Boasting in your busy fervor
scaling tree and branch
Climbing heights going further
such is the life of ants

Barely moving at all along
A leaf it eats to just stay strong
Caterpillar slow and steady
in day and dark gets ready

Ant mocks at this worm
in his quickly building tune
watching him twist and squirm
just to frame out a tomb

Poor pathetic creature there
Who cannot climb up so high
It doesn't seem right or fair
that you aren't as fast or strong as I

And yet with time an answer waits
wrapped in chrysalis and fate
Over arching wings spread out
and little ant loses his debate
