Chapter One: Ai Hyuga-Uchiha

[I found that picture on my laptop, and I was brought to tears when I saw Naruto as Jiraiya. Jiraiya is legit, my secret crush.]

I smiled and held the baby, in my arms. "(Y/N), she's beautiful." Sakura said as she prepared the birth certificate. "Yes, she is," I said, as I hoped that I could see Ai's eyes. She was sleeping.

Sakura walked over, "Have you decided on a name?" She asked.

"Yes." I smiled at Sakura, "Her name will be Ai." Sakura smiled and nodded.

"Here you go." She passed over the birth certificate and pen. I balanced Ai,  in one hand and I started to write in the birth certificate. I filled out everything, except father.

Sakura glanced at the certificate, "Who's the father?" She asked as she read over.

"Ai Hyuga- Uchiha..." She mumbled the last bit. I sighed.

"Eh, I fill the la--"

I was interrupted by a knock at the door. "Come in," I said.

The door open, and I saw Naruto, Kakashi-sensei, and Hinata. I smiled, "Hi." I greeted the trio.

Naruto ran up excitedly, "Is that your baby?" He asked. "Yes, this is Ai," I said. "Aw she's cute, Hinata is going to be expecting soon, so this is very exciting!" Naruto said, getting over excited and becoming loud.

"Hinata, get your husband, Ai is sleeping," I said quietly.

"Oh! I'm sorry!!!" He said, still being very loud.

We all shushed him, but in response to that, I heard little cute whimpers.

I looked at Ai, she was about to cry. I rocked her slowly. "Ssh." Her eyes were still closed. "It's okay..." I mumbled quietly. Her eyelids fluttered, I held my breath. Ai's eyes opened, we all looked. She had one Byakugan and one black eye.

"One Byakugan?..." Hinata mumbled. I glanced at Kakashi, all sorts of things going through his head. I smiled, "She's beautiful and unique." I said they all nodded agreeing.

Ai Hyuga-Uchiha

I smiled, as Ai ran around with Boruto, and Himawari sat on the ground playing with a small batch of flowers. "(Y/N)." I turned my head and saw my cousin, Hinata Hyuga.

"Hinata, hi." I greeted her, she smiled and sat down next to me on the bench. "Ai and Boruto get along so well, but that's what you get for kids. They start out liking each other or hating each other." She said. I laughed, quietly and nodded understanding what she meant. "That's true." I agreed. She nodded and watched the kids play. Himawari walked over to the older children, well it was more like a stumble. Hiwamari held out a small bouquet of flowers out to the pair. I smiled, as the two five-year-olds looked at the nicely arranged flowers. Himawari was three, and she looked up to the two.

Ai, she took some of the flowers and then sent sweet little Himawari a smile and I heard her mumble a thank you. Himawari grinned, and then the two looked at Boruto, who was probably contemplating if to take the flowers or no. He gave out a small sigh and took the rest of the flowers and muttered another smile. Himawari's smile got wider, and she then wrapped her small arms around the two, hugging them. I smiled at how cute the cousins were.

Neji, you should see your niece and her cousin's, it's cute...

I then stood up and stretched, Hinata glanced at me. "Are you already leaving, (Y/N)?" Hinata asked. I shook my head, "No, I have to check on the food." I said she nodded as I walked inside. I shut the door behind me, and I headed into the kitchen. I passed by a few pictures on the wall, it was pictures of me and Neji then others were new, pictures of me and Ai.

I sighed and walked into the kitchen. I was fixing lunch, pasta, and cake. I had to check if the cake, has cooled down, so I can put the icing on it. I hummed and took the two-layered cake out of the refrigerator. I smiled, happily as the cake was cool enough for the icing.

I left the kitchen and headed outside with Hinata, Boruto, Himawari, and Ai. I smiled. "Hey kids, the cake is done. What colors of icing should I use?" I asked.

"Pink!"

"Blue."

"Green."

I nodded, at each color, the children called out. "Alright, I'll come back when I finish with the icing," I said and turned to walk back inside.

"Wait, mommy!" I turned my head and saw Ai get up and run over to me. I smiled at the five-year-old. "Can I help?" She asked. I nodded, "Of course." I said and ruffled her hair, and grabbed her small hand. We walked inside and walked to the kitchen. I sat Ai, on an unoccupied counter, while I got the icing. I grabbed the colors that the three called out, pink, blue, and green.

I placed the icing down by Ai, and I grabbed the bake and placed it on the counter next to her. "Which color do you want to do?" I asked, she looked at all the colors and then smiled. "Green." She said and picked up the icing. I nodded, "Be careful with the icing and just to let you know, it's okay to mess up." I instructed her, she nodded and we both started to ice the cake.

We added little designs, doodles, and covered the sides.

Once we finished, Ai smiled proudly and confidently and I grinned at how cute the cake looked. "Aw~, you did so well! Maybe, you'll be a better baker than your mother." I praised, she giggled. "No no, mommy is always the best."

I smiled, and kissed her forehead, gently. "Go get your aunt Hinata and your cousins," I said, and picked her up and placed her on the floor. She nodded determined and ran off. I sighed, happily and smiled.

I then looked up at the pictures on the wall. There was one with my team when I was younger, the original Team 7, the second Team 7, and me and my brother Neji. I smiled and looked at the first picture. We all looked so happy, except for Naruto and Sasuke.

Sasuke...

