Chapter 6- Bethany Ann

I squeezed my eyes shut, the world of darkness letting me go. There was this annoying buzzing sound, moving along with the sound of my breathing.

I was alone wherever I was at. I couldn't feel anyone around, and I didn't understand why I felt so upset. A part of me was missing, a part that made me feel whole and worthwhile.

I furrowed my brows as I tried to open my eyes. I wanted to know where I was at, wanting to know if I was alive or not. I wanted to know why I was immobile and hooked up to whatever was beeping at me.

After struggling for a while, I was finally able to open my only to see the walls of a whitewashed room. There was a tv in front of me on the wall, and playing reruns of a show called I Love Lucy.

I blinked, clearing the fogginess that my brain had succumbed to, and looked around. I had no idea where I was, and I began to panic.

I was not able to contact my Wolf, and I felt truly alone and helpless. I struggled against my bondage as I tried to escape from wherever I was.

The beeping sound got loud, altering others that I was awake. Chaos streamed around me as people tried to get me to stop moving and get my mate.

My breathing became shallow as I struggled, my heart pounding and pounding in my chest. It felt like it was going to burst at any moment, but it never did.

A female with bright brown eyes stared down at me. She said something, but I couldn't hear what she was saying over the sound of this ringing in my ears. She shined something in my eyes before telling another person to do something.

My whole body started to feel weak as my heart started to slow down it's erratic beating. Everything started to slow down and shut off as whatever they gave me worked.

And the last thing that was on my mind was where was my mate when I needed him the most.

His soapy scent filled my nose as I came to again. His warm hand was in mine, his finger moving across the back of my knuckles thoughtfully.

I furrowed my brows as I woke up, wondering if I should be mad at him or not because he hadn't been there the first time I woke up.

'He does have to lead a pack, and he is here,' my Wolf said, groggily. 'He is here now.'

I sighed with relief when I felt her there, not feeling as hopeless as I had when she left. 'What happened? Where were you?'

She stayed silent, not replying. She knew something, but I could tell that she didn't know how to tell me whatever it was.

"Beth?" my mate asked, and I stopped questioning my wolf. Hope filled his voice, and I could tell that he was tired. "Are you awake?"

I opened my eyes and closed them because it had been too bright in the room. "Yes," I grunted out. "Too bright."

Damion sighed with relief and turned the lights off. "Now try," he said, closing the blinds.

I did what I was told to do and turned to face him. A small frown appeared on my face when I saw how tired he looked. "You should be asleep," I said, and he snorted and rolled his eyes.

"I couldn't because you weren't there beside me."

I rolled my eyes and moved over on the bed to make room for him. "Come," I grunted out. "Big Baby."

Damion hesitated but clambered onto the bed. He shifted us around until we were both comfortable and moved a hand through my hair.

I could tell that he was in deep thought and enjoying the peace and comfort that I brought by being here with him. I enjoyed it as well, but I knew that I had to share his "burden." "What is it?" I asked, looking up at him.

"Hmmm?" he asked, looking down at me. He blinked, and I could tell that he was on the verge of falling asleep.

"What are you trying to hide from me?"

He arched an eyebrow but didn't say a word.

"Damion," I warned.

"Who says I am hiding anything?" he asked.

I scowled. "Your face," I replied. "And, you are in deep thought."

Damion shrugged his shoulder. "I don't know what you are talking about," he said. "All I know is that this is my face."

"I-"

"Alpha, Luna," someone said at the door, interrupting me. She bowed her head in respect, and I could tell that she was the doctor. "I am sorry. Am I interrupting something?"

"No, no, you are not," Damion said. He moved out of the bed and stood by my side. His hand was in mine, and I couldn't help but feel comforted by it. "Do you mind if you go over her so that we both can go into our room, Bridget? I want to make sure that she is fine."

The female, Bridget, nodded her head. "Of course, Alpha," she said.

I scowled. 'This isn't over,' I said through the link between us.

'I love you.'

I grumbled. 'I suppose I love you, too.'
