Chapter 26- Damion's POV

I looked at my mate's sleeping form and bit back a small smile. My heart was filled with happiness and pure joy while I watched her sleep.

Her auburn hair caught the fiery light of the morning sun and glowed against her pale skin.

Her face was relaxed and not as guarded as it was when she was awake, her lips parted and beckoning for a good morning kiss.

So, I just did that and placed my lips gently on hers, listening to her heart skipping a beat before it pounded faster in her chest while she woke up.

My mate stirred awake, and I pulled away from her so that I could see her.

However, I couldn't get too far away because she grabbed the back of my neck and pulled me toward her, deepening the kiss between us.

I bit back a small chuckle while I kissed her and placed my hand to the side of her head to steady myself so that I wouldn't fall on top of her.

My mate growled in contentment and pressed her lips closer to mine before she pulled away and let me go so that I could move, and I bit back a small chuckle while I placed a kiss on her forehead before I moved off of her and to her side. "Mornin'," she grumbled while she moved closer to my side.

"Good morning, Beth," I said and placed another kiss on her forehead, and she closed her eyes and sighed, relaxing slightly. "How did you sleep?" I asked while I raised an eyebrow in question.

"Short," she grunted before she sighed and opened her eyes while she looked at me. "Why did you wake me up?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

"Because your lips were calling me," I teased, and she snorted and rolled her eyes, scowling. "And they were wanting to be kissed."

She grumbled and shifted her face to make sure that I wouldn't be able to kiss her again, and I couldn't help but chuckle while I rubbed her arm some more. "Now, you can't kiss them," she said, her voice muffled.

"I know," I said, "but I can kiss your head like this." I kissed the top of her head, and she grunted before she snorted. "Do you like that?" I kissed her head again.

"No," she said while she shook her head and buried her head deeper into my side. "I did not like that, at all."

"And why not?" I asked while I raised an eyebrow in question. I kissed the part of her head that I could see, and she bit back an annoyed groan while she wrinkled her nose and pursed her lips.

"Because I don't," she said while she ducked her head the rest of the way to my side so that I couldn't reach anything. "So, please don't."

I chuckled and nodded. "Ok," I said and squeezed her shoulder, reassuringly before I cleared my throat. "Do you know when you are able to go outside, today?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "Like what time, or does it really matter?"

"It doesn't matter," my mate said and shook her head before she lifted her head slightly. "We can go out later today or right now." There was a small bit of longing in her voice, and I had a feeling that she wanted to go outside now.

"Ok," I said and pulled away from her before I made my way to the edge of the bed to stand.

"Ok?" my mate asked and opened her eyes while she stared at me with wide eyes. Shock and sadness filled her eyes, and I bit back a small snort while I looked at her. "What do you mean by ok? Why did you move away from me?"

"Because you want to go outside," I replied and shrugged, "so, why don't we go ahead and get ready? Then, we can get everyone else ready to go outside. I am sure that they want to go outside, too."

My mate sighed and shook her head. She closed her eyes while she pursed her lips in annoyance. She didn't say a word, and I couldn't help but chuckle while she buried herself further into our bed and deeper under the covers.

"Are you going to get up?" I asked while I raised an eyebrow in question. "Or are you going to keep sleeping?"

"Sleeping," she replied instantly. "Are you going to go ahead and get back in bed with me?" She patted the bed beside her, and I bit back a small chuckle, amused. "Please?"

"No," I said and shook my head. "I want to get up and get ready for the day. I think I might make breakfast for a beautiful girl and her family. What Do you think?" I raised an eyebrow in question, and she rolled her eyes and scowled, her cheeks turning slightly red.

"Make sure that you have a fire extinguisher available and ready to go, Damion," she grumbled, teasingly, and I snorted while I rolled my eyes, playfully. "I don't want you to burn this whole place down to the ground. I don't want to be homeless."

I bit back a small laugh and shook my head, amused. "You won't be homeless even if I burn this place down to the ground, Beth," I teased, and she raised an eyebrow in question. "You will be living with me in the main pack house with everyone else and their families."

"You live here, now," she said bluntly, and I laughed and nodded in agreement because I did live here with her. "I don't know why you said that I that I will be living with you when I already am."

"Well, you will be living with Mike and Chloe, and everyone else that wants to live there," I replied while I shrugged. "But who says that I can't cook?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

"I do," she replied. "You are the one that almost burnt water one time." She gave me a pointed look, and I couldn't help but laugh and nod.

"That was one time, though," I said and gave her a pointed look, and she snorted and rolled her eyes while she scowled.

"One time too many," she grumbled teasingly. "It shouldn't have happened."

I shrugged and grimaced. "And I also have had an amazing teacher teach me her ways," I said, and her cheeks turned another shade of red. "Do you not trust her abilities as a teacher?" I raised an eyebrow in question, amused, while I stared at the one that I called my mate.

"No," she said instantly and shook her head, and I snickered, amused. "And I don't know why you trust her abilities to cook or teach you how to cook."

I walked over to her side of the bed, and she watched me with eyes turning more silver instead of green. "Because I know that she is an amazing cook," I said, my voice barely above a whisper before I kissed her on the lips. "She is an amazing teacher, too, and she can trust in her lovely student to cook her some breakfast. Ok?" I pressed another kiss on her lips.

She bit back a small laugh before she slowly nodded. "Ok," she said against my lips, her voice barely above a whisper. "Go and make breakfast for us, please."

I smiled and nodded. "Of course," I said. "Go ahead and get ready for the day. We'll go on the date later on today, ok?" I raised an eyebrow in question.

My mate pressed her lips into a thin line and worry flashed through her eyes. She didn't say a word before she nodded. "Ok," she said, her voice not hiding the worry in her voice. "I'll see you a bit."

"I'll see you in a bit, Beth," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I love you."

She smiled a little, but it didn't reach her eyes, and nodded. "I love you, too," she said.

And with that I turned around and walked away from her, praying that what I said was true and her little family would be safe while I took her on a date and took her away from the male that she called her father...
