INT. CASTING WAITING ROOM – LATER

Danny paces the room. Raoul enters from the audition room, pleased with himself.

RAOUL

You are free to go. The part is as good as Raoul's.

DANNY

Don't be so sure about that because Danny...Let's just get this over with.

The casting director enters. He's about to announce who got the part when Torin intercepts.

TORIN

Not so fast.

RAOUL

Whatever you say, mon cheri.

He offers his hand.

TORIN

Save it, Slick. This guy is a fraud.

RAOUL

I have no idea what you are speaking of.

Torin takes out a certificate.

TORIN

Torin has a birth certificate from Boston that says you do. Your accent is phonier than your hair color.

RAOUL

(Boston accent) She's lying!

He touches his hair.

RAOUL

This is all natural. I can't work like this. I'm out of here.

He storms out. The casting director turns to Danny.

CASTING DIRECTOR

Congratulations. You've got the part.

DANNY

Did I originally get the part?

CASTING DIRECTOR

Do you really want to know?

DANNY

I think we're good. Thank you.

The casting director exits.

DANNY (CONT'D)

I couldn't have done it without my leading lady.

He kisses Torin's hand. She smiles.

TORIN

Much better.
