*Well Dan...this is it. Tonight's the night to prove why you and Tatum belong here in NXT* Dan thinks to himself as he gets in the right mindset before he and Tatum's match against Xander and Roxanne in the finals of the Mixed Match Challenge. 

*Dan takes a deep breath* "Where is Natalie anyways?"

"Hi Danny!" *Tatum says popping up behind him*

"JESUS CHRIST. Tatum don't do that! You scared the shit out of me!"

*Tatum just giggles and hugs Daniel* "You ready?"

*Dan nods* "As I'll ever be. We've got this. I know it."

*Cut to ringside* "Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the finals of the NXT Mixed Match Challenge! The winners of this match will get a NXT Championship match at a time of their choosing."

"Introducing first, From Houston Texas, weighing 227 pounds, Daniel BRIGGS!"

"And Booker, Dan has been through a lot in the tournament, but he has survived and now he's in the finals of the Mixed Match Challenge. But he didn't do it alone."

"And his partner, Tatum PAXLEY!"

"Of course Dan has been...accompanied of sorts by his partner in this tournament, Tatum Paxley, and Booker, they've made a pretty good team!"

"I'd have to agree Vic, but the prevailing question is:Can they go all the way?"

"They've made it to the finals haven't they?"

"And their opponents, first, Roxanne Perez!"

"And Booker here's your favorite!" 

"Here's my pick to win the whole thing Vic! She's the prodigy, already at 21 years old a NXT women's tag team champion."

"By herself Vic?"

"And her partner, Xander Levine!"

*Rox and Xander look at each other, share a smile and get into the ring as Daniel stretches and Tatum...well just see for yourself 

*The bell rings and the Finals are UNDERWAY!*

*Match Highlights:

*Dan and Xander share a friendly handshake:

*Xander getting the best of Daniel with a headlock takeover and a roll-up:

*Dan tags out and Paxley goes on the offensive immediately 

*to which Roxanne Dodges and tries for Pop Rox immediately but Paxley wisely avoids*

"And Booker, these two teams are dead even in the opening stages of this matchup."

*Later on in the match, Rox tries again for Pop Rox, but Tatum powers out and takes a page out of Daniel's book with a last ride!*

"Paxley with a last ride and both women are down! Can they make the tag?!"

*Yes Vic. Yes they can*

*Both tag out and the men are legal as we enter the closing phase of this match!*

*Daniel rushes and tries a big boot but Xander dodges and goes haywire on Daniel trying to soften him up for his modified Crossface*

*Daniel pushes him away but Xander rebounds and hits:

Daniel rolls to the apron as Xander goes to grab him and hit the draping DDT but Daniel counters and hits:

*Daniel motions to finish the match with the Last Ride. He gets Xander up but Xander wriggles free and hits a Superkick 

To which Daniel counters with a lariat and FINALLY gets the Last Ride:

*Daniel covers:1-2-NO!*

*Daniel is in DISBELIEF as he picks up Xander but he counters and locks in the Crossface!*

*Daniel is fading FAST but thankful Tatum breaks it up much to Roxanne's chagrin who grabs Tatum and chucks her to the outside and hits a Tope suicida knocking them BOTH out of the equation!*

*Daniel gets to his feet as does Xander as they slug it out until Xander hits a Superkick to the knee, Superkick to the head and sinches in ANOTHER Crossface*

*Daniel fights and fights and fights until he can't anymore and he passes out*

"He's out that's it!" "Here are your winners of the NXT Mixed Match Challenge, Xander Levine, and Roxanne Perez!" *Rox engulfs Xander in a hug as Tatum checks on Daniel who's slowly coming to*

*Xander and Perez walk over to Tatum and Daniel with extended hands, Pax and Dan accept them and they shake hands and a hug* 

*Daniel to Xander:"Tonight wasn't our night. You guys deserve this. Go kick ass."

*Backstage, Dan sits on a chair as he waits for Tatum and thinks on how far he's come.* "You've come so far Daniel. Don't stop now. Natalie believes in you, Mark believes in you, The NXT Universe believes in you. Don't let them down." *Tatum comes out of the locker room in *checks notes* shorts and a Slayer Shirt* 

"Tatum it's pouring buckets outside and your wearing short sleeves?"

"Yeah, what's wrong with that?"

*Daniel sighs and kisses her on the forehead* "Let's get home shall we?"

*They head out*
