~Repossess~
I heard a weird, high pitched noise coming from the other side of Dragon. What the heck is that? I tried to squirm away, but there wasn't anywhere to go. Maybe that sound was Death coming to pick us up. Suddenly, light flooded in from the other side of Dragon.
"This one looks dead to me."
In response, Dragon snorted. I nudged him, and he lifted his head.
"No, he's just unconscious. Oh! look at his leg! definitely broken."
"How about the other one?" I heard a familiar voice ask. John. He was here!
"Don't know, can't see him. let's get this guy out first. Who is this, by the way?"
"That is Dragon Sickness."
A while later, they had gotten Dragon out, and were staring down at me. I stared back. Three could play that game.
"This one's alive and awake, and staring at me," the one man said.
"RE-PO!" I heard the yell and sprang to me feet, now standing on what had once been the side of the trailer, and looked around wildly. Where was Ryan?
"It's ok boy, it's ok Repossess. You're gonna be ok." The man attached a lead to my halter. I snorted and whinnied for Dragon, wishing him luck wherever they were taking him, for I saw him being loaded into a van.
"Do you want to put Dragon Sickness down? He has a low chance of survival" a doctor-like guy said, coming over to us.
"No, we're gonna give him every chance we can. He's one of the family. These are the only two horses we own," John answered quietly.
"Alright, well, given the nature of their injuries, were shipping them down to the New Bolton Center near Philadelphia. I know it's a long drive, but they will get better treatment there than anywhere here."
"Wait, what are Repossess' injuries? He looks fine to me."
"We'll, probably some sort of shock. He's definitely got a few bruises, and I'm sure he could resume training eventually. I don't think he'll ever want to race again, or even go near a van, though. To tell the truth, I'm surprised he wasn't more hurt. Most horses will trash around when something like this happens, especially when they're the one pinned. You've got a good pleasure horse here." He patted my neck. "As for the other one, it would be best for him to be retired if he survives. He's got some internal injuries, along with the broken leg. He will never be able to race again."
