Once again, Wu sat in the middle of his meditation room. His thoughts trailing back to his brother's pupil. She had gotten the sword of flames, which didn't surprise him. It led him to punish the ninja, to which they had the entire Monastery cleaned spotless.
Letting out a sigh, he stood, rummaging through scrolls to find anything about the girl. His brother wouldn't just have anyone be his pupil, he knew him. Garmadon would have someone with a stronger power than the four guardians of the green ninja.
None of the other elements were powerful enough against his four ninja. Sorcery wasn't even strong against elemental masters, so he ruled that out.
She was able to shapeshift, which made him believe she was the master of form only for Kai to have told him how she formed a sword from thin air, which then led him to believe she was the master of metal. But that contradicted her changing appearance.
With each scroll he looked at, he found some attributes she possessed, but she couldn't be pinpointed to just one element. The most probable candidate was the master of ember, but he's seen the previous master of ember, and she looked nothing like her.
Wu dropped the scroll he was looking through when he heard his students yelling. He sighed, putting up his scrolls before making his way to the gaming room.
Opening the doors, he was pleasantly surprised to see his students training. Each one of his students working on their skills. That was before Zane threw everyone off their feet.
"Ugh! The roof isn't big enough for all of us." Kai complained. "Correction, this roof isn't big enough for Zane."
While Zane continued to train, the Sensei walked over to the ninja. "Sensei, Zane is weird." "What is weird? Someone who is different or someone who is different from you?" "No, he's just weird weird." The ninja all recalled times when their teammate acted strangely.
"Zane is a brother, brothers are often strange, I would know." Wu sighed.
There was a knock on the Monastery doors, the ninja excitedly run towards it. "Mail!"
Kai had gotten a fan letter, immediately opening it to read. Cole got a letter from his father and a package for his dragon, he shoved the letter in his gi and ran to his dragon. And Jay got a letter from his parents.
The lightning elemental noticed Zane not having received anything. "Hey Zane, how come you don't get anything from your parents?" He asked, waving his letter in front of him. "I don't know my parents, I've been an orphan for as long as I can remember." Jay paused, awkwardly hiding the mail he got.
"We are your family now." Wu gave a small pat on the back of the white ninja. Zane only sighed, walking back to the Monastery. He wasn't ungrateful, he appreciated everything his Sensei has done, but he did want the knowledge.
Who were his parents? Why did they leave him? Who even was he supposed to be? He only wanted to know of his origins.
___
(Y/n) leaned against a tree, watching over the construction in front of her. It was unstable. On the verge of breaking, this would either help or ruin her plan.
"(Y/n)!" She turned around to see the child running up to her, jumping to attack. She caught him in her arms, the boy giving a small pout. "I was trying to scare you."
(Y/n) tilted her head, putting down the child. "Well, firstly, you should have kept silent, your yell gave you away, you should also learn how to step quietly."
He huffed before grinning widely. "What do you think about my treehouse?" She looked at the structure, then back at the boy. "If you were to build any higher, it would collapse, maybe have them build smaller house trees." She advised. "Treehouses. But yeah, that's a cool idea!"
He extended his hand out towards the structure, imagining what it could look like. "It could work, I'll go tell the General your idea, wait for me here." Running off to find the serpent, (Y/n) stood still.
"What a joke, the child can't even make a ssssimple command without you." Skales mocked, (Y/n) turning his way. "How pathetic it musssst be for the father to have raised such a poor leader." The girl scoffed, glaring at the second in command. "You are so critical, yet, here you are following the orders from that same child you mock, with a leader under his control." She hissed.
Skales glared at her, his tail rattling. "He won't be leader for much longer, unlessss you go back on your word, after all, you humans tend to break what you promisse."
(Y/n) sighed, waving a hand. "Speaking of, do you still have the earth ninja under your control?" She questioned, Skales response with a short nod before leaving.
"(Y/N)!" The girl flinched, turning to see the boy with the Sword of Flames. "I went to tell the General about your idea and saw the Serpentine playing with my sword!" He complained with a frown.
She stepped slightly back, not wanting to get hit by the sword. "Oh, just keep it on you for the time being, if they take it from you, let me know."
The child's eyes glowed with excitement. "Could you teach me how to use it." (Y/n) pressed her lips together, trying to think of a way out of this. "Please! You said you were here to serve me, doesn't that mean you're supposed to listen to me?"
She let out a sigh, her hand glowing to form a wooden stick. "Alright, but you should start with a fake weapon."
___
The group were all seated around the table, waiting for Zane to arrive with the food. "I love it when it's Zane's turn to cook!" Jay exclaims. "Well, I didn't hear any complaints with my food." Cole proudly said. "That's because it glued our mouths shut, you think Jay would have been quiet for even a second?" Kai asked, getting a glare from the blue ninja.
Zane walked out wearing a flowery pink apron. "Dinner is served." Zane happily set down the plates of food. His smile slowly faltered as they all burst out laughing. He became confused, not understanding. "What is so funny?"
