Chapter Thirty Seven

^I like that one better, which one do you?^

ALEXANDER'S POV

"No!" I growl at him.

"Please!" He begs. "I-I want to go back out! I won't go suicidal! Promise!"

I pinch my nose. "Let's ask my mother, see what she says instead."

He nods and we go upstairs to my mother's study. She pretty much stays home studying medical things and only works in the field if it's an emergency.

Andrew knocks on the door and my mother looks up at the noise. "Come in?" She says surprised. "What's going on?"

"Hello Mrs. Black." Andrew murmurs.

My mother glares at him. "I have told you more than once, call me Macy!"

I chuckles as Andrew gulps. "Macy," he corrects his mistake. "Can you tell Alexander that I am mentally stable enough to go on missions?"

She looks at me. "What are your reasons for not letting him go?"

"Amy's sister, Brenda, the girl he loves, just passed a couple days ago and I don't believe he is mentally stable enough to be going out on missions. I can't take the risk of putting both himself and other people in danger."

Gasping, my mother covers her hand with her mouth. "Why am I only hearing about his now?! How are Amy and her family taking the news?!'

"Relax, they are more or less fine, as good as anyone in their position could be."

Turning to Andrew she frowns at him. "Get out Alexander, me and Andrew are going to have a small talk."

Confused, I turn around and walk out of her study.

What's so important they had to kick me out for?

"Hey Alex," Kylie greets me. I freeze. Shit.

"H-hey Kylie, what's up?"

"Well, I'm craving some chocolate, want to go get me some?" She asks in a sickly sweet voice.

"W-well, actually, you see, I-um, we are in the middle of discussing something important a-" she cuts me off.

"Get me chocolate!" She yells at me.

"O-on it!" I squeak out before making a run for it.

It takes barely an hour before I get back home.

"Where have you been?!" Xavier hisses at me when I walk into the door.

"What are you talking about?" I ask confused.

"Your cousin had a hissy fit and now she's upstairs crying over some TV show!" He growls.

"Well I'm here now and I have her chocolate!" I hold up the bag and don't wait for his reply before I'm running back up the stairs.

Sobbing hits my ears. I follow it to the upstairs game room.

"Kylie?" I ask. Looking up at the screen I see a bunch of spanish people screaming and yelling at each other. The lady is in tears and the man is screaming and pointing at her and another guy is yelling at that guy.

"W-why Alejandra?! Why did you have to c-cheat on El Bendijo?!" Kylie sobs.

Slowly I walk towards her. "K-Kylie?"

"Why Alexander?! Why did she have to cheat on him?!"

I crouch down next to her. "Kylie, you do know that el bendijo means the stupid one, right?"

She glares at me. "Alejandra and him belong together! She never should have cheated on him with Jose, now she's pregnant with his child!" She sobs.

"I told you!" Xavier hisses at me from the doorway.  "She's a mess!"

"Here," I hand Kylie her chocolates.

She smiles at me and I quickly leave.

"I'm not going back in there!" I tell Xavier as I lean against the wall far, far away from the game room.

"No kidding."

Meow . . . Meow . . . .

"Stupid cat!" I mutter. "Why won't it shut up?!"

Xavier snickers. "You didn't have to keep it, yet you did!"

"It was either that or get beat up by a lovesick tween and dealing with a crying girl." I shudder at the thought.

The click of a door has me looking up. Andrew comes out looking slightly better than he had an hour ago.

"What did my mother say?" I ask him while watching Xavier leave in the corner of my eye.

"She says that I am to go see a therapist, and when he approves, you are to let me go back out." He says, sounding slightly annoyed.

I nod. "Go home Andrew, it's getting late, and I'm sure your parents are worried about you." I don't miss the change of emotions in his eyes when I mention his parents, but he ignores it and nods, walking off.

Glancing at my watch, I curse when I see the time.

11: 50 p.m.

Great. I'll be late to school, and I'll be needing a new alarm clock.

----

Groaning, I practically throw myself onto the chair.

"What's up with you?" Amy asks, glancing in my direction. "You've been acting like that all day."

"I went to bed late and now, instead of having gym class to wake me up, I'm going to be sitting in a stupid classroom, getting scolded at by a teacher to watch our weight and be healthy, or have her tell us not to be fools and to cover our tools."

Amy snickers. "Something funny Gocery Girl?" I whisper into her ear. She shivers and I smirk, feeling a sense of pride to myself.

"N-no?" She says.

"Are you sure?"

"Alright class! Let's start!" I lean back into my seat and face the front of the classroom. Stupid third quarter health class.

"The first type of unit we'll be covering will be teenage pregnancy." Half the class groans at Mrs. Pack's sentence. "For the first project, you will be given a baby doll who you will need to treat as an actual baby."

"Dang it!" Amy murmurs.

"What?" I raise a questioning eye at her.

"Dolls contain the devils soul, which is ironic since they have soulless eyes." She whispers back.

I snicker.

"You will be patterned up in pairs, a boy and a girl, unless you want to be paired with the same gender. Boys have been paired with their girlfriends and the rest of you have been paired randomly!" She continues.

Kylie turns around in her seat and wiggles her eyebrows at me. I give her the bird.

