Jiangxue was shocked to see the woman who had given birth to her, the woman she had longed to see all her life was finally here but how? "I'm I dead" she asked.

         "Heaven's no, if you where dead how would I be here with you" said Liliana, Snowfall's mother.

         "But you died when giving birth to me, how can you be here" asked Jiangxue tears beginning to form in her eyes.

         Liliana exchanged a confused look with her husband, Hardy. "Snowfall what are you talking about, I never died, I've always been here, how could you even say such a thing" said Liliana in distress.

          "What is snowfall and why do you keep calling me that" asked Jiangxue in confusion.

          "Hardy now I'm really extra worried, please go and call the doctor" said Liliana.

          "Of course" said Hardy as he left the room.

         "Mother what's happening, where I'm I? Why are you alive and what.... What are you wearing it's so strange and..... revealing" asked Jiangxue.

          "Snow dear just calm down, everything is gonna be alr.... Wait what do mean what I'm wearing is revealing, I dress far more decently that most women in town" said Liliana getting angry at Jiangxue's comment of her clothing.

          "I-I"

           "It's okay snow, I shouldn't have shouted at you, just relax the doctor is coming....."

         Before Liliana could even finish talking, a middle aged man in spectacles and a lab coat walked in alongside with Hardy.

       "Hello Snowfall, I'm doctor Elliot"

       "..."

      "Snowfall?"

      "..."

      "Snowfall, can you hear me?"

       "Oh your talking to me, I'm not Snowfall I'm Jiangxue" said Jiangxue timidly.

       "But doesn't Jiangxue and Snowfall mean the same thing, besides it says Snowfall on your birth certificate" asked doctor Elliot.

         "Birth cer-cer... I don't know what that means".

          "Doctor Elliot maybe we should take a brain scan and make sure there's no damages to her brain" said Liliana interrupting there conversation.

         "But we already have already taken a brain scan and it showed that there's no sign of brain damage or amnesia" replied doctor Elliot.

          "But then why is she so confused?! First said I was dead then she said her name is Jiangxue not Snowfall which is basically the same thing, then she said my attire was weird and worst of all she hasn't even acknowledged her father" said Liliana hysterically.

        "Father?" Said Jiangxue looking at Hardy for the first time "that's not my father".

         It felt as if he'd been stabbed in the heart when Jiangxue said those words.

        Isn't this the girl I took care of, loved, taught how to ride a bicycle, walked her to school on her first day. Isn't this the snowfall that looked up to me as her own personal super man, her protector, isn't she the same one I she'd tears of joy the day she was born. How could she ever say that I'm not her father, Hardy thought silently, unknown to him that that wasn't his daughter snowfall anymore.

         "SNOWFALL HOW COULD YOU SAY SUCH A THING! THIS IS THE MAN RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR BIRTH, THE MAN WHO RAISED YOU AND YET YOU SAY HE ISN'T YOUR FATHER, SHAME ON YOU" screamed Liliana in anger and frustration her face flushing to a deep red colour.

           Jiangxue was shocked by her mother's outburst. Why was her mother scolding her because of a stranger. What had she said wrong, why was here mother scolding her all because she told the truth. Why was everything so strange, why had everything changed all of a sudden. She broke down in tears, her body shaking as heart wrecking sobs coursed through her.

          "I don't know, I really don't know, I don't understand anything" Jiangxue said shakily.

          Seeing he's daughter in such a vulnerable state, harry couldn't help but reach for her. But she ached away from he's touch muttering "please, please don't touch me, I'm begging you I just wanted to be alone, I need to be alone, just go".

          Doctor Elliot who had been looking dumbstruck at Jiangxue's antics finally spoke up "Mr and Mrs Han, I think we'd best leave her alone for now, I'll send a nurse to come and take her vitals and I'll take a look at the brain scan once more but for now I think it's best she's left alone". Hardy nodded and turned to Liliana who looked like she was going to burst into tears any minute "honey, come let's go, she needs so time alone to gather her thoughts" said Hardy. Liliana just stood up and left while Hardy and doctor Elliot followed.

          Jiangxue heard Liliana crying after the door was shut which renewed her own tears.

         After some minutes of crying, Jiangxue finally stopped and began to think. She couldn't figure out why everything had changed so suddenly, nothing made sense anymore. She thought for a while until her head started aching and she decided to sleep and get some rest. Although it was hard the sleep in this new world. The she decided to think of her grandmother and the times she spent with her until she was stopped from seeing her by the heartless consort chen. 

