'I'm here. The door's locked,' Mike linked me, and I moved my still sleeping mate and walked toward the door. 'Why's it locked?'

'Because it is,' I replied. I unlocked the door and raised an eyebrow at my scowling Beta. "What?" I asked.

"Where were you? The house could have burnt down, and you'd be the last to know," he said. "What type of Alpha is that?" He was teasing me, partially, I could tell that he was, but it didn't stop me from scowling at him.

"Be nice," Chloe said, smacking him. She scowled, but an amused smile was on her face as she walked in with Mike following her.

Noticing the scene of multiple bodies asleep on the living room floor, Chloe frowned and tensed. "What happened here?" she asked, looking at me.

"That is what I wanted to talk to you about," I said. "But, I want to talk in the office. I... need your help with something." I closed the door behind them and started to walk towards the office that we had down here

"Does this have to do with Vincent?" Mike asked, and I nodded. He nodded his head, frowning. He and Chloe followed me to my office, staying silent. "Well?" he asked once we were in and I closed the door behind us.

"Do you think I can get settled first before you start asking me questions?" I asked, mockingly as he sat down on the couch with Chloe beside him. I walked to the chair in front of them and sat down moving a hand through my hair.

"No," Mike said, and I rolled my eyes. He shrugged and smirked, and I shook my head. "So, does it?"

I nodded my head. "Jessica somehow had gotten a book from a council member that had a spell that could help switch a person to another pack in case they were being abused or something."

"How does this have to deal with Vincent?" Mike asked, and I looked at him. He flinched back when Chloe slapped him. "Owww what's that for?" he asked. "Why did you abuse me?"

"Because you are stupid," Chloe said. She turned to look at me. "So, when Bethany Ann did this emergency bond, it caused the pack bond connecting the person and Vincent to break?"

I nodded my head. "That is why there were more bonds connecting us," I said. I could feel the bond connecting me to my mate's family and knew that the others should have felt the shift.

"How was Bethany Ann able to do it?" Chloe asked. "She isn't a full wolf. Hell, I don't know if there would be a chance that she could even shift."

I hesitated and cleared my throat. "There is a chance that she could," I said, slowly, and they both looked at each other before they looked at me. "I found out that Bethany Ann is a hybrid."

"Well ya, she is part human and part Wolf. We already knew that," Mike said.

"Part Hunter and part Wolf," I corrected. "She is part Hunter and part Wolf. She can be made into a weapon, so we need to keep an eye her because bad Hunters could use her for their own gain."

"What?" they asked, sounding shocked. They looked at each other before looking back at me, again.

"Bethany Ann is part Hunter and part Wolf. She can be used a-"

"No, I got that, but how is she part Hunter and part Wolf?" Chloe asked, interrupting me. She rolled her eyes when I scowled. "Don't be like that and answer the question, please."

I shrugged my shoulder. "I guess that down her bloodline there was a Hunter," I said. "I have no idea what that means. All I know is that Bridget knows a guy who was able to say that she could be used as a weapon."

"What was his name?" Mike asked, and I shrugged. "I know that you know, Damion. It's not like I am going to research and get caught doing it."

"You are, and you probably will be caught," Chloe said, and he scowled at her. She pecked his lips, smiling as she pulled away and turned her attention to me. "Does he know anyone else that we know?"

I nodded my head. "He's "friends" with Jessica," I said. "And, he's "friends" with Bridget's mate."

"Bridget has a mate?" Mike asked. "Since when?"

"Don't know, and I do not want you to ask her any questions about her mate. Got it?"

Mike grumbled but nodded his head. "Fine," he said. "No asking Bridget about her mysterious mate. Why isn't he here, with us?" he asked. "I mean, the mate bond..."

I shrugged my shoulder. "I don't know," I said, honestly. "I don't think they have rejected each other. I am sure that she craves his touch, but..."

"But... what?" Mike asked.

"Maybe he isn't a Wolf like Bridget," Chloe said. She studied my face as she tried to see if she couldn't see an answer in my expression. She found something because she nodded her head and turned to look at Mike. "Maybe he doesn't have a Wolf like Bridget and is only human. He might not be able to feel the bond that is between them."

"But... Jessica is Human," he said, furrowing his brows. "She is able to feel the bond that connects her to David."

I shrugged my shoulder. "I don't know," I said, honestly. "But, it is up to her to say anything about her "relationship" with her mate."

"Anyway, back to Bethany Ann and the bodies in the room, what happened? Why are they all sleeping?" Chloe asked.

"The spell that Bethany Ann used on them took a lot of energy from all of them," I replied. "I am going to need help with the pack. They're going to need to be staying in for three days, and I need to keep an eye on them."

"Should we ask Liam for help?" Chloe asked, talking about our Gamma. "I mean, he is back in the pack from helping out others. I know that he wouldn't mind."

I nodded my head. "But, don't tell him the reason," I said. "I want to keep it between us."

"We have to tell him something," Mike said. "I mean, he is your Gamma."

"Tell him that my "father" is a total dick and that I want to be away from him," my mate said from the doorway, and we looked at the door. She looked at us with guarded eyes, her face an unreadable mask. She still looked exhausted as she used the door for support and tried to keep herself up. "I mean, that is the truth but not all of it."
