Chapter 13: "I'm proud of you two."

3rd person POV:

Naruto was currently standing in the middle of the Hokage's office. Furious.

What he was doing there, you ask? Well that's simple. What else would he be doing other than yelling at the Hokage?

"Naruto, please calm down. Right now there is nothing that can be d-"

"A lot of thing could be done!" Kakashi blinked, not missing the seriousness in Naruto's tone. "Chōji is gone! We have to find him! He's one of us! He's a comrade! You never give up on your comrades! No matter what!"

Naruto shook with emotion. At the time of Chojis, "disappearance", Naruto has been out of the village on a mission. A couple days later when he came home and heard the news. He ran straight to the Hokage's office, knowing Kakashi would still be there, even if it was nearing two in the morning.

There was a knock at the door which Naruto ignored, staring down his former sensei. "Come in," Kakashi muttered. The door opened revealing a serious looking pinkette. She quickly anylized the situation and closed the door behind her. She stayed near the door, easily guessing what would happen next.

"If your not sending out any teams, I'll go myself!" Naruto turned on his heel after giving Kakashi another glare and started towards the door. He stopped in front of the tense kunoichi who stood in front of the door. Keeping him from leaving the room.

"Sakura-chan," the Jinchuriki said, "please mov-"

"No." Sakura stood her ground. Unwavering underneath the blondes dangerous gaze. Green eyes clashed with blue ones as they stared each other down. Kakashi watched his two students with caution. Knowing the amount of distruction one could cause alone, he worried for the village if they started to fight. Seriously, that is.

Naruto tried to side step her but she put her arms out. She threw him a warning glance. "Your not getting past me, Naruto. I will not let you leave. If I have to use force," she clenched her fists. "I will."

"Sakura-chan. You have to let me leave! Choji is go-!"

"I know that!" She yelled, cutting of the blondes words again. She let her gaze drop to the floor. "Don't you think I know that..." The Uzumaki's features molded into a look of shock as he saw this.

After the war, Sakura had never shown weakness. Never cried. Never gave any reason for anybody to think she was weak. Or emotional. She always kept an emotionless face unless it was to show annoyance, anger, or to show a small smile. The war changed her. Like it changed all of us. But Sakura... The Cherry Blossom of the Leaf became a shell of the once emotional kunoichi.

Naruto's hands clenched into fists, mirroring Sakura. While he wanted to run out of that building and track down Choji. He knew they had no leads. No where to start. He would be running nowhere. Not to mention, the kunoichi stading in front of him. Keeping him from leaving. He focused on her and realized she was slightly trembling. Her head hung, so he couldn't see her eyes or expression. All he knew is that his top priority was the girl in front of him.

Naruto unclenched his fists and cautiously wrapped his arms around the pinkette. She fell limp in his embrace and fell to her knees, bringing Naruto with her. Her shoulders started to shake as she cried for the first time in two years.

The Hokage watched his two former students with some sort of unidentified emotion. Unable to see it because of mask he always wore. But anybody could tell that by the way the look in his eye softened. The feeling was positive.

"Naruto.." Sakura choked on her words. For two years, she tried not to do exactly what she was doing. Falling apart. Crying. Showing weakness. But two years of stress build up had lead to this. Tears streamed down her face. She felt as his each drop that fell from her face was another worry gone.

Drip.

The hospital.

Drop.

Be strong.

Drip.

You can't cry.

Drop.

Your a member of Team 7.

Drip.

The legendary Slug Sannin's pupil.

Drop.

A student of the Sixth Hokage.

All that pressure slowly dissolving into tears that escaped their prison.

Slowly, her sobs ceased and her shoulders quit shaking. She pulled away from Naruto and gave him an appreciative look. He nodded and gave her one of his signature smiles. She returned it with a small one of her own.

Slowly standing with Naruto's support, Sakura realized something that she had long forgotten. She didn't always need to be strong. She didn't have to be lonesome in this everlasting fight we call life. She had people she loved. People she could trust. People she could rely on.