"Zane, you're wearing a– Even I wouldn't wear that." Nya laughed, holding onto her stomach. The white ninja thought about it for a bit, trying to understand. "You laugh at the measures I take to be clean?" "We laugh because you came out wearing that ridiculous outfit." Kai chuckled. "We have different senses in humor."
"Alright, how about this." Cole picked up a plate of shrimp, smashing them into Jay's face. Jay glared for a bit before bursting out laughing again. "See, it's funny– AHG!" Cole stood up, feeling the mashed potatoes fall down his back. "Now it's funny." Wu said, sitting back down.
A war of food started, leaving Zane in a more confused state. After they finished their fight, Zane had to throw away a large portion of food. "He looked so cute in it." He heard.
The white ninja paused before throwing away his apron with the spoiled food. It was an upsetting sight to see how much was thrown away.
Zane flinched, looking up immediately. He saw a black bird resting itself on the branch of the tree. The ninja tilted his head, the bird doing the same thing. It interested him how he felt at peace with this bird near him. He began flapping his arms, the bird, in turn, flapping their wings.
The bird jumped off the tree, flying away. The white ninja took off with it, feeling like he needed to follow. His instincts were right, as it led him to a gathering of Serpentine. He stood there, trying to figure out their plans.
"If I see any girl around here I'm gonna go ballistic!" Lloyd yelled, a serpent slithering up to him. "But there isss a girl here?" He questioned, tilting his head. "Sh-She doesn't count, she's my partner in crime more than a girl, a-and she's an adult." Lloyd said, completely flustered.
The son of Garmadon took out the sword of flames, and as tempted as Zane was to right his wrong, he would have to retreat for backup. And so, he left.
The girl in the black cloak smirked, turning to the second in command. "Did you see that, Skales?" She asked, pointing up towards the long trees. "It looks like the ninja are going to be on their way." She said. "Make sure everything is prepared for tomorrow." "I don't need a human girl telling me what to do." He hissed, the girl sighing in annoyance.
"We both need this plan to succeed, quit being difficult, and just prepare." She hissed, glaring at the serpent. Skales glared back before ultimately following her order.
(Y/n) entered one of the smaller home made tree, flopping into the bed of leafs. A pleased sigh left from her, feeling a drowsiness she's never really felt. Maybe it was the fact that she'd only ever slept on the stoned ground, but the leafs felt comfortable to lay on.
She didn't bother to take off her boots or cloak. She didn't know when the ninja would arrive, so it'd be best to just stay prepared.
"(Y/n)." The girl let out a small grunt, getting up from her comfort. "What is it that you need, young lord?" She questioned, bowing slightly.
"O-Oh, it's nothing, I was just wondering if maybe I could sleep with you, not that I'm scared, just maybe you're scared, so that's why I'm here." He said.
(Y/n) stood up from her bow, now staring at the boy. "You do not need to hide your intentions, if you are fearful, I will be by your side." She reassured, the boy giving her a pout. "I'm not scared, but since we're both already here, then let's go to sleep."
She sighed, watching the boy take the space on the bed. "If that is what you want." She sat herself right beside the bed, leaning against it as she closed her eyes to rest.
___
The girl watched as the sky changed, seeing the clouds shift in shape, the colors blend with one another. She let out a soft sigh, pushing herself off the railing of the tall tower, only for it to break. "(Y/n)!" The girl flinched, looking back to the boy.
"I did not think the structure was in such bad shape, forgive me." She apologized, the boy only giving a confused expression. "What? Never mind, look look."
He pointed over to a serpent. When the serpent paused, the child pulled a lever, causing the snake to fall. The boy laughed in a fake tone.
"I want more booby traps." He demanded. (Y/n) noticed shadows making their way to the top. "They're trying to cut the supporting vines." She assumed, guiding the child to the nearest exit. "If anyone tries to harm you, use the weapon, I will be with you in a moment."
He looked at her, still confused, but left the treehouse. Soon after, it started to shake, the structure tilting over.
She watched as the Serpentine ran in a panic, unable to help the giggle that left her lips. It reminded her of the Skulkin.
(Y/n) quickly ducked, watching a dagger go past her and impale itself into the wall. "Woah! Kai, we're trying to apprehend him, not kill!" The blue one yelled. The girl yanked the dagger out from the wall, keeping it with her, only angering the red ninja.
The black ninja landed in the middle of the two sides, looking dazed. "Cole, it's about time, let's hurry up and-" Said ninja began walking towards the cloaked girl, placing his scythe in her hand. "Cole! What the heck!" The red one yelled.
(Y/n) turned the earth elemental around to face his team. "Keep them distracted until we're out of sight." She whispered, giving up the dagger. She took a few steps back, watching as the black ninja ran towards them.
She left the broken structure, catching up to the horde of snakes. "Here." Tossing the scythe to the General, she turned to the second in command. "Where are you all headed?" She asked, noticing how they readied their weapons.
