MOVIE >scene117> - A Dorm. A Delinquent. A Girl.

Fayth slept though she had no idea when, and she wasn't completely thankful for it. Yes, it had made her motionless and unaware of her feelings anymore, and yes, it gave her candy its time to heal her, but when she fell asleep, she had one of the worst nightmares she'd ever experienced.

How vivid, how clear it was. It didn't feel like she was dreaming at all. It felt as if she was living it. It was what made it so terrifying. She jumped up in bed and looked around, out of breath at the fear that took over her whole body. Her legs and arms started to shake violently, and tears escaped her eyes without a sound.

She nudged Jessie, who had taken over Charles' position and was now asleep in the chair next to the bed. He awoke, almost startled, and looked over at Fayth, glanced at her body, and then looked back at her face.

"Rihanna, what's wrong? Are you okay? Why are you shaking like this?"

She shut her eyes as the memories of the nightmare still lingered in her head, and the tears flowed down continuously. "Nightmare." She breathed.

She wanted him to stay awake so she knew what was real and what was not.

He climbed in bed with her, and held her there in his arms. She couldn't say anything. She was too sleepy, too tired to say anything. Regardless of how awake her pain was, she still need more sleep, craved it even.

"What happened?" He asked in a low tone.

"Hmm?"

"Tell me what happened. What made you sick like this Rihanna? What took you under?"

It was a replica of what Lexis had asked her. It was as if he'd requested from Jessie to figure it out.

She told him what happened during the race. Not including any details, just a very general description. She hoped as she explained to him that he'd take the distraught emotions she had experienced as anger towards the boy who pushed her.

When she was done, there was a long silence followed, and her consciousness was being taken away slowly by sleep. Finally, Jessie asked. "What's his name?"

"I dunno." Fayth slurred. "Second? I think he came second."

She could almost feel the back of his hand on her forehead as she drifted back into deep sleep.

She slept peacefully for the rest of the night. When she woke up the next morning, she felt groggy and very thirsty. The fever was completely gone, her body was no longer numbed down by the amount of medication she had taken yesterday, and as she moved her body to sit, a loud shriek of pain escaped her lips.

She laid back down against the pillow as Jessie came out of the bathroom, drying his face with a towel. When he saw her awake, a smile spread across his face and he walked over to her.

"You're awake." His tone showed how happy he was.

She closed her eyes.

"How are you feeling right now?"

Tears fell uncontrollably from her eyes as the merciless pain cruised through her ankle.

"My ankle." She whispered. "It hurts."

Jessie stared at her for a solid five seconds. He walked over to the end of the bed and lifted up the blanket. She watched as his expression completely changed into utter shock.

He tried to mask it. "Come on." He ushered.

He slipped his arms under her and lifted her up, then walked as fast as he could out of the dorm.

"Ow." Pain shot through her leg in agonizing shots from the excessive movement. She, on the other hand, held her tongue from whining anymore. She had to hold it in, and so she tried her best to focus on other things that could take her mind from the awful pain.

She stared at Jessie's face, up close and intimate. She tried to memorize all the things she usually wouldn't see. The birthmark by his ear. The subtle facial hair from not shaving for a few days. The eyelashes that nearly touched his eyebrows. The curves at the edge of his lips that made it seem like he was smiling even when serious.

Why you? Why am I this infatuated with someone, who miraculously, ended up being my dorm mate? Is it fate, or was it a pattern of events that made the situation inevitable.

In the infirmary, Fayth was able to see her ankle for the first time: swollen and blue.

"Oh my goodness." The nurse exclaimed. "Did this happen during the race yesterday?"

"Yes." Jessie answered.

Fayth hoped his answer wouldn't affect their winning.

Most of the F.A.I.T.H. members, including Mandy and Violet, came rushing in. Fear and worry written all over their morning faces.

"Okay, that's gross." Alvin commented, pointing at her ankle.

"Rihanna, are you okay?" Violet exclaimed.

"What happened?" Connor asked.

"Oh my god, your foot! What happened?" Katerina declared, walking in last.

"Did they serve you breakfast yet?" Alvin questioned, looking around the room.

Fayth surveyed the people around her, feeling happy beyond reason, beyond the excruciating pain.

"I'm sorry," the nurse interrupted. "but we're going to have to move you to a nearby hospital. Your ankle appears to be fractured. I'll go and write you a temporary leave.

The nurse left.

Lexis walked into the infirmary. His expression was blank, unreadable, void of any human emotion. "Will everyone give Rihanna and I a minute?"

A moment of confusion followed by everyone existed the room came after. Fayth lay in her bed more fazed than everyone else. What did he want to talk about? What could he possibly want to say after what happened?

When everyone left, he closed the doors behind them, then turned around and made his way toward her slowly, hand in his pants pockets.

He glanced down at her ankle. However, his expression didn't change.

Is he that good at masking his emotions, or is he seriously not that effected by the gruesome sight?

"I've thought about you throughout the night. I presumed things, and I'm not sure what to think anymore. It seems like the more I think of you, the more I'm lost, I'm confused. I come to conclusions about everyone else, and they are usually right. But with you, there are all these doubts. Answers have more questions to them, questions are impossible to even argue for." He paused, staring at her, glancing at her ankle again, then back at her face. "Last night, I've come to a conclusion, but I need to confirm it with you. It's such an absurd assumption that I need you to conclude whether it's true or not."

Fayth stared at her swollen ankle, her eyes unable to move away. Her hands clutched the bedding under the cover. Her heart pounded so hard that she almost didn't doubt him being able to hear it.

"And I'm just about to go insane at the uncanny of it, because it could very well be an answer that would only confuse me more. I've made it clear before that I will not leave you alone until I understand you, because understanding you will be the only solution that'll make me stop thinking about you. Perhaps, if you are more cooperative on that, we can both get what we want a lot sooner than what it may add up to be."

Fayth's fingers gripped the bedding tighter. She was in fact afraid of what he uncovered this time, and hoped it wasn't what she was thinking.

"Since the very first day that you have entered the Academy, the moment you had seen me, reacted the way you did and fainted. The many times that you were absolutely disturbed by my presence...." His voice was deep, low. It spoke with an alluring tone that filled the room. "It couldn't be because of exactly the opposite of what I had presumed all the while, could it?"

Fayth wasn't able to say a word. She felt as if she might choke any second.

"Look up, face me, and tell that it wasn't." Lexis argued, irritated with how much she had avoided him. Even now, with him slowly revealing to her what she didn't want to hear, she still couldn't–wouldn't meet his gaze. "Stop ignoring who I am."

Fayth answered by shutting her eyes.

Her reaction was his answer. The answer he feared.

Her heart beating, his voice, the blood rushing through her veins, all that adrenaline almost covered up for the pain that shot through her ankle.

"Stop ignoring who you are." He insisted.

Fayth's eyes shot wide open, she finally looked up at him, fear enwrapping her at once. He knows.

He knows.

"This entire time," He breathed as she nearly choked. "you weren't scared of me, you were terrified of....you."
