three

For the purposes of this story, I will not be following the actual draft that happened back in 2016 to a tee, the only major differences include the Women's division and Cruiserweight division. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the chapter.

With the draft coming up, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for the company to debut me. However, they had other things in mind. As they believed I could really shake up the women's division, they wanted to save my appearance for a Monday Night Raw after the draft. Why they wanted to, I didn't know. My contract signing with the company was not put out to the public, only to intensify my debut in the next couple of weeks. I understood what they were trying to do with my character, but I just really wanted to get back into that ring.

One of the next shows was set to take place in Hartford, Connecticut. The company was nice enough to allow me to stay in the same hotel I've been in since I came to the States. For the mean time, I kept up my training at a local gym and even went for runs in a nearby park. I made sure I was in tip-top shape before my debut. I was counting down the days at this point.

I found myself sitting on my bed in front of the television the night of the draft. The company seemed especially stressed during this time, so I was somewhat grateful that they didn't try to rush my debut and have it fall flat. On the other hand, I wish I could've been there to just be in the moment of it all.

As the event started, the four possible general managers walked on the stage. No one knew who would be controlling which show yet. Soon their questions were answered as Shane McMahon and Bryan "Daniel Bryan" Danielson headed to the Raw podium and Stephanie McMahon and Michael "Mick" Foley made their way to the Smackdown LIVE podium. The fans roared in appreciation for the new leaders of the shows.

I grew curious as to who the first picked out be for both brands. However, I was surprised that it wouldn't be one person being drafted, but that it would be two groups of people. Bryan went on to explain that the entire Women's division would be going to Raw since the division was so small and was just starting to get their change in the company; they didn't want to ruin what they had going for them. On the other hand, the entire Cruiserweight division would be going to Smackdown instead of being split between the two.

That news was astronomical. It meant that there was more room for competition in the Women's division and more for the creative team to work with when it came to writing storylines. I grew excited to see what they would be coming up with.

After the excitement died down, the proceeded with the picks. For Raw, Colby "Seth Rollins" Lopez was picked first; Smackdown countered with John Cena. Throughout the picks, the company decided to hold some matches to get the fans excited before the next pick.

At the number three pick, Smackdown went first and picked Goldburg, which garnered a huge pop from the crowd. Raw knew they had to step it up if they wanted to get the fans excited to watch Raw. Much like the fans at the event, I was surprised that their number three pick was none other than Fergal Devitt himself. My whole body froze as I watched the feed change to one down in NXT, the company's developmental grounds, and focus on Fergal, who had the biggest smile on his face.

My heart dropped and I suddenly found it hard to breath. Scrambling for the remote, I instantly shut off the T.V. as I felt tears form in my eyes. I angrily wiped them away with the back of my hand. However, a big sob racked my body and caused more tears to form and fall.

I knew I was bound to cross paths with him at least one point in my career, but now that it was happening, I was terrified. What he did to me back in Japan three years ago I could never forgive him for. All I could do at this point is hide behind my mask and heel persona and try to make the most of things.

My debut came around in what seemed like a blink of an eye. As time progressed and the show neared, I found my body shaking more and more with nerves. Thoughts ran through my head as I started to head to the arena: what if the fans didn't like me; what if my co-workers didn't like me; what if they don't have a clue what to do with me. I pushed those thoughts aside as we pulled into the parking lot of the arena. I thanked the driver before getting out of the vehicle and grabbing my bags from the back. My backpack was thrown over my shoulders and I pulled the handle up on my suitcase before heading in.

A tall man in a suit then approached me before I left the parking lot. He held up a hand to tell me to stop, which I did.

"Are you Luna Montoya?" He asked in a monotone voice.

"Yes." I replied simply.

"Put your hood up and these glasses on. Shane's orders." He instructed without any explanation as he handed me a pair of aviators.

I nodded and grabbed the glasses from his hand. After putting them on and pulling my hood up, the man turned and led me into the building.

As we walked, I could hear the commotion of setting up the show as well as many trying to communicate to one another. People walked by us with crates and scripts as the show was set to start in a couple hours. No one seemed to notice me or acknowledge me, which was a good thing. I did happen to see a couple familiar faces, though, as we headed towards Shane's office. Claudio and his girlfriend, Alyx "Maisie Lyx" Matteo, were making their way towards their own locker rooms as they talked about Shane's introduction for the show. Kevin was reading over a script on one of the empty crates and occasionally taking a sip of his coffee. Jonathan "Dean Ambrose" Good stood talking to his off-screen girlfriend Renee "Young" Paquette. A wave of comfort came over me to see some familiar faces from past promotions.

Finally, we made it to Shane's office without me being noticed. The man knocked twice as we waited for a reply. A low "Come in" sounded from inside, causing him to open the door and motion me inside. I thanked him and stepped into the room.

Shane looked up from his work with a big smile on his face. I removed my hood and glasses and smiled back.

"Ms. Luna Montoya. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I've heard so many positive things about you." He rose from his seat to meet me in a handshake.

"Thank you so much. I'm grateful that the company decided to take a chance on me." I smiled back and removed my hand from his. He motioned me to sit down in the seat in front of him.

"I'd like to apologize for the wait the company gave you. We were all wrapped up with the draft and that was our main priority at the time. We want you to know you've been on our radar since you left Japan. We're very excited to have you on board now with us."

