Books I Own
Hey! Paintfairy So I'm actually doing this . . . *Shakes head*
So . . . These are all the books I own, it's not much because I was only allowed to buy books since last year. I organise all my books in sets, if they're single books then I keep them with more books from the same Author. Here we go!
Starting from the topmost shelf. Obviously first and foremost- the Harry Potter Series, these were the first series I ever read so they're always gonna have a very very special place in my heart!!! I reread them from time to time (even when I have books I haven't read sitting in my bookshelf. *Books glare at me* *hides in the corner*), oops—
Next is the Divergent Series I LOOVEED the first book. The second book was okay. I have mixed reviews on the last one considering the ending . . . I seriously did not expect that . . . Ahhh. But I love the whole concept behind the book. I haven't read Four yet . . . But one day . . .
And the Twilight Series *face palms*. Look, I did like the book when I first read it. It was the first vampire themed books I ever read so eh. Not interested in sparkling vampires anymore . . . But it's still sits in my shelf.
Me Before You and After You by JoJo Moyes. I did love those books. Me Before You made me weep like an ugly snotty baby. Internally. Coming back to the point . . . I'm alwaaayyss gonna love these books. Emilia Clarke did the perfect job in the movie and I so don't regret them. After you takes a bit of . . . Pushing. You've got to tell yourself to read it sometimes, but it's good and I don't regret reading it.
Maze Runner Series are obviously *bangs table*. I've just read the first book and only just finished it a couple days ago. Can't wait to get my hands on the next one!!!!! DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. God knows how many table flip and face palm movements I've had while reading just the first book.
The Mortal Instruments Series and The Bane Chronicles. Goddam. I love Magnus, obviously, like who doesn't. I read the first two books when I didn't own the entire set, so after those books I had to wait to buy the rest of the set. And now when I finally have it, I have to reread the first books to refresh everything . . . And I'm impatient so rereading is a bit hard for me. Eh. But I'M GETTING TO IT.
The Infernal Devices are a trilogy set in the same world as The Mortal Instruments Series but believe in an age before it? Idk I have to read TMI first and then get to it. Btw did I forget to mention . . . I LOVE THE COVERS. Okay I have this weird 'my books should look perfect obsession' I'm very particular about it. And trust me when I say, I've done some serious damage to people who've done damage to my books. If there's one thing I loose my sense at, it's protecting and babying my books. Cassandra Clare has done a magnificent job in picking the covers. I love these. Sometimes I just pull them out to just stare at them. I'm still waiting to collect the Dark Artifices Series . . . *Points to the empty space in her bookshelf* "ONE DAY!"
Percy Jackson Series are . . . DO I EVEN NEED TO SAY IT??!!! I LOVE PERCY. This series are probably one of the best things I've ever read. Everytime I think of Percy all I can think is . . . You sarcastic little shit. And the best thing is, the sarcasticness (is that even a word?) and the witty remarks do nothing to dampen the seriousness of the book. I love them honestly. They are the reason why I got so interested in Greek Mythology, enough to look up and randomly read articles on Wikipedia. (Greeks are the most interesting mythology I've ever read honestly. Nothing beats them.)
The Heroes of Olympus is next inline to the Percy Jackson Series. I was in the middle of the first book sometime ago when a book I had been waiting for since ages dropped in . . . So I broke my own very important rule to never stop in the middle of a book. The thing is that I read Percy Jackson Series straight in line one after the other all day and night long. I guess I just needed a breather to switch to something lighter? But I'm definitely getting to the end of these. There are so many more books in the PJO universe that I don't own yet. *Points at the empty space in the bookshelf again* "I'LL GET YOU ALL ONE DAY!"
Backlash is the second book I ever since I started reading. I got it from scholastic in a school book fair. It's about cyber bullying. It's good, it's been a long time since I read it. But it was good, I did like it. I haven't read Before I Fall yet, I just bought it with two or three other books and then when I was done by those and got to this, I got another set of books that put me off track.
Vendetta and Inferno are the first two books in the blood for blood trilogy by Catherine Doyle. Hugely underappreciated and unrecognised. Atleast that's what I feel. I love these books, and I honestly reread them so much all the time. I did use to own the third mood Mafiosa too but . . . I don't want to go into the memory . . . A very unfortunate event for me, it still hurts, all I can say is there was a lot of crying and tearing involved.
The Hunger Games Series are obviously EPIC. Suzanne is a genius honestly. Love the concept. Brilliant bookset. The movies were not fair to the books (or so I feel).