Then the second Team 7, Naruto and Sai didn't get along at first, but it was good they became buddies. I wonder what's Sai doing now anyway? I haven't seen him in forever.

I sighed softly and looked at the picture of me and my twin, Neji. We were fraternal twins, still twins, but looked completely different and different personalities also. God, I miss him.

I smiled as I heard the children run in following behind them, Hinata. I grabbed plates, and the kids sat at the table. "(Y/N), would you like help?" She asked. I would decline, but she looks so cute. "Sure," I said and handed her the plates as I grabbed the food. She set the plates down in each spot after she did that I put the food on their plates and she placed down the silverware.

"I'll bring out the cake as soon as everyone is done," I said and sat down. The kids and Hinata said their thank yous, and we all started to eat.

Soon after we finished, I brought out the cake and gave each kid a slice, excited Hinata wanted Himawari to have a smaller piece than the other kids, so she got one.

I smiled as it was time for the kids to go. "Bye Boruto, bye Himawari, and bye Hinata."

The toddlers waved goodbye, and Ai waved at them, as I closed the door.

"Mommy. Do I help with dishes again?" Ai asked and looked up at me. I leaned down and picked her up. "No,  Ai. Remember you have academy tomorrow?" I smiled and kissed her cheek.

She nodded as I put her down. "Will you be able to prepare your own bath today?" I asked.

She smiled brightly and nodded. "I got it! Like how you taught me!"

I smiled and ruffled her hair playfully. "Alright. Don't overload the bathtub." I said, she nodded and smiled before running off to the bathroom to prepare the tub.

I walked over to the table, and gathered all dirty dishes. I went to the kitchen and put the dishes in the sink and washed all the plates.

It's really nice having the Uzumaki's over. Ai has a lot of fun with them, and she always can't wait to attend the academy with her cousin.

After finishing cleaning the dishes, I put the dishes out to dry and I left the kitchen and to the bathroom, I poked my head in and saw Ai, slowly struggling to put her clothes on the counter. I smiled and went over to her and lifted her up slightly.

She smiled, "Thank you mommy." She said, as I put her down. "You're welcome, Ai."

"Now, don't forget when you're done, drain the tub, and no you don't have to stick your head into the water to do it. And, if you want I can wash your hair. Okay?"

She nodded. "Alright. Not today, no hair washing." She said.

I smiled. "Alright." I kissed her forehead. "Call me when you're in bed and I will tell you a quick story." I told her.

She smiled, and playfully pushed me lightly. "Go mommy go!" She giggled.

I chuckled and went to the door. "Alright. Bye~." I cooed and walked out of the door and cracked it just a bit and then I went to my room, and sat down on my bed.

I laid down and looked at the ceiling. What if he was here? It'd be different
Ai would be different. She would be surrounded by darkness. The darkness he carried.

"I won't give you the benefit of just using my childas the next Uchiha and all the darkness and hatred they carried!"

"They will not be a Hyuga, they WILL be an Uchiha."

"No."

"I hate you, Sasuke!"

"I don't want to see you again, Sasuke. Don't come near me or my child!"

I sighed and turned my head and looked at the picture of the original Team 7 as kids.

"Mommy!"

"Coming Ai!" I got up and went to Ai's bedroom.

Her room was large, and filled with toys that Ino, Sakura, Naruto, Hinata, Kakashi, Choji, Shikamaru, Sai, Lee, Tenten, Kiba, and well all of Team 7's mutual friends bought. The room was painted a mint green color, with help from Lee. Gah, I should go see Lee tomorrow.

I looked at Ai, she was comfortably under her covers and she looked up at me, happily ready for a made up story or some interesting stuff.

I smiled and sat down on her bed, and kissed her forehead. "Ready?" I asked.

She nodded happily.

"Okay well. There are things called, Dōjutsu, they are rather powerful eyes with unique abilities different than any other kekkei genkai. There are only two in the whole world. The Hyuga's Byakugan..." I said and pointed at my eyes and her one Byakugan. "And, the Sharingan, " I pointed to her other eye, despite the fact she hasn't unlocked her Sharingan yet.

"They are passed down from parent to kid, and then that kids parents." I said.

"Wait. Mommy, why doesn't Boruto have the Byakugan then?" She asked.

"Well. I don't really know, I haven't heard of anything like that before." I answered and stroked her hair.

"But, even if he doesn't have it. He's still unique." I smiled. "But, you know who's special also?" I asked.

She looked at me with curious eyes.

"You are." I told her. "You are the first kid, I've ever heard will be able to possess both. Sharingan and Byakugan. But, to get your Sharingan you have to unlock it. The Sharingan is called the, 'eye that reflects the heart'. Because, people who unlock it experience very powerful emotions from someone very precious to them. Well, most Uchiha's gain their Sharingan from rather, traumatic events." I explained, mumbling the last part.

She yawned softly and smiled, tiredly. "Really?... Do I have to experience those emotions to get my Sharingan?..." She asked.

I sighed. "I hope not." I said and kissed her forehead, as she closed her eyes, dozing off rather quickly. "Good night Ai." She started to softly snore.

I smiled and got up and went to my room. I laid down on my bed.

"Do I have to experience those emotions to get my Sharingan?..."

Your uncle went through it and your father did.

Me and his eyes were always different. I'm born with it and it's forever there. He's born with it, but he went through something traumatic...

It's all about the eyes.