         She remembered the stories her grandmother use to tell her. Her favorite was the people of the ignorant time. She thought of it as she drifted off to sleep.

        Flashback

       "Zumu! Zumu!! Please me a story" begged little Jiangxue.

       "What story my child" asked zumu.

        "The one of the people of the ignorant age" said little Jiangxue.

        "Ah but I told you that one yesterday and the day before" said zumu feigning boredom.

        "Please zumu, just one more time, please please please please please please please..."

         "Alright, alright I'll tell you" said zumu laughingly.

         "Yay!!" Shrieked little Jiangxue giggling and clapping in delight.

         "Many, many years after this era, there live people, people who originated from us but are not like us. They are far wiser than us. They wear different clothing, they have carriages that don't need to be pulled by horses, donkeys and camels or carried by humans. The also have large carriages that fly up in the skies like birds. They invented many things, easier ways of doing things, faster ways of communication and new and more efficient means of treatment. They are very fascinating people with great means and great ideas".

         "Woooowww" exclaimed little Jiangxue in awe "but zumu if there so great and amazing the why are they called the people of the ignorant age".

        "Because my child, most of them have forgotten there roots, they've forgotten there culture and there values and they've forgotten to thank the one who gave them all of this blessing. They have knowledge at there finger tips yet they fail to use it. That my child is why they are called the people of the ignorant age".

          End of Flashback

         Jiangxue shot up from the bed, her eyes wide with sudden realization. Of course it all made sense now, she thought. It seems that mystical have pendent was a tool of bringing her here, to the people of the ignorant. But what she didn't understand was that was there someone else living the life that she's living now or was this whole thing created from that Jade pendent. And if there was someone how is she supposed to take that person's place when she knew nothing about this strange land and people. She was still thinking when a knock at the door made her jump out of her thoughts.

         "Snowfall it's me your mother, can I come in?" asked Liliana's voice from behind the door.

        Of course in this world I have a mother who can help and protect and guide me but she doesn't know that I don't know about this world, or should I tell her something is wrong with my head and that I can't remember anything, yes I think it will be better as that Jiangxue thought silently.

        "Snowfall are you there" Liliana's voice called out from behind the door once more.

        "Yes mother, come in" replied Jiangxue. Liliana opened the door and stepped closer to her bed hesitantly. She sat down at the chair next to the bed and took Jiangxue's hand in hers.

        "Snowfall I'm sorry I shouted at you, I know that if you were alright you would never say such a thing like that. It's just that it was so painful to hear you say that especially how much you and Hardy use to love each other. Snow we really don't know what happened to you, the brain scan shows that you suffer no damages so I'm not sure where the problem is from. Although we did find something, there were red marks on your back like you had been beaten. Some of them look quite old while the others look quite recent".

         Jiangxue froze at the mention of the marks on her back. She still remembered the pain from the number of times that she had been beaten by Mingxiang and consort chen all because her father never cared about what happened to her.

        "Snow, snow" Jiangxue was snapped out of her thoughts by Liliana's voice once more.

       "Snow are you alright" asked Liliana worriedly.

       "Yes mother I'm fine" assured Jiangxue forcing a smile on her face.

        "Okay I was asking that who hit you to you remember who bullied you and hit you this badly" asked Liliana.

         "No mother I don't remember anything" said Jiangxue shaking a head a little too quickly.

        "Are you sure" asked Liliana suspiciously.

        "I'm serious mother I don't remember anything" replied Jiangxue.

        "Alright" Liliana conceded "I'll get some lotion to remove the marks from your back".

        "Okay mother" replied Jiangxue.

         "Call me Mom, snow" said Liliana.

         "Alright ... Mom. Mom even though I don't have my old memories, I can tell that you love me and you want the best for me, and I hope that we can create new memories and hope that they'll last" said Jiangxue.

        Tears began to pool in Liliana's eyes. "Yes, yes we can make new memories" said Liliana as she pulled Jiangxue into a hug. She immediately return the hug relishing the feeling of being in a mother's arms.

         After a while, Liliana pulled out from the hug. "Snowfall even though you don't remember much about your father but I promise you'll love him. He truly does love. Please just give him a chance".

         At the mention of Hardy, the smile froze on Jiangxue's face. She managed a stiff nod.

        Liliana smiled "good girl, I'll go get you something to eat, the nurse we'll come and take your vitals and give you your medicine soon. I'll be back soon, love you" she said as she kissed Jiangxue's cheek and walked out of the room.

           Jiangxue rested her chin on her knees. She would never trust any man, not Hardy, not anyone. There was only one man she trusted and he wasn't here with her anymore.
