Chapter 17- Bethany Ann

Someone cleared their throat by the door, and I bit back an annoyed groan because I had no idea who in their right mind would interrupt us. "I apologize for the intrusion, Alpha and Luna," the male said. "However, I think that you hear this."

Damion pulled away first and turned me around so that he could put his head on mine. "Yes, what is it?" he asked, raising his eyebrow at the male. He placed his arms around me, and I put my arms on his arms while we waited for the male, Joey, to talk. He was also annoyed, I could tell, but he knew that the pack came first, even before us. "I thought I said for you to be watching over Vincent, Joey. Do not tell me that he ordered you away from him."

Joey scoffed and rolled his eyes. "He is neither my Alpha nor my Beta," he said. "He can't order me to do something and expect me to do it. However, I thought you would like to know that he does want to see both of you as soon as possible for whatever reason."

"Then why didn't you link us?" Damion asked.

"Because both of your blocks are up, and it is hard to break them. It's harder to break the Luna's more than yours, especially when you two are in the process of making out," Joey replied. "I had asked Liam to watch over him with Reece just to make sure that he doesn't try anything."

"Why doesn't Mike or Liam take care of this?" my mate asked, raising an eyebrow.

"He won't talk to them. We've tried to get him to talk to them, but he won't. He kept saying that he wanted to talk to both of you and no one else." He set his jaw and cleared his throat. "I don't trust him."

"Don't worry, we don't trust him either," Damion said. 'What do you think he wants to talk to us about?' he asked, and I shrugged. 'Do you want to talk to him?'

I pursed my lips. I didn't want to talk to him, but I knew that I had to as the Luna of the pack. "Can he wait until tomorrow?" I asked. "When we can meet in the packhouse office and not here?"

Joey cocked his head but didn't question it. He was curious about why I didn't want to talk to him here or go over there today, but he knew better than to ask because he knew that I wouldn't tell him. "I could see," he said. "Hang on." His eyes glazed over, and I knew that he was talking to either Liam or Reece.

'What do you want to do if he doesn't want to meet tomorrow?' Damion asked.

I pursed my lips. 'We'll meet here then. However, I want to make sure that everyone is upstairs and hidden. I do not want him to see them, especially since they are in our pack and not his any longer.'

Damion hummed and nodded his head. 'And if he tries to get up the steps?'

'Then I will kick his ass.' I gritted my teeth and set my jaw, feeling very protective of my new family.

Damion chuckled. 'I will be right there to help,' he promised. He kissed the top of my head, and I closed my eyes and enjoyed the warmth he filled me.

Joey blinked and shook his head, scowling. "He doesn't want to wait," he said. "He wants to see you both now. Reece and Liam have him locked in a hall bathroom to make sure he wouldn't come over."

I bit back an annoyed sigh and nodded. "Ok. Let me get everyone else up, and then we will get him here. He is not seeing them if that is what he wants to do."

"Good," Joey said, nodding. Relief filled his eyes, and I could tell that he was happy that I wouldn't allow Vincent to see his family no matter what. "Because I really do not like that dick."

"That makes two of us," I muttered. I got out of my mate's arms and walked to where they were at with both men following me. "That makes two of us."

I leaned against the wall and watched Benjamin and one of my sisters play video games while the rest of them did something else in the living room.

Moria was on the couch, and she also watched the kids play video games with a look of compassion and guilt on her face as if she was feeling guilty that she hadn't been able to give them this, and I was able to.

I cleared my throat, and they stopped and looked at me. "Ya'll are going to need to go upstairs," I said. "Vincent is wanting to come over and isn't taking no for an answer. I don't want him to see you all because I do not trust him enough not to do anything stupid."

"But what if he tries to go upstairs?" Benjamin asked. He sat up and stared at me, looking like a little kid filled with fear instead of a male training to become an Alpha. His heart started to pound in his chest, and I could tell that he wanted to run, to leave this place and never look back.

"If he does, then we will handle him," I said. "You will not have to see him."

"And if he asks to see us?" Moria asked.

"Then he can kiss my a- butt and leave. He has no right to be here and act as if this is his space and that you all are his pack members. You are no longer part of that pack and are in mine. So, it is my duty t-"

"It is our duty to protect you and serve," Damion said, interrupting me. He placed his arm around my waist and pulled me close to him. "So, the question is, do you trust us to keep you all safe?"

They nodded and stood before they started to make their way up the stairs single filed.

"Make sure to lock your doors and keep your windows shut, locked, and hard for anyone to see in. I will contact everyone is safe."

"Ok," they chorused while they walked. The sounds of a couple of doors closing and locking filled the air, and I had a feeling that they had paired up with someone else, which was fine with me.

"I have contacted Reece and let him know that he can bring Vincent over. Both Liam and Mike are with him," Joey said. He pointed to the stairs. "I am going to sit on them and make sure that he doesn't come up and make sure that the others don't come down. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

I shook my head. "We'll be waiting for him in the sitting area and then move to the office. Thank you, Joey."

Joey nodded and went to the steps and sat down while my mate took my hand and led us to the sitting room, where we waited for Vincent, Liam, and Mike.

Damion placed a soft kiss on my head, and I closed my eyes. "I am proud of you," he whispered. "I am very proud of you, Beth."

I opened my eyes and looked at him to see the sincerity in his eyes. I offered him a small smile and nodded, glad that he was proud of me.

I had no idea what this meeting would entail, but I knew that he would not get his pack members back.

He would get them back over my dead body.
