Chapter 66

"Auntie, Krystal, don't worry. I'll find Uncle. I promise I'll find him."

"Do you have any news about my dad?" Krystal asked anxiously.

Taehyung hesitated briefly before responding, "There's a small lead..."

Krystal locked her eyes onto his. "Really?"

"Yes. I'll go check it out right now," Taehyung assured her.

As he left the room, Taehyung knew they had indeed found a faint clue about Krystal's father's location. Her father should be in Seoul, but pinpointing the exact place proved challenging. Taemin's unpredictability was a significant concern, and Taehyung couldn't afford to waste any time.

He proceeded to Taemin's room, where Yoongi was stationed outside and intercepted him. "President Lee doesn't want to see you."

Taehyung was persistent. "I have something important to discuss with him."

"What is it?" Yoongi inquired.

"I need to meet him."

"I'm sorry," Yoongi responded firmly. "President Lee needs to rest. He doesn't want to see with you."

Taehyung fell silent for a moment before asking, "Are you the one handling Krystal's father?"

Yoongi hesitated, his lips tightly sealed. On his way back to the room earlier, he had pondered Taemin's words in Krystal's room. Taemin was currently in a weakened state, and he hadn't given Yoongi any further instructions. The doctor was presently examining him in his room.

"You still have some time," Yoongi whispered, glancing around cautiously. "President Lee is in critical condition, and he hasn't given us any instructions."

Despite being one of Taemin's loyal associates, Yoongi had a conscience.

"Thank you," Taehyung acknowledged, appreciating Yoongi's assistance. He knew they had a window of opportunity to find Krystal's father.

Meanwhile, Taemin felt as though he had emerged from a personal hell. After returning from Krystal's room, his entire body felt weak, and he had lost consciousness. He had thought he might die, but he had survived.

Opening his eyes, he stared at the ceiling for a moment, then suddenly yelled, "Min Yoongi!"

Yoongi rushed inside the room upon hearing Taemin's voice. "President Lee, you're awake. What would you like to eat? I can arrange..."

Taemin raised his hand to interrupt him. "I need you to do something."

Yoongi felt a sense of tension in the room. He had a hunch about what Taemin was going to ask of him.

"I don't care how you choose to do it, but I want Krystal's father dead. You have one day. By tomorrow, I want confirmation that he's no longer alive..."

"President Lee, this..." Yoongi hesitated, knowing the gravity of the request.

Taemin fixed a cold gaze on him. "What's the matter? Are you considering defying my orders?"

"President Lee, if you go through with this, Mrs. Lee will never forgive you..." Yoongi cautioned.

Taemin responded icily, "I don't want her forgiveness. In fact, I'd rather she hate me. She killed my child, twice. I want her to know the pain of loss..."

"But, President Lee, don't you love her? You..."

"Min Yoongi, I don't appreciate people questioning my orders. Just do as you're told."

Yoongi understood that he had no choice. "Alright, President Lee."

Taemin provided him with Krystal's father's location and handed over a key. "Here's the key."

Yoongi returned home and retrieved a bottle of expensive wine he had been keeping hidden for a long time. Then, he drove to the location Taemin had specified – a private building.

There was a guard at the door, but Yoongi used the key to unlock it and entered. To prevent Krystal's father from escaping, all the windows and doors were locked, leaving him with no way out.

Krystal's father was seated in the living room, assuming that the person entering was the maid, so he paid no attention.

"Mr. Jung," Yoongi said, walking into the living room with a bottle of wine and some food, placing them on the table.

Krystal's father glanced at him suspiciously. "Why is the food and drink so lavish today?"

Yoongi grabbed two glasses and poured wine, handing one to him. "Let's have a drink, shall we?"

Krystal's father studied Yoongi for a moment. "You're Lee Taemin's assistant, correct?"

"Yes," Yoongi confirmed.

"Did he instruct you to kill me?" Krystal's father asked, surprising himself with the question, causing Yoongi to tense up.

Krystal's father let out a cold laugh. "You don't need to tell me. Lately, they've just been serving me food and leaving. But today, you came to keep me company. You even brought a bottle of wine. You're prepared to sit here and talk with me, then kill me once we're done, right? Or have you poisoned the food or the drink?"

"Mr. Jung..." Yoongi began, but Krystal's father waved his hand dismissively.

"For matters of life and death, I can accept it at my age," he said. "I just hope that my daughter can live happily and well. Her happiness is my happiness. When Taemin took me away, he told me he would release me when Krystal gave birth to the child. Now, if he's sent you to finish me off, that means the baby is dead. I'm very relieved!"

"He doesn't deserve my daughter. How could a man like him deserve of having my daughter give birth to his child?" Krystal's father's eyes filled with hatred. "This lifetime, he doesn't deserve to be a father."

He reached for the glass. "I prefer white wine, but I'll try this one." He took a gulp and savored it. "It's quite nice, but I still prefer white wine..."

Yoongi served takeout food. "Mr. Jung, don't just drink the wine, have some food."

Krystal's father examined the dishes. "Are these dishes drugged?"

"No," Yoongi replied honestly. In truth, he hadn't considered that approach. Frankly, he couldn't bring himself to do it.

He could do many things for Taemin, after all, he had a favor to return. But he couldn't commit murder. He still had a sister to take care of. If something happened to him, what would become of his sister's fate? Yet Taemin had asked him to do it.

"What's your plan to kill me? How did Taemin instruct you to do it?" Krystal's father inquired.

"Mr. Jung, let's not discuss that now. Let's enjoy the wine," Yoongi deflected.

Krystal's father nodded. "I also prefer not to dwell on it. I just have one last request: don't let me suffer for too long. A quick death is better."

Yoongi sighed, saying, "Alright."