"We are taking back the ssstaff, they dessstoyed our home, now let's return the favor." It answered her question, but he didn't acknowledge her at all.
As they began their walk to the home of the ninja, (Y/n) followed. "We don't need the help of a human girl." Skales hissed. She only ignored him, continuing to follow the angered Serpentine.
___
As soon as they made it to the Monastery, everything was getting thrown, broken, ripped. Their anger growing more with every broken item they could get a hold of.
(Y/n) walked inside the estate, wanting the noise to lower.
The inside looked nice, felt comfortable. She entered a meditation room, scrolls scattered on the floor. She noted they were information on other elemental masters.
"Hm." Looking up, she saw a katana that looked similar to her Lord's. Next to that was a photo of a younger version of her Lord and his brother, in the middle stood a woman. "I am in the old man's room." She told herself.
Her Lord had this exact photo back in his chambers in the underworld. Though, he had himself and the old man scratched out, leaving only the woman on the photo. It used to be in a frame, but she had broken it when she was younger. Kruncha lied for her and she evaded punish me, but she still felt guilty for it.
The small trip to memory lane was cut short when she smelled smoke in the air. Panic surged her body as she ran out of the building to find herself surrounded in flames. Just as she was about to run towards the exit, the wall crashed down on itself, the flames creeping closer.
Her legs gave out as fear overtook her. The fear of death donned on her, the fear of disappointing her lord.
She noticed her breath losing control, and as she tried to control it, she's inhaled a lot of smoke. Violently, she coughed, her vision blurred as she was consumed by darkness.
In that darkness, the red mist appeared, that deja vu feeling consuming her. She was unsure what to make of it, and didn't know why this felt familiar.
"Shame." A woman said, annoyance laced in her tone. "I thought you would last longer this time."
Before she could even respond, she felt a jab at her stomach, light blinding her.
Her eyes opened, the Earth dragon above her, the Ice dragon was to her right, blowing cold air into her face, and the Lightning dragon let out a small whimper. She quickly sat up, coughing violently, the Earth dragon lightly jabbing her back.
Her breathing became stable and thoughts soon flooded her mind.
(Y/n) had died, and like a fool, she let it happen. She was an idiot, letting down her guard again. She scratched at her eyes, annoyed at the feeling of tears falling from her. It was pathetic to cry, especially since it was a situation that could have been avoided if she just paid attention to her surroundings.
The Earth dragon jabbed at her again, letting out a whimper. (Y/n) stared at it, her vision a bit blurred from her scratching. "I'm sorry, are my emotions bothering you?" She muttered, forcing herself to her feet. "I'll be taking my leave now, thank you for the help."
As soon as she turned to leave, she was met with a fist to her face. She was knocked to the floor, but only for a second as she immediately got up, getting ready for a fight. It was the five elementals and their Master, the red one being the one who knocked her down. He looked angry.
Just as the fire elemental was ready to make another move, it was grabbed by the Ice dragon. "ARGH! Zane, get your dragon!" He yelled out in frustration. The ice ninja stood there, conflicted on what action he should take, but ultimately decided on trusting his dragon's action leading to the cloaked person's escape.
His two other teammates were about to chase after, but we're stopped by their own dragon's.
(Y/n) paused before jumping over the wall, giving a small smile towards the dragon before leaving.
Once out of sight, the dragons set down the ninja, who were confused, then angered. "You let him escape!" Kai yelled. "They did not cause harm, it was irrational to fight them." He tried to reason, only angering his brother more.
"If you hadn't followed that stupid bird none of this would've happened!" "My high score. . . Gone."
We should take this as a learning experience-" "Our home is destroyed, Zane!" Cole shouted, causing the white ninja to become quiet.
He understands their sorrow, he felt saddened by the destruction of their home too. Nothing being yelled at him held any genuine hatred, they just needed to vent out their frustration. He didn't take it personally, it was fine, he was fine.
Zane let out a small sigh, looking up to the sky, smiling as he saw his raven colored friend.
___
(Y/n) watched the defeated of the hypnotized serpent, his tail transferring to Skales. "No..." The child muttered, the look of hope gone at the lost battle.
Skales took a hold of the staff, admiring the power he held before looking at the two humans. "What should we do with them?" A serpent asked, causing the child to flinch and hide behind the girl.
(Y/n) on the other hand, didn't show what she was currently feeling, which annoyed Skales. He pointed his staff at the two, harshly glaring. "Leave and never return."
The girl clicked her tongue, leaving the tomb, the boy following close behind.
"We're leaving, just like that?" He asked, confused. "They got what they wanted and I got what I wanted." She said, lifting the scythe. "You mean we." He corrected, to which she ignored.
He huffed annoyedly, opening up a map. "Well, I think we should punish them, we're related to pure evil, how dare they mock us!" He hissed. "I am not related to Lord Garmadon." She stated.
"We're going here." He showed her the map, pointing to the destination he wanted to go. She internally groaned when she looked at where he wanted to go. "As you wish, young lord."
He gave her a smile, marching forward.
