MOVIE >scene12> - A Dorm. A Delinquent. A Girl.
Rihanna woke up in the morning with an overwhelming feeling of dread. Somehow she knew it was going to be a bad day. Even before she enrolled into the Academy, she knew today specifically was going to be the essence of mad trouble. And whether she liked it or not, she had to face and get through it without losing step.
She stood up and looked around the room, the curtain was closed and there was no sound coming from Jessie's side of the curtain. As she stared at the white fabric, her heart pounded automatically with the idea of who could be behind it. She hated the feeling in her gut, and threw it away as she made her way to the bathroom.
After she was done, she got dressed in her crisp new uniform and pushed the curtain aside. Her heart squeezed in disappointment when she saw Jessie's side of the room empty.
What the hell...
She left out the door and shut it behind her, then stood against it and closed her eyes shut with fear.
You can't. Don't forget. You'll lose yourself. Just be the unknown.
She breathed in and out and opened her eyes, then made her way to the morning assembly.
As she walked down the spiral staircase, she tried to think of all possible ideas to avoid being caught in the center of attention. The fact that she had enrolled much later than everyone else was enough of a spotlight magnet, and it terrified her to guess how many knew of it.
Would Jessie tell anyone?
Suddenly and out of nowhere, a guy hurls her on his shoulder like a sack and jogs the rest of the way down the steps. With quick large strides, he makes his way across the halls and down and up more steps.
Rihanna at first was shocked, so she froze without thought, but as she registered what was happening, she quickly made a point to notify whoever it was that it was definitely not okay to do what he was doing.
"Hey! What the–Where are you taking me? What did I do? Put. Me. Down. I will take this to the headmistress. Do you want to get suspended?"
He entered a full classroom and dropped her on a chair. Her face was surely red from the blood rush that happened with her body upside down, and she felt a bit sick in the stomach. However, all of that was nothing compared to what she stared at in front of her.
If one could put supermodels in a room with equally beautiful girls, right away you could tell the faces of those who've walked on a runway and those who haven't. Because naturally the ones who did will have that arrogant, dominant, leader type of look. A look that said I know that I could have this, all of it.
At that moment, that's who she stared at. Girls with that same exact vibe.
"Hello." Rihanna's voice was weak. "Can I help you?"
A girl, with beauty so remarkable–brown hair, hazel eyes, amazing height and a body that boomed confidence–walked over and stood in front of Rihanna. The rest sat in chairs in front of her, all with legs crossed and arms wrapped, wonder written all over their faces.
So this is the mystery girl.
Summer stared at Rihanna with disgust. "Though I'm tempted to do a makeover on you so you're more bearable to look at, I'm even more tempted to let you humor me with which family you come from."
Rihanna bit her lip. So that's what this is about?
Her brain took immediate action. "What are my options?"
Summer stared at the girl in front her, flustered with her personality that was still unclear. "Start by telling me your name."
"Rihanna. Rihanna Gessner."
"Rihanna. I'm Summer Harrison. I'm sure you've heard about me here and there. We are Dawn's Angels. We rank luxury class as the most richest with the longest bloodline of world renowned leaders. In this Academy, we like to divide everyone in groups, so everyone knows who they belong with, maybe even help them know what to achieve. With all due respect, you're new. We need answers."
Rihanna kept quiet and looked down at her feet.
"As you can see, we're pretty nice, aren't we? We're not monsters."
Be the unknown.
"Then why am I here?" Rihanna didn't dare look up and see Summer's confident piercing gaze again. It was very lethal. The girl could do anything and get away with it, which made Rihanna evidently nervous to the toes.
Summer let out a breath and smiled. Rihanna's personality was slowly coming into view. She would surely be a piece of cake to deal with. At first, when Summer heard that a new arrival had broken the Academy's strict enrollment system, she thought she was up for a challenge as the Academy's Queen Angel, but looking at the underdressed girl in front of her, shivering with fear like a bug, it was nothing like she'd expected.
On the other hand, she did enter the Academy late, that could only mean she was from a prestigious family worth a favor. Either way, Summer decided to play this arrogantly and slice a bit of the girls ego from now.
First, she tested the waters. She slipped one of her rings off and had it drop by Rihanna's feet.
"Opps." She smiled at Rihanna.
Rihanna, with pulled eyebrows, bent over and picked it up for her. It was a nice gesture, at least, that's what she had thought.
Summer smirked. Just what I thought.
She grabbed Rihanna by the hair and pushed her head back so she was looking at her. Rihanna's eyes opened wide and she gasped at the sudden harshness the beautiful girl in front of her used. She was lost between confusion and anger.
And fear. Oh dear how much fear there was enveloping her heart. It was that moment that she realized what it really meant to be enrolled into a prestigious Academy like this. And it definitely slapped the daydream she had right out of her.
"I'm going to make it clear." Summer said, her voice suddenly raspy with hate. "You never ask me a question. If I tell you to do something. You do it. I don't care who the hell is behind you, but I do care about who you are." Summer took out a paper and slammed it on the desk in front of Rihanna.
"In these buildings, there is only one language. You're mouth doesn't move until your bank account balance speaks. Your name? Rihanna Gessner. I want a balance under that name by tomorrow. Today's even better. Only then I'll know where you belong. And if you don't belong." She let out a soft snort. "If you in anyway muddle the name of the school I attend with anything other than image-worthy business, you will regret it."
"I can't." Rihanna quickly muttered, shaking her head and looking everywhere in fear. Summer's request was something she definitely didn't expect. "I mean... It's very hard. Since I don't have a bank account."
Everyone stared at Rihanna with question and biting sarcasm. "What?" Summer asked, even more shocked than the sight of Rihanna's hair and eyes.
"I can't. My parents have me on..." Rihanna cleared her throat, trying to think of a quick plan. "Probation. They grounded me for something and they grounded all of my assets for now too. They said I won't get anything back until I finish high school here."
Summer stared at the girl in front of her. Something about what she said was off. Still, it made enough sense. That could definitely happen. In fact it happened once with Summer herself. Either way, Rihanna did get into the Academy when no one else could. That fact isn't to be dismissed easily.
"Then get me a bank balance from your parent's account." Summer calmly said. Before Rihanna voiced anymore of her opinions, she quickly turned and made her way to the door. "I want it by tomorrow. No excuses."
This is bad.
"I still can't–" Rihanna stood up, but the other girls in the room stood as well and blocked her way to Summer. They left out the door one by one until all of them had disappeared.
"This is bad." Rihanna muttered. She slumped back in her chair. "This is really bad."
She quickly took out her phone and dialed Vincent's number.
"They're asking for my parent's bank account balance. How am I going to manage out of it?" She quickly asked, before greeting him even.
"Oh–Rihanna–Is everything okay? Who's asking for that? The school?"
"No. Its this mighty clique of girls. Vincent they're the scariest thing on earth. I have to do what they want. Otherwise they'll make my life hell here. I know it. I can already feel it."
He sighed. After a long moment of silence, he quickly said. "Actually I know a way."
"What is it?"
"Well, let's just say I know a very skilled guy, and I have a very good plan."
