Ezra saw his reflection. He looked up at Kanan.
"You know!" He said in a tired voice.
"That your a ghost?" Kanan asked.
"Actually only half. It's called being a Halfa." Ezra replied. He changed back into his human form. Kanan watched with relief as he saw his eyes turn back to blue and his hair turn it's natural dark color.
"Would you prefer to know what happened or do you just need some space right now?" Kanan asked. He wrapped Ezra in a blanket noticing the boy shiver.
"I think we both have a lot of explaining right now. I don't really feel like talking." Ezra replied.
"I'm not pushing you to tell me about being a halfa. We can talk about that later." Kanan said. "I meant before you went ghost."
"I guess." Ezra said.
"I didn't teach you that if you tap into the force unprepared you are vulnerable to dark side. I'm sorry I failed you." Kanan said. "I asked you to do something you weren't ready to do. You did it, but a little too well. You set a giant fyrnock on
the Inquisitor."
"I was only trying to protect you." Ezra said.
"I know but you're emotions lead you to use the dark side." Kanan replied.
"Kanan?" Ezra asked.
"Yes Ezra?"
"Can we not tell the others about the Halfa thing? I don't want to freak them out." Ezra said.
"Although, I think they should know eventually, I also agree with you. They might not take it too well that Chopper's heat sensors aren't faulty." Kanan says. He got up and went back to the pilot's seat.
"Chopper knows?" Ezra asked.
"He's been saying that the Ghost is haunted for a few months now. He keeps picking up cold spots in different parts of the ship. Hera's been meaning to ask you to repair it since she can't seem to figure out what's wrong with them. You're always missing when it happens though." Kanan explained.
"So I do have to tell Chopper." Ezra said.
"Only if you want to. Faulty heat sensors does make a nice cover." Kanan teased.
Ezra laughed. "You finally figured out where I keep disappearing to."
Kanan docked the Phantom to the Ghost.
"Ezra when you're ready to talk I'll be there." Kanan said.
The two got out of the small ship.
"Ezra?" Sabine said seeing the two Jedi.
"Ezra could use some time to himself." Kanan said stopping the teenage girl and touching Ezra's shoulder.
Hera looked at the boy then at Kanan. Ezra took off down the hall to the nose gun.
"No one bother him." Kanan ordered.
"Something wrong love?" Hera asked.
"We need to talk." Kanan said.
"We do." Hera agreed and gestured for him to follow.
"Looks like it's just the three of us." Zeb said.
"I just wanted to tell Ezra happy birthday and give him his gift." Sabine said.
"I still can't believe he never told us. I wonder what happened." Zeb said.
Chopper beeped.
"Chopper there are no such things as ghost. Even if there was they didn't attack Ezra." Sabine said.
Then the girl walked down the hall.
"Where are you going?" Zeb asked.
"To give Ezra his gift." Sabine answered.
"Kanan said not to disturb the kid." Zeb said.
"Since when do I listen to anyone?" Sabine asked.

"Ok you talk first. What happened that you have Ezra spending some time alone?" Hera said after locking the cockpit door.
"A lot actually. Some I can tell you. Some I think Ezra should tell you when he's ready." Kanan said.
"Then start with the beginning and tell me everything you can." Hera said.
"I can't do that. I did find out about some of Ezra's past. That's not what I want to talk to you about though." Kanan said.
"Well while we're on the topic of Ezra's past. His parents are alive Kanan. Tseebo didn't know where but said they were being held in an imperial prison. Should we tell him?" Hera asked.
"Not right now. He's got enough to deal with right now. Besides we should probably look into it first."
"True after all Sabine said there was records of Ezra dying on their and those are clearly fake."
"Yeah clearly. Ezra and I talked about that." Kanan said thinking about his promises to Ezra.
"So what was it you wanted to talk to me about love?" Hera asked.
Kanan looked at Hera.
"I failed him Hera. He touched the dark side." Kanan said.
Hera gasped then Kanan told her what had happened.
"... and then Ezra passed out. He doesn't remember a thing." Kanan said.
"You left something out." Hera said.
"Ok, yes but Like I said Ezra needs to tell you about that when he's ready. Let's just say I figured out why he keeps disappearing on us." Kanan said.
"Ok I'll let it slip." Hera said.
"Oh, and I'm moving Ezra to my room for a few nights. He's extremely cold right now and i think it might help him to be in a warmer room." Kanan added. It was obviously a lie but like Ezra being a ghost it was half true.
"You want to keep an eye on him after what happened today?" Hera asked catching Kanan in a lie.
"That's one way to put it." Kanan admitted. "I'm going to go check on the kid."
"Jedi!" Hera smiled as she rolled her eyes.
Kanan found Ezra in the nose gun looking at a picture of a small family.
"Where did you get that?" He asked the boy.
"Sabine took it from my parents and cleaned it up while we were gone." Ezra answered. "It's my parents and me."
"I thought I made it clear that they were not to disturb you. Should have figured they wouldn't listen." Kanan mumbled.
"She just wanted to give me my gift. Then she left me alone and kept Chopper and Zeb out." Ezra replied.
"Well if you're ready to talk to me about what happened that night we can head to my room for the night." Kanan said.
"I guess." Ezra replied.
