Her next victim...
It was one victim after the other. Anyone that was happy. Anyone that had life in their step. In their smile. In their eyes. She would take that life and disconnect it. If they had passion, any passion, she would drown its flame. Fayth was any good person's worst nightmare.
Seventh grade.
They moved Fayth from the eighth grade class down to seventh. She had missed so many days of school that it was the only option until she tests out of seventh grade classes. No teacher wanted her. So when the English teacher saw her walking into her class, she sighed loudly.
Fayth sat in the only empty seat in the class. She was so well put together you wouldn't think a devil had taken her in as his apprentice. She was articulate in the way she presented herself. A people pleaser in disguise. A looker that can kill with one look.
Joe Cuddington walked up to her, finding the few minutes before class starts an opportunity to talk to the super star before someone else shot their shot.
"Hey."
Fayth looked up at him.
"My name is Joe."
She had eyes like an eagle. Eyes that were hard and can see into your soul.
"If you need help with anything, let me know."
She peered into his eyes, reaching into the darkest part of his thoughts. She looked at him like she could read them. All of them.
"I like you, so..."
Not a single expression crossed her face. She just continued to stare at him.
He began to stumble on his words, starting to feel uncomfortable. "I mean, it'd be nice if we hung out, you know?"
She let go of his eyes.
He felt a little more at ease.
Her eyes slowly traveled down every inch of his body, and for a moment he wondered if he had clothes on. Feeling naked, he shifted his weight from one side to the other.
"Alright well, just wanted to introduce myself. I'mma go back to my seat, but let me know when you want to hang out."
She looked back up, into his eyes.
He avoided her gaze, afraid she'd catch it again.
No one told me she was this intimidating.
"Everyone." The teacher called out as she finished organizing the papers on her desk. "Fayth Armstrong is joining us for now. Let's see..." She looked at the stack of papers in front of her, deciding not to give the bad student any more attention than she deserves. "We talked about the midterm coming up, are we all ready for it? I'm thinking we can do a few examples..."
As the teacher continued talking, Fayth's eyes gazed over everyone in the room. She noticed some of the students participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program that the school offered. Out of the two, one caught her eye.
That smile...
