And when her halo broke, she carved the two halves into horns.

(Aphmau's POV)
"I'm not going to be able to stop you, am I?" Hyria sighed as she handed me a larger bag, and a smaller one.
"No, but I definitely appreciate that you aren't trying to stop me."
"Well something tells me you'd find a way out eventually...now, in the smaller bag is a bunch of labeled potions to help you. Some for chronic headaches, some for wounds, others for when darkness seems to become overbearing. Take care of yourself, and if you ever need anything, you know how to find me."
I smiled gratefully and gave her an unexpected hug. Hyria laughed a little and let me leave.
I was lost.
That was an understatement. Sure I had gotten out of the forest where Hyria lived, but after that, I had no idea.
Where were they camped now?
Which way was O'Khasis?
I sighed and leaned against a tree, pulling out the map.
I learned that day that I sucked at reading maps.
"Look! Is that the Dark Queen?" My eyes widened and I glanced behind me to see some guards. I quickly jumped, flying into the sky and turning to see the men. They would go back and get word out that I lived....
I grabbed their heads and smashed them together. They passed out, and I placed my hands on their foreheads and closed my eyes. Slowly, I sifted through their thoughts and chose the most recent memories to remove. Once I pulled away, I jumped into the sky and flew as far as I could.
My wings grew tired and I landed on the top of a mountain. I collapsed onto my knees and started to sob.
I wasn't even sure why, but I continued to sob, tears falling at an impeccable speed. Maybe it was the entirety of everything, maybe I just needed to let my emotions out.
The air was colder on top of the mountain, and I had no clue where I was, but at least I was safe.
I curled in a ball, covering myself with my wings for warmth.
(Garroth's POV)
I was moved again, this time in just a normal jail cell that was lined with a spell to contain and control my magic.
I stared blankly at the rocky wall in front of me, counting the cracks in each rock.
"Hi, honey," mother smiled and knelt in front of the bars, smiling the forced smile.
"Hi," I sighed, "you're early today."
"Yes, I am," her tone was quiet.
"Is something wrong?"
"No, nothing you need to worry about," she whispered while straightening out imaginary wrinkles in her dress. She inhaled deeply and picked at her nails. "There's something you'll want to know."
I kept quiet, letting her continue.
"Aphmau was spotted, a few guards were knocked out, but she flew away."
"Aphmau...?" I breathed her name. Mother nodded slowly.
"But they don't know where she went, we're tracking her as we speak."
"Does father know?"
Mother shook her head.
"We don't know if it was really her, it was just a sighting."
I nodded, knowing if father knew about it, things could only go bad.
"How did you find out about it before him?"
"I always learn local news before him," she smiled, "and I'm responsible for him knowing, I get to choose whether or not it's important enough for him to find out."
I wasn't sure how to react to the news. Aphmau was spotted? Why was she here? Why wasn't she in the nether?
But I was hopeful. Hopeful that she would come for me, or find somewhere safe.
As long as she was safe, I was okay.
"So...how do you feel about this?" Mother asked hesitantly, a little afraid to look at me.
"Good."
"Good?"
"I know that she is no longer trapped with her father, that makes me feel good. But I am worried still. Does anyone know what happened to her? That weird power she showed?"
"All we were told is that it was the second stage of her shadow powers. We don't know anything else, I'm sorry honey," she gave one of those pitiful looks, the kind that people give you when you're too young to understand something.
"What do we know about her shadow powers?" I asked, needing answers. I wanted to know what that was, and why on earth she was in such a weird state.
"I'm afraid they wouldn't tell us anything about her newfound powers-"
"WHAT?!" I grabbed the bars of the cell, the anti-magic spell burning my palms. "HOW CAN THEY NOT TELL US?! WE DESERVE TO KNOW! I NEED TO KNOW! I LOVE HER!" I shouted. Mother looked away and let out a depressing sigh. She reached her hands through the cell and cupped my face. She wiped away tears that had fallen without me even realising it. "I love her...."
I began to sob pathetically.
My mother was given a special privilege. She could enter my cell at any time without being affected. Is was mostly because father had written the spell, and made it so she wouldn't get hurt or discouraged in any way. She stepped through, phasing through the metal. She wrapped her arms around me, and I wept into her shoulder. She rubbed small and soothing circles on my back.
I was worried. I was happy, but I was worried.
"It's all going to be okay."
A/N Slightly shorter, but hey, this chapter could only go on for so long before I ran out of things to say in it. I can't sleep. I love you all devils, byeeeeee.
