Ancient times

The pair of brown eyes creased in the middle at Snowfall's question. "Jiangxue what do you mean, it's me consort Yi your foster mother" said consort Yi in confusion.

"what do you mean by my foster mother, where is my real mother? and why does this place looks like I stepped over a thousand years back in time? Where the hell I'm I?!" asked Snowfall panicking.

"Jiangxue calm down, I don't understand what you're saying" said consort Yi slowly getting more worried.

"Why do you call me Jiangxue instead of Snowfall" asked Snowfall.

"Jiangxue just lie down here I'll go and get the physician he'll understand what's happening here" said consort Yi in a worried yet confused voice.

As consort Yi left her, she tried to sit up which proved to be quite the difficulty. Her back ached and her head hurt to. She touched her head only to discover it was bandaged like she had an injury.

She decided to look around her new surroundings. The walls where made of wood just like the ancient houses she saw in ancient Chinese movies and drawings of the ancient zhuo dynasty in history the books that she read. Even though it was ancient looking the room looked worn out, the ceiling had leaks, the furniture looked old and faulty.

"What happened to me" Snowfall wondered out loud. She tried to recollect what happened before she got there. She remembered stealing the museum keys and finding a secret entrance where she found a beautiful yet mystical looking pendent where she saw her reflection looking back at her and touch it before everything went black and now she was in a room that looked like those of the ancient zhuo dynasty's.

Maybe I should look outside maybe it's just an old house she thought. She looked outside and everything had changed from the bustling Shanghai city to an ancient looking manor. She realized that she was no longer in the twenty first century anymore. She stumbled backwards as she whispered to herself "I've traveled through time" her eyes widening with realization of what her curiosity had gotten her into.

Just then the door burst open and consort Yi along side with a man in white robes came in. "Jiangxue what are you doing out of your bed when you're sick, go and lie down now" said consort Yi authoritatively. Snowfall quietly complied. Then the physician began checking her pulse then her wounds. "Jiangxue do you remember how you fell into the pond" asked the physician, Snowfall shook her head. "But do you remember anything else" asked the physician and got the same reply from her.

"Consort Yi" said the physician "it seems that when Jiangxue was falling into the pond she hit her head and lost her memory".

"What do you mean lose her memory she can't lose it, how can she forget everything just through a single head wound" said consort Yi in disbelief.

"Well consort Yi we don't control our brains our brains control us and we can't do anything about it, we just have to pray for the best" said the physician as he stood and took he's leave, while consort Yi stared at an empty space in the wall.

"Consort Yi" Snowfall called out hesitantly "since I can't remember anything can you please tell me about my past" initially consort Yi didn't reply but when Snowfall was almost sure she wasn't getting an answer consort Yi said "I'll tell you". She told Snowfall everything about Jiangxue's past.

At the end of it all, Snowfall fully understand how Jiangxue's life had been before the and the pain she and consort Yi had to go through because of her mother's death.

She swore to herself Jiangxue I promise I will avengers every bad treatment you have received in this house and I promise to get you your rightful position in this manor.

Consort Yi said "Jiangxue I know that this all hard to take in, I just want you to be strong and know that I'll always be there for you, I'll go get you some porridge you must be hungry".

"Okay mother" replied Snowfall.

At the mention of the word mother, consort Yi beamed and her eyes became glassy. She said "even though you have lost your memory I still believe that my Jiangxue lives within you". With that she left leaving Jiangxue to her own thoughts.

Later that day, Snowfall was alone in her room lying on her bed when a voice called out "consort chen arrives" and a woman dressed in expensive clothing and jewelry emerged. "Jiangxue dear, I heard you fell into the pond. How are you feeling now my child" said consort chen smiling although her smile didn't reach her eyes.

So this is consort chen, why is she acting so nice. She must be up to something. Let's wait and see shall we then.

"Greetings consort chen. Unfortunately I can't remember anything so I don't recognize you" said Snowfall with an apologetic look on her face.

"I heard all about it, I'm sorry child but being in the pond for so long you must have caught a cold, so I brought this medicinal soup along with me it's good for your health and will cure your cold in no time. Here drink it" said consort chen offering her a bowl of soup.

Ah so you want to poison me consort chen. Well you've messed with the wrong look alike. Just wait and see what I'll do.

"Consort chen is so kind to Jiangxue, it would be rude not to accept such a generous gift from you consort chen, although now I don't feel like drinking it I'll drink it later" said Snowfall.

"No it's best you drink it now that it's hot when the effect is strong if you drink it later when it's cold it will make no improvement to your health. Please drink it xue'er" said consort chen persuasively.

"Alright then if father's consort insist who I'm I to refuse" said Snowfall. At this statement, consort chen beamed with a devilish glint in her eyes.

As Snowfall brought the bowl to her lips and took a sip, she suddenly cough spilling all the contents of the bowl on consort chen while saying hoarsely "hot! Hot!! Hot!!! So hot!".

Consort chen screamed out loud saying "you infected little wrench look what you've done" all her kind and motherly facade evaporating from her.

"I'm so sorry consort chen, let me clean that" said Snowfall as she picked up a dirty rag from the floor, scrubbing it a over consort Chen's face and body, getting even more dirt on her and spreading the soup the places it had been before.

"Stop it! Stop it!!" Consort chen screamed "look what you've done, you'll pay for this Han Jiangxue you surely will!" And with that she stormed out of the room looked like a dirty foot rag.

Oh consort chen I haven't even started my revenge. This was only an appetizer, the real fun is about to begin.
