Ariella and Mae watch as Yvonne hands out invites to all the couples.

ARIELLA

There has to be a way I can get my hands on one of those.

MAE

What are you going to do, make up a fake boyfriend?

ARIELLA

That's perfect!

MAE

It was also a joke. Yet, you're not laughing.

ARIELLA

All I have to do is ask a guy to pretend to be my boyfriend and we're in. Yvonne won't suspect a thing.

Down the hall, Caleb arrives at his locker.

ARIELLA (CONT'D)

And I just found my date.

She approaches Caleb.

ARIELLA (CONT'D)

Caleb, bestie. Looking good. You are rocking that shirt.

CALEB

What do you want?

ARIELLA

Will you go out with me?

Caleb's jaw drops. Ariella lifts it closed.

ARIELLA (CONT'D)

Pump the breaks. Yvonne is throwing a couples only party and I am one boyfriend short of an invite. Will you please do me this one huge favor?

CALEB

If you do something for me.

ARIELLA

Like what?

Catching Ariella off guard, Caleb joyfully poses with her and snaps a selfie. Then he taps away on his phone.

CALEB

How do I change my status? This has never happened to me before.

Slightly annoyed, Ariella takes his phone and obliges.

A few feet away at his locker, Danny sprays himself with cologne. Torin enters and stops by.

TORIN

Smells good. What's it called?

DANNY

Love Potion. (dramatic) "One smell will leave her under your spell."

Torin sniffs him. Shrugs.

TORIN

Romance isn't my thing. Who are you trying to impress, anyway?

DANNY

Someone very important to me. The casting director for the commercial. I have to out-romance one of the most romantic actors in the city. If you thought I was charming, you haven't met...(French accent) Raoul.

TORIN

There's one thing you have that the other guy doesn't. Me.

DANNY

I thought you didn't do romance.

TORIN

That doesn't mean I don't have experience. (re: to self) Look at me. When I get done polishing you up, I guarantee that part is yours.

DANNY

(turning up the charm) Maybe afterward I can take you out to celebrate.

TORIN

Still needs work.

She exits.