"I understand. That means a lot that you guys have been interested in me for that long. I hope I can elevate the division in the ways you see fit."

"Well, just by looking at your list of accomplishments and watching some of your matches from the past, I believe you have a bright future here in WWE." He grinned, causing me to smile back. He then leaned forward on his desk, his hands held together in front of him as his grin grew into a smile, "So, why don't we discuss your debut?"

To start off the show, Shane and Bryan called out the entire Raw roster to talk about the future of the show and changes they were going to be making. Wave after wave of people started to head out towards the stage.

Everyone headed out, but me. This was all a part of Shane's idea for my debut. I was instructed to stay in his office until everyone made their way out onto the stage; they didn't want to risk someone seeing me.

While I waited, I picked at the end of my leather jacket and played with the braid that the makeup crew put in her hair while they did my makeup (Imagine her hair is kinda like how Becky gets her's styled with the braids and curls). With my debut at any moment, my skin started to cover with goosebumps. I wondered if I was really ready to do this. I rubbed my hands together, a nervous habit, and let out a couple deep breaths to calm down. My heart was starting to slow down, but that wouldn't last long.

"Luna," My head shot up towards the door where one of the stage hands stood, "They are ready for you."

I let out another breath before following them to the gorilla position.

From backstage, I could hear Shane and Bryan talk about the success the superstars had the following night at Battleground. They also started to talk about the changes that would be made to the company. First of all, the WWE Champion, although united not long before, would go back to being the WWE Championship and World Heavyweight Championship respectively; the WWE title would stay on Raw and the World Heavyweight title will be going to Smackdown LIVE. They also talked about doing a series of matches to crown a number one contender for the title. The winner will face Colby at SummerSlam.

When I reached the gorilla position, Bryan started to talk about the women's division. Since they had a lot of people to work with, they decided to take a similar tactic as the WWE Championship and hold series of matches to decide a number one contender for the Women's title. The winner would face Mercedes "Sasha Banks" Kaestner-Varnado at SummerSlam.

Shane then went on to talk about the matches for the evening, in which the first of the women's matches would be held. He called forward the contenders, which included Alexis "Alexa Bliss" Kaufman, Leah "Carmella" Van Dale, and Natalie "Natalya" Neidhart-Wilson, for a fatal-four-way match. Shane then stopped, causing the fans and the superstars on stage to grow confused.

"The last competitor of the match will actually be making her WWE debut. She has wrestled all around the world and is a muti-time champion. And she is definitely ready to take the division by storm." He gestured towards the stage as a murmur came over the crowd.

The stagehand started to count down from three as my music started to hit. A large roar came over the crowd as many seemed to recognize me. When the stagehand hit zero, I pushed back the curtain and headed onto the stage.

A path was cleared amongst the superstars that I and a cameraman could walk though. As I entered the stage, my body faced sideways to the camera with my head down. When the cameraman approached me, I turned my head. looking down the camera, and then slowly made my way to the front of the stage. Those who I passed had looks of shock as they seemed to recognize me. Some even whispered things like "That's Luna." and "She's the hottest free agent right now." Making my way to the front of the stage, I stood between Alexis and Nattie, surveying the crowd.

"Please welcome our newest Superstar, Luna!" Bryan called, garnering a huge cheer from the crowd. I found myself smiling under my mask.

I raised an arm over my head and pointed towards the ceiling. The fans gave another cheer over that. I then turned to my left and spotted Mercedes standing next to Pamela "Bayley" Martinez. I pointed my finger at her and changed it to look like a gun. I pretended to shoot her, which the fans cheered louder over.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a certain Irishman, causing my heart to drop. Fergal looked at me in complete awe, as if he couldn't believe that I was really there. I suspected a confrontation would be happening later, so I tried to mentally prepare myself for it.

I lowered my hand and turned my attention back towards the two men in the ring.

Not even two seconds backstage, I heard my name being called. My heart dropped and I instantly started to tear up over the sound of his accent before I turned around.

Fergal approached me, with this expression of hope and happiness to see me on his face. I wrapped my arms around myself to close myself off.

"I can't believe you are here." His smile was bright as he took a step towards me. I got scared and took a step back, my arms shook slightly. Confusion washed over him over my sudden movement, "Lun, what's wrong?"

"Don't call me that." I spoke softly, tears threatening to fall. I know it may have looked like I was causing a scene, but this was the first time I'd been confronted by him since leaving Japan.

"I...I don't understand." His voice softened and his eyes looked sad. "Aren't you happy to see me? It's been two years since-"

"You honesty think I'm happy to see you?" My voice quivered and a couple tears fell. I wiped them away with the back of my hand, making a note to go see the makeup crew soon. "Fergal, you fucking broke me. You broke me back in Japan. What you did to me...I can never, ever forgive you for." A sob hit me and I hugged myself tighter to try and compose myself.

He looked shocked just at the fact I called him by his first name. I never called him by his first name in Japan; it was always "Devitt" to me. He took another step closer and reached his hand out towards me.

"I know what I did was wrong, but let me fix it. Please?" His voice sounded desperate and his bottom lip quivered a little, as if he was going to start crying himself.

I shook my head and took a couple steps back, "You can't..." With that, I turned and rushed down the hall towards the makeup crew, leaving a sad Fergal by himself in the middle of the hallway.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter. How did I do? Let me know in the comments. Anyways, thanks for reading. And until next time, heart you. <3
