INT. YVONNE'S HOUSE – LATER

Ariella and Danny enter. The room is full of high school sweethearts enjoying themselves. Except for Yvonne and Adam.

YVONNE

You want space?

She moves to the door and yanks it open.

YVONNE (CONT'D)

There. All the space you need.

Adam exits and she slams the door behind him. She turns to her startled guests and puts on a smile.

YVONNE

Don't you just love love?

She snatches another couple's cup of ice cream, stuffs her face and exits. Ariella sees Caleb at the counter serving the ice cream.

ARIELLA

I'll be right back.

She walks over to Caleb. He offers her a cup of ice cream with two spoons.

CALEB

Today's Swirly special: The Love Cup. Sorry. We're all out of whipped cream.

ARIELLA

You couldn't have thought of this sooner? Just out of curiosity, why'd you break up with me?

CALEB

I saw you with Danny in the storage closet. I thought that if you were going to the party, he should be the one you went with.

ARIELLA

But...(beat) Would you like to dance? With a friend?

CALEB

I'd love to.

They move to the dance floor. A ballad is playing and they're unsure of what to do. The music transitions into an uptempo beat. Now more comfortable, they let loose.

Danny stands off to the side eating ice cream. A girl approaches him.

GIRL

About that Love Potion. Does it really make girls fall in love?

Danny laughs.

DANNY

Of course not. That's just marketing stuff to make people buy it. I do pretty well on my own, so I've heard.

She smiles. Her boyfriend sees what's going on and leads her away, glaring back at Danny. Ariella and Caleb continue to have a good time on the dance floor.