Hot tears stung her eyes once more as she stood before the Sixth Hokage with Naruto. Her hands clenched at her sides and she looked down, her bangs falling in her face.

"You two. Go home. Get some rest." Kakashi stood. "Then come back tomorrow with the rest of Konoha 11 that has their children. This information is classified. So it's important that nobody else hears of this. Understood?"

"Hai!" Naruto said, waiting for Sakura to follow.

The gazes of the Jinchuriki and the Hatake fell upon the tense pinkette. They said nothing when they saw the tears dripping off her nose. Nor did they give her looks of pity.

Sakura sniffed. "Hai."

Kakashi nodded."Good. Your dismissed."

The two shinobi nodded and took their leave. But just as they were about to walk out, Kakashi stopped them.

"Oi!"

They stopped, turning their heads. Sakura wiped her tears away and Naruto gave him a confused look.

"I'm proud of you two. And I'm so happy to be able to call myself your teacher."

Naruto grinned at the silver haired man while Sakura let out a quiet snicker. She turned around and met his gaze.

She gave him a closed eye smile, "The same goes for us Kakashi-sensei."

Naruto slowly opened the door of his small apartment. Careful to be quiet as to not wake up his son, if he was asleep.

He turned around, only to be met with Hinata. She was sitting in a chair near the door. She looked up from her book and looked at him for a second before she set her book down and walked up to him.

The Hyūga clasped her hands together in front of him and didn't say a word. For a second they were just looking at each other. That's when the Uzumaki figured out he should probably say something.

"Hey," He gave her a small wave. She raised a brow at him, and he blinked in surprise. He didn't know Hinata would be one do act... sassy? Another thought struck him.

"Why are you here, Hina-chan?"

The lavender eyed beauty sighed and crossed her arms over her chest. "When you stormed out of the apartment Baruto came to the Hyūga compound looking for me. He was panicked so I brought him back here, made him some ramen, and put him to bed." She shook her head. "What were you thinking??" She demanded in a hushed tone.

Over the last couple weeks, Hinata's stuttering habit eventually dissolved. After Naruto kissed her, he asked her to make it official. She agreed and even though Baruto fake gagged when they told him, she knew he was happy to hear the news.

The blonde's posture became slouched. "I wasnt." (A/N Perusual.) "All that went through my mind was, 'gotta find Choji', 'gotta find Choji'. I don't know what I was doing." He looked up to meet Hinata's frustrated gaze. She furrowed her brows, "You need to start thinking before you act. You can't react on impulse all the time. Don't you think about how it effects the people around you?"

He straightened and got into a defensive mode. "Of course I do!" He yelled before glancing down the hall at his bedroom where Baruto was sleeping. "Of course I do," He repeated in a quieter voice. Hinata ran her hands through her hair and gave a stressful sigh.

"Naruto," His eyes widened when he didn't hear her use an honorific. "You have a son now. Even if he's from the future, he's here. He calls you tuo-san. And no matter what he says, I know he looks up to you. If you keep acting rashly..." She balled up her hands at her sides and angrily gestured towards his bedroom door. "Imagine the negative effects it will have on him!"

Hushed tones forgotten, he quickly came up with a response. "I do think about it! You know how important bonds are to me! When I was in Kakashi-sensei's office all I could think about was you and him!"

Hinata's lavender hues widened. "N-Naruto..."

"What would I do if one of you got taken?! Huh? I-I-I-!" The blonde was cut of by the sudden embrace of the Hyuga. He almost immediatly returned the gesture. They gripped each other like their lives depended on it. She buried her face in the crook of his neck. "Gomen. Gomen. Gomen.." Naruto held the girl closer to him and took in her scent.

Little did they know, a certain young Uzumaki had been woken up by the short fight they had. He stood next to the bedroom door gripping his t-shirt where his heart was. Teeth clenched, he made a vow to become strong enough to protect those he loved.
