Ring Ring

Y/n hurriedly placed the man in her arms to the floor muttering 'one second' before answering her phone, "Hello?"

"Where are you?"  an aggravated voice spoke down the phone, the sound of clanging present in the background.

"Well I'm near that shop you like with all the incense, I just had to save this gu-" she was cut off by a growl on the other side of the phone,

"You promised you be here!" her friend sighed on the phone, "Remember? My dinner?" At this Y/n muttered in an inaudible voice a quick 'shit' before taking off down the street.

"Of course I remember, this was uh- just a little detour!" she huffed between running,

"You better not have! Ren is going to be here in 15, so hurry up," Y/n hurriedly placed her key into her apartment lock, stuttering to get it open while her friend continued to nag at her, "oh, and you better not come in your hero suit!"

Y/n looked down at the black bodysuit with gold embellishments on the seams, "Uh- already out of it," she readjusted the phone in her hands before speaking again, "Ayumi, I will be there as fast as I can, but that means I need to get off the phone."

The two friends quickly exchanged goodbyes before ending the phone. She sighed as she ran a hand through her hair before rushing into her room to get dressed and ready to go.

Y/n knocked a few times on the apartment door before waiting for her friend to come, within seconds the door opened to show the short blue haired girl. "Quick, come in! He'll be here soon."

Entering the door Y/n looked at her best friend, "Yumi, stop stressing, it's just dinner." Her friends eyes widened as she began to pace the room,

"Just dinner? Just dinner?! No, it's the first time you're meeting Ren," she turned to look at Y/n, " and sometimes you can be a bit, cranky." The h/c girl scoffed,

"I am not cranky. It's just this is the second time this month I've had to meet your new boyfriend." Y/n and Ayumi had been friends since middle school, in that time Y/n had to meet many of her new boyfriends; she often jumped into relationships, with most only lasting 3-4 weeks maximum.

"Not my fault Dai was an asshole," her friend huffed, her cheeks puffed, "plus, I really think Rens the one; and, I think you'll like him." She just rolled her e/c eyes playfully at her friend before a sharp knock came from the door.

"Shit he's here!"

Y/n stood washing up plates next to her friend as she dried. The dinner had gone smoothly, and as much as she hated to admit it Ayumi was right, Ren seemed alright. While at first the dinner was awkward, as the night continued the three began to loosen and get along. "Soo, what did you think?" Ayumi asked, leaning slightly towards her.

She turned her attention to her friend, wet plate still in hand, "He seems nice. Better than Dai," her short friend just laughed,

"Did Ren tell you that he got us invites to the hero meet up!?" she exclaimed slightly giddy from the drink and the news she was sharing,

"You need to be invited to a hero meet up?" Y/n huffed passing the final plate to her friend, before leaning against the kitchen counter. "Isn't being a hero enough anymore?"

"Well yeah, but a lot of people pretend so they can meet their idols!" she placed the cloth on the side before turning to her h/c friend, "Please say you'll come."

Y/n looked at her friends puppy eyes before sighing again, "Fine, I'll come." Ayumi quickly hugged her friends side, happy she agreed.
