Quick A/n before we start:
So I know I said I wasn't gonna do a Valentine's one-shot, but I can't help myself. Hope you enjoy it! Especially you, Second-breakfast who suggested it in the first place.

You were sitting with Luz, Gus, Willow, Amity, Emira and Edric. Luz and Amity were acting all lovey-dovey, as usual. Maybe a little more than usual, since Valentine's day was coming up. Everything else seemed pretty much normal, apart from the heart decor that lined Hexsides walls.

You looked quite dull, seeing as how Valentine's day always made you miserable. Admiring all those couples made things worse, usually it wouldn't be this bad but all the lovey-dovey stuff ramped up this time of year. No one had seemed to notice your slight melancholy and continued on as if everything was fine.

Luckily the bell rang, er.. screamed? Hexside was quite strange to you since you had come to the boiling isles just last week, Luz brought you along to "meet new friends". Anyway, everyone started to disperse to their next class. You were happy you didn't have to see any more lovey-dovey couples.

{Time Skip}

School had ended, you were once again walking with everyone from earlier. Luz and Amity were up ahead, while you were more to the back of the group with Edric and Emira.

"Sooo.. Y/n, got a valentine?" Emira sparked conversation.

"Nope, do you?" You replied, trying to keep the conversation going. Maybe it would distract you.

"Not sure, I was thinking of asking Viney," Emira answered. Edric seemed to perk up at the mention of Viney.

"You mean your girlfriend?~" He teased. Emira rolled her eyes.

"Like you have a potential valentine," Emira shot back. Edric quickly glanced over at you, although you were none the wiser.

"Sure I do," Edric responded.

"Who?~" Emira teased this time.

"Well I saw them in school today." Edric answered, giving the least amount of information possible. Edric subtly gets closer to you. 

"Hey Em, can I ask you something?" Amity called.

"Sure," Emira left you at the back of the group with Edric.

"So who's your secret potential valentine?" You tried to start a conversation with him.

He hesitated for a moment, you wondered why. "Uh.. the thing is, she's right next to me." He muttered.

"Me?" You looked over at him.

"Would you be okay with that?" Edric asked, turning towards you.

"I don't see why not, no ones ever asked me before," You answered. Edric smiled and offered you his hand, which you took. He started swinging your hands as you walked. (As to not confuse anyone, you're holding hands and he's swinging both of your hands together)

"Oh what's this now? Did my brother get a valentine?" Emira called.

"Yea, looks like I beat you to it." He smirked. You laughed and Emira grunted. Your laughter must've caught the attention of Luz because before you knew it she let out a big "awwwww". Amity looked over at her brother, giving him a look that could only say "smooth". All that melancholy from earlier went away soon after, and you hadn't even noticed. Valentine's day was no longer such a sorrowful day, you had someone to spend it with.
