And tattered wings.

(Garroth's POV)

"No."

"No?"

"No."

"This is a mistake, boy," Shad growled, leaning in close. I ignored his hand that was still waiting for me to shake. I backed away and shook my head.

"I can survive and be freed without your help."

"Suit yourself," he lowered his hand, "see you soon under different circumstances."

When he left, I felt a breath escape, I closed my eyes and slowly started to breathe. In and out. Slowly meditating to clear my head.

"Oh, and just so you know," he backed up and leaned in close to the cell," I'm attacking tonight," he let out a dark chuckle, then snapped his fingers, "can't have you blabbing on our little secret."

I tried to scream, but nothing came out.

"Oh don't worry, you'll get this back, as soon as the attack starts."

This time, he finally left. I felt panic ensue, and I tried to make as much noise as possible.

But nobody came.

(Aphmau's POV)

Once my kids fell asleep, and I ran out of the house, grabbed Dante, Laurance, Katelyn, Travis, and Vylad. I sat brought them to a small clearing and started talking about them.

"How are things going with the hidden underground base? We need to get there as soon as possible."

"Well it's barely able to be entered, why what's wrong?" Katelyn was the first to notice my worried expression.

"It's just....I think something bad is gonna happen...so I'm really uneasy about being out in the open like we are," I wrung my hands around my wrist and chewed on my bottom lip.

"Well...we could start moving the children and one adult, and then we can work on it in the day while everyone's up here and awake and looking after them," Dante reasoned. I nodded and said a silent thank you.

And then my head felt a sharp pain, I grabbed it and leaned against a wall. But soon, my legs were weak, and I couldn't stand on them.

"Aphmau?!"

I was on my knees, feeling like I could hurl at any given moment. The room was spinning, and I felt the scars on my arms spread as shadows started to swarm. And it was even more dangerous in the night.

"Aphmau! What's wrong?!"

I felt burning tears running down my cheeks, and I could hear everyone around me, but I couldn't respond. I started gasping, feeling like the air was being pulled from my chest.

"What's going on?!"

"APHMAU!"

"SNAP OUT OF IT!"

"APHMAU, IS IT HAPPENING?!"

"IS WHAT HAPPENING?! DO YOU KNOW SOMETHING WE DON'T?!''

"SHE'S BECOMING DARKNESS!"

"DARKNESS?! SHE'S BECOMING DARKNESS?! YOU KNEW AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ANY OF US?!"

"NONE OF THAT MATTERS NOW! WE NEED TO SAVE HER!"

And soon, everything slowed to a halt. And I was breathing heavily. I stared at the abyss that was the forest continuing. And all I saw was the sickening grin and bright blue eyes that stood out against the darkness.

"You're welcome~" I heard him whisper, but I was the only one who heard him.

"APHMAU!" Katelyn was the first to come towards me, she kneeled in front of me and held my shoulders.

"Are you alright?! What was that?!"

"It was...my powers going out of control..." I managed. I felt the world become a hazy blur and I let myself fall into Katelyn's arms. I was tired.

"Let's get her somewhere safe," I heard her say as I was lifted into someone's arms. My eyelids were too heavy for me to keep open, so whoever carried me was a mystery.  But as soon as I felt myself laying on a bed, and I felt the presence leave, I bolted upright and looked around. I was surrounded by stone, and the kids were all sleeping on the same bed on the opposite side. There were some pickaxes in the corner, and a chest. I slowly walked over and looked inside to see it was full of mining material.

This meant I was in the humble beginnings of our underground base. I let out a small sigh, knowing that this was the safest place at the moment,

But for some reason, nothing was sitting well in my stomach. There was a nagging thought in the back of my head, and it was telling me that something bad was happening, and because of my paranoia and recent events, I automatically went to the worst possible conclusion.

My father was attacking sooner than I thought.

I couldn't sit and wait for him to kill so many people. I had to try and save everyone I could.

Without hesitation, I headed towards the exit. I glanced once more at the kids and smiled sadly. I left and went to my hut. I grabbed my favourite sword, and put it in it's sheath. Then I tied my hair into a pony tail, and tightened my boots. I was now wearing some brown pants that ended at my calves and a black long-sleeved shirt. I put on my cloak and pulled the hood over my head.

And then I was ready.

I wrote a quick note explaining where I was, set it on my bed, and ran out.

I was going to save someone.

I started with running into the garden of the castle unnoticed. I hid behind a tree as a guard walked by on patrol. I peaked and saw that they were gone. I made a quick dash for the wall, looking to my left and right to make sure i was alone while I attempted to scale the building. I couldn't use my wings because to let them out would make myself way more noticeable, and they would rip my clothes. I climbed to the second floor and slid into a window. I looked around and noticed I was in Vylad's room. I knew that I was safe as long as I was there.

I sat on the bed and rubbed my temple.

Garroth was a priority, but what was I even doing? There were so many more people that would lose their lives because of my father.

So with a heavy heart, I left to save as many innocent lives as possible.

A/N Another part, that's done by me. I love you all devils, byeeeeeeeeeee.
