words. I regained my composure and raised a brow at her.
"Is that so..." I trailed off looking around. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her give a slight nod and a faint blush ran accross her cheeks. I turned to face her again and gestured to the debris at our feet with one arm. "Have I taught you the jutsu to fix this mess?"
She shook her head. "No. When I asked after seeing you perform it, you said I wasnt big enough. You told me I needed more chakra." I nodded my head in agreement. The jutsu did take up alot of your chakra. But, she should have enough.
I thought it over for a moment before coming to a decision. "Alright. I'll teach it to you." Her eyes widened and a raw emotion flashed on her face for a split second before it was gone. She composed herself and have me a determined nod. "Hai! If I can't do at least this much, there's no way I'll become Hokage in the future!"
As soon as those words tumbled out of her mouth, I had a flashback of 12 year-old Naruto. Running around yelling people how he would become the most respected Hokage to ever live. The thought of Sarada wearing that comical hat made my heart swell with pride. And I knew she could do it.
I returned her nod and started teaching her the signs. By the time I had finished teaching her the jutsu, the training grounds were back to normal and Sasuke had arrived.
"You made it." I said, slipping of my gloves and stuffing them into my kunai pouch. "I thought you would skip or little match because you were scar-"
My words never fully made it out of my mouth. Sasuke's expression cutting me off completely. He looked panicked, and shocked.
"Sasuke-"
"It's Choji." He said, cutting me off.
"He's gone."
