INT. DANCE STUDIO – LATER

Torin and Danny enter.

DANNY

I didn't know you took dance lessons.

TORIN

I dabble.

Javier enters.

TORIN

Javier.

JAVIER

Look who it is. My favorite student.

They air kiss. 

JAVIER (CONT'D)

Have you been practicing?

They jump into an amazing routine, finishing with a flourish.

DANNY

Dabble?

TORIN

Once or twice a week. This is Danny. He's writing a commercial jingle and could use a little spark.

JAVIER

You came to the right place. The floor is magic for the mind.

DANNY

No offense, but what does writing a song have to do with fancy footwork?

JAVIER

In order to truly release the music, one must shake it loose and free himself. Right now you are as wound as a Spanish guitar. When the music plays, I want you to dance with your heart and wave your hands in the air like you do not care, yes?

He turns on the stereo and music plays. Danny attempts a two-step, but is too embarrassed to commit. Javier stops the music.

JAVIER

No, no, no. What is this? The oscillating fan? Release. (shaking Danny) Let the music flow, Guitar Strings.

DANNY

It's Danny.

JAVIER

Then show me, Danny.

He plays the music again. Danny moves to the beat, getting a little more into it with each step.

JAVIER

There he is, ladies and gentlemen.

Torin hands Javier the bag of Guaco Taco Nachos.

JAVIER (CONT'D)

Now show me spicy.

Danny hops from one foot to the other as if stepping on hot coals.

JAVIER (CONT'D)

Now show me citrus.

Danny puckers and squints his eyes.

JAVIER (CONT'D)

Now sing whatever your heart desires.

DANNY

(singing)

Spicy with a bite.

It's a party all night.

¡Olé!Olé!Olé!

Javier and Torin sing and dance along. Javier spins Torin to Danny. Danny catches her.

DANNY

You know what would make this song even better. Dip.

Danny goes to dip Torin but she twirls and dips Danny instead.

TORIN

I've always had trouble not taking the lead.