"Alexander!" Mrs. Pack exclaims. "That type of action will not be tolerated in this classroom. You are paired with Samantha, she will take your baby boy while you go to the principles office!" She points out the door.

Great!

AMY'S POV

I snicker as Alexander leaves the classroom.

Oh well, karma is a bitch.

"Kylie and Drake," Mrs. Pack acts like nothing happened and continues with her lesson. "Wendy and Frank, Riley and Shawn, Emily and Carl, Amy and Caleb, Lola and Jordan, Liam and . . . ."

I zone out on the rest of the names.

Amy and Caleb

Looking to Caleb, I see him wink at me. I blush and look down at my nonexistent notes.

I'm being teamed up with my middle school crush for a school project! In which we have to act like parents . . . .

"You will all be paired up in this project. Will the mother figure please come up here to choose the gender of their child? First come first serve!"

Getting up, I meet Emily half way there.

"Do you want a boy or a girl?" She asks.

Shrugging my shoulders I get in line. "I don't really care, either way, he/she is my son/daughter."

"Well I want a girl, I need one in my life." I chuckle at that.

"How are things with Nathan? Have you told your parents yet?" I ask her.

"No," she shakes her head. "Alexander is very strict about our relationship, and the only time I see him is once a week. Imagine if my parents knew, what Alexander would do."

"Boy or girl, Amy?" Mrs. Pack asks me as I reach the front.

"Surprise me," I answer. She smirks.

"Congratulations Amy! You and Caleb are now the parents of a perfectly healthy baby boy!" I smile and move to take the doll, but she holds up her hand. "And the parents of a perfectly healthy baby girl!" My eyes widen. "You had twins!"

----

"I still can't believe she gave you two dolls!" Emily exclaims while holding her little baby girl.

"Right! Ugh! I can only imagine how much fun she will have, staying up into the middle of the night, programming the little devils into crying and pooping, and oh God! I have two of them!" I would pull my hair in frustration, but both hands are full.

"At least you have Caleb to help you," she wiggles her eyebrows at the words and drags out Caleb's name.

"My eyes are gonna roll into the back of my head by the amount of times I roll my eyes at you!" I mutter.

"See you later Amy?" Kylie asks as she walks by with her baby boy.

"Yup! I'll see you later!" I shout just as her baby starts to cry.

"No, no, no! Drake! Come help me with this demon of a child!" She yells, holding the doll far away from her body and running to wherever Drake is.

Chuckling, I turn, only to stare straight into my locker with no idea how to open it.

"Oh well," I mutter and drop both dolls onto the floor as Caleb is no where near by.

'Ahh! Wahhh! Ahh!' Both dolls start crying the second they hit the ground.

"Shit, shit, shit!" Ditching my combination, I kneel onto the floor picking up both dolls.

Emily roars with laughter as I struggle to carry both of them the correct way on my arms.

"A little help here!" I yell at her.

"Carl!" She yells to her partner. "Come take the little devil!"

"Y-yes! Coming!" He stutters before picking up the doll from Emily.

"I'd help, but . . . ." Walter motions towards Frank who is hanging out with his soccer teammates.

"It's alright!" I shout over the crying. By now a lot of people have started to stare. "Sh little Kelly, shush!"

Turning to Nelson, I pick him up only to drop him again.

"Shit!" I drop Kelly to pick Nelson, only to realise what a bad idea that is after she screeches even louder. "Ugh!"

"Need help?" I look up to see Caleb smiling. Ah, those dimples.

"Ya." I say and he picks a screeching and crying Kelly off the floor.

She immediately calms down as Caleb gently rocks her asleep. Her souless eyes soon close and she goes into slumber.

"How did you do that?" I ask as I try to rock a thrashing Nelson.

He shrugs his shoulders. "I have a gift with kids."

I shake my head in silent chuckles. When I look up, my eyes land on Samantha holding her baby boy while glaring at me.

"I'll meet you outside Amy, I need to get something out of my locker first." Caleb tells me.

"Alright," I nod and turn to my locker, glad Caleb took Kelly off my arms.

Looking down at Nelson, I silently curse my luck. He's still crying.

"Frank! Come and take care of your child!" Walter shouts to Frank. "It takes two to tangle mister! She's your responsibility as well!"

"Here, give Nelson to me," Emily says holding out her arms. "I'll meet you outside with Caleb."

"Alright, see you then."

Sighing in relief, I turn towards my locker. Peace and quiet at last.

"Listen up nerd!" A voice screeches from behind.

Spoke too soon.

"Caleb is mine!" Samantha shrieks at me.

"I thought Alexander was your future husband?" I mock her.

She rolls her eyes. "Please, Alexander will never be the man Caleb is. Stay away from him, or else." Ew.

"Kind of hard to do that considering he's the father of two children whom we conceived." Well, dolls.

"Or else. Don't do something you'll end up regretting!" She turns and shashays away, taking her baby from her friend's arms.

"Uh!" I groan before shutting my locker and swinging my backpack over my shoulder.

I walk down the hall and out the doors. As I look up, the sun hits the side of Caleb's face as he smiles down at Kelly. Those dimples!

Yah, I'm not giving him up without a fight. Sorry not sorry Sam.
