Mrs. Shannon walks down the aisle handing each student a piece of paper.

MRS. SHANNON

Your aptitude test scores are in. Based on the skills you've shown, each of you have been assigned jobs that will help you experience the careers you've been matched.

Ariella turns to Mae.

ARIELLA

I think we all know what career my future holds.

Mrs. Shannon hands Ariella her scores.

ARIELLA

What did I tell you? You are looking at the world's most fabulous—guidance counselor? Mrs. Shannon, I think there's been a mistake.

Mrs. Shannon continues to distribute the scores.

MRS. SHANNON

It's not a mistake. That test is very accurate. You will be replacing me as guidance counselor for the next two days.

ARIELLA

But...

Caleb swings around in his seat, showing Ariella his results.

CALEB

I'm going to be a fashion designer!

ARIELLA

So, will retakes be today or tomorrow?

MRS. SHANNON

All results are final. Which means, Caleb, you will...just continue to do whatever it is you've been doing.

Mrs. Shannon hands Mae and Torin the last of the scores and sits at her desk.

MAE/TORIN

Police officer?

They lock eyes.

MRS. SHANNON

That means you too will be working together as hall monitors. I want all of you to really dive into your new jobs and explore the skills your tests believe you have. These could one day be the careers you pursue for the rest of your lives.

Ariella stares at her test, dumbfounded. Mae eyes Torin who wears a smile.

MAE

We're doomed.
