EXT. SWIRLY GO ROUND – LATER

Caleb stands in the truck at the window. A sample sits before him. Marvin walks up to the window.

CALEB

Marvin. Just the man I wanted to see.

MARVIN

(suspicious) Really? Why?

CALEB

Your vision of going organic is brilliant. You've inspired me. So, I've created my own healthier alternative.

He offers Marvin the sample. Marvin tastes it. He gags.

MARVIN

What is that?

CALEB

It's grass flavored ice cream. From my own backyard. Creating recipes from scratch is the only way to get a purely organic product.

MARVIN

I guess you're right...

CALEB

Glad we're on the same page because I have a huge surprise waiting outside that I think you're going to love.

Caleb exits the truck and leads Marvin behind it where Mae is waiting with a cow. Marvin is stunned.

CALEB (CONT'D)

Introducing our very own Swirly cow.

MARVIN

A cow?

CALEB

I figured it was the only way to get quality organic milk. What's more natural than nature? I also think we should build a garden so we can grow our own fruits and veggies. It'll take a lot of hard work, but you're the manager. You've got this.

MARVIN

Maybe going organic wasn't the best idea. Who needs seaweed ice cream anyway?

Lance enters.

LANCE

Seaweed ice cream?

CALEB

Lance!

He runs over and hugs Lance.

CALEB (CONT'D)

If you ever decide to leave again, take me with you.

Lance pulls Caleb off of him.

LANCE

It's funny. When Marvin sent me to Wisconsin to check up on Aunt Lucille, not once for five hundred miles did it occur to me that we don't have an Aunt Lucille.

He turns to Marvin for an explanation. Marvin throws his head back and sighs.

MARVIN

I sent you away because I wanted my shot at being a part of the family business. Father didn't think I had it in me. I thought that if I had the chance to run the Swirly, I would prove him wrong and be good at it. Better even.

LANCE

But you're not.

Marvin lowers his head in shame. Lance puts a hand on his shoulder.

LANCE (CONT'D)

It's true that you don't have any talent in the ice cream department whatsoever, but that's perfectly fine. You have other gifts like...the impulse to be excited about the craziest things.

Marvin perks up, thrilled.

MARVIN

You really think so?

LANCE

Absolutely. One day you will find the right job that fits you. It just won't be here.

MARVIN

Thanks, Lance. Bro hug!

He and Marvin hug. Caleb joins in. Marvin gives him a look.

MARVIN

This is family business.

Lance pulls Caleb in.

CALEB

Caleb is the most loyal worker I know. He is family.

Marvin rolls his eyes.

MARVIN

Bring it in.

The three of them hug. Mae hugs the cow.
