Lexis looked for answered in Fayth's eyes. And instantly he saw much more there. He saw feelings, he read her well and thoroughly.

She's distraught. She's so distraught. Something awakened the worst in her.

"What happened?" Lexis asked, taking an insignificant guess that it was about her parents again.

How the hell could he be so slick? Like I'm going to tell him what happened or something. Might as well rip his intestines out and strangle him with them before that happens.

"Get your face out of my way before I make it my doormat."

She tried to make her way around him before he stopped her again. Fed up, she began taking swings at him, but he blocked them all effortlessly.

I should have taken the pills after I beat the shit out of you.

"Do you honestly..." Lexis began, pulling his manipulative side out. Sneering at Fayth and looking straight into her eyes, he continued. "think I give a damn about why you're mad right now? Just who do you think you are? No one cares about you."

"Shut up." Fear started overtaking her body.

"You once said that your parents loved you, that they're taking you somewhere special this winter break. I don't believe any of it. In fact I think they sent you here because you're taking up too much space. Wasting their time."

"Shut up. Shut up. Shut up!" Fayth unleashed her arm and began hitting him, releasing all the anger she felt on Lexis instead. She wanted to hit him harder, to hear him feel her pain, but he only stood there while tears ran down her cheeks, unbothered by the exhausted hits on his chest.

"Shut up... I hate you..." Tears streamed down her face. "You–you never even came to me. You never came to see me... You never thought about me, even that I'm sure of! Was it because I was the daughter–the daughter of the woman your dad made you marry!? I hate you for making me feel your own pain."

She felt as if the world was closing in on her. She didn't know if the blurry vision was because of the crying or her eyesight going down along with the feeling that was starting to conquer her body. A rush of shallow air went down her chest, but didn't make it all the way. She was starting to fall to her knees. Blackness took over. And she was gone.
