Why are parents so keen on those expensive universities they know we won't get in? My dad's face dropped when I told him,'hey I will go to community college to do pre req's and then a medical school.'

Medical is school is not cheap. Chances are, I will have to go out of state for when the time comes. So why spend so much on the stuff before that? I know college apps. cost money to apply. So why spend it on places you know full on that I won't get in?

Prestige? That sh*t don't matter once you get the damn job. 

Bragging rights? Ah yes, I am spending over 100k a year to go to XX University.

None of this appeals to me. 

But why should I care? I am not even a senior in high school.