The Vampire Diaries are actually so much fkn better than twilight. Yes it too has a tiny bit cringy love triangle but they're a good read I swear. I don't have the whole set, just the first four books or so. It's because I still wasn't buying so many books when I got into the series so I've put them on hold for now. And for all the Vampire Diaries show fanatics out there- THE BOOKS ARE NOTHING LIKE THE SERIES. I just . . . At least I think so according to as far as I've read. Seriously they're good anyway.
The Great Gatsby . . . Ehhhh I sti haven't read it. The first time I tried my exams dropped on me and the next time I got distracted by another book. ONE DAY!!! But I live the movie honestly. I do from all my heart. I'm definitely reading the book. (Btw is it only me or does anyone else think that Jay was gay for Gatsby according to the movie because I haven't really read the book. No? Yes?)
The Year I Met You. Ahhh I think this is the third book I ever bought. And . . . I still haven't read it. *Sighs disappointedly at herself* But ONE DAY! I live Cecilia honestly, I swear I will.
Dork Diaries Puppy Love *laughs hilariously*. That's the only version of Dork Diaries I have. Not gonna lie, it was cute when I read it.
11 Birthdays is just another one of those same day set on repeat books. It's not totally bore but it's not exceptionally interesting it either. Been a long time. *shrugs*
Ink Death . . . This one! Is a funny story. I bought this in a book fair. And then later I realised that it's the second or third book to a series. But on a positive note, they give a small recap of the previous books in the start so I wasn't totally clueless. It's actually pretty gooooood. I really liked it. Someday I'll complete the set. *Winks at it*
Fallen is a beautiful book . . . As far as I've read it. *Glares at distractions. Glares at examinations* But seriously, I'm definitely completing the whole set. I really liked them, I saw the movie too but I don't think it was that good. I love the book though.
13 Reasons Why. Obviously that book was a pretty good read. I know people have mixed views on that book, but personally I liked it. Small things do add up to make a bigger pool and people need to realise that.
The John Green collection, i.e., The Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines, Turtles All the Way Down. I know I'm missing a few books- Will Grayson, Will Grayson and Let It Snow (if I'm right), but I've read them, I just don't own them . . . Yet.
The Fault in Our Stars was the first book I ever read and can have all the honours of pulling me into this magnificent world of books. Seriously, I used to cringe at books so bad . . . I had nothing to do with books. Now look at me, I practically breathe books (sometimes I actually do, I love the scent some books have, don't judge me). TFIOS is the book no book is ever going to compete with for the very reason that it was my first. Now matter how good that book might be.
Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, Abundance of Katherines, Turtles All the Way Down are all a work of brilliance. John Green is actually my idol, I hope someday maybe, I'll be able to be at least some point percentage of what he his. His books hit hard and they touch your very soul. He's such a gifted writer, my respect and admiration for him has no bounds.
Call Me By Your Name is . . . *cries pathetically* It's what I'm currently reading, I'm half done. This book . . . 4 pages into it . . . No 4 lines into it and I knew this book was going to hit hard. I am so so so so in love. I seriously cannot believe how some people haven't heard of this one. Because honey, Call Me By Your Name is like . . . If TFIOS is my favourite straight book, CMBYN is my favourite gay book. It touches every single fucking inch of your soul. Just . . . just read it!!!! *Flips table, bangs her head on the fall, cries pathetically and hugs the book like a baby*
Love Simon is loved by me for so many reasons. It's so . . . Right in everything. For every LGBT+ kid out there, oh hell even every straight kid out there, just goddamit read it. It's a must. And some of the things that have been said in the book need to be heard all over the world.
Love Rosie is book that has been written in a very creative style. It's written in form of little notes and stuff, it makes you laugh, cry, smile with pathetic hopelessness and teaches you so many things about life. Again, a must read. I loved the book.
The Lord of the Rings Series. Haven't read yet, just bought it as Christmas gift. I have watched the movies and I love the plotline and the world and everything. I just can't honestly wait to read, it's just . . . It needs more of my attention which I couldn't seem to provide when I started it (again, right before my exams). But obviously I'll read it and eh . . . THE COVERS ARE SO PERFECT!!!
═───────◇───────═
Again, those are all the books I own, one is missing because I've given it to my best friend to read, and my wishlist is so full honestly . . . Ah. It's not much but it is what it is. It's a standing reminder of how my world has completely changed because books have dragged me out of a very low phase in my life. I couldn't ever be thankful enough.
Excuse all my spelling mistakes or grammatical errors if any, I didn't go back and recheck for them.
I'm crazy enough about books, that I was once asked that if the world was ending, what would I panic most about. My answer? "I haven't read enough books." Yep. That's me.
One day, this shelf is going to multiply into so many more shelf's and I'll sit in the middle, drowning in the pool of books. That's what I desire (Lucifer anyone?)
I had fun writing this, hope you had fun reading it, Toodles!!❤️💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️
