The demons are back and stronger than ever. They are looking for a fight. Looking to win. And this time, I might just let them

I woke up to the sound of soft humming. Moonlight peered through the small opening in my tent and pierced my eyes.

I slowly walked out and saw The Evil One sitting on a rock, dipping her feet in the water.

"Um..Evil One?"

She jumped

"Oh it's you" she breathed, "and it's Aphmau"

"Whatever, so...what're you doing out here, this late?"

"Couldn't sleep" she shrugged and played with one of the flowers that floated in the water

"How'd you get out of the ropes?"

"Magic" she shrugged, "I'll put them back on in the morning, I couldn't sleep comfortably with them"

"Alright..." I turned and started to walk towards my tent

"Wait!" Magic gripped me and I couldn't move.

"What"

"Why are you wearing a mask?" She asked, hopping off the rock and skipping over to me.

Oh....right....I forgot I wore it. I don't know how I forgot, I always wear it.

"Because I am" I growled. She took her slender fingers and hooked the top of the mask.

"I wonder what your....whole face looks like..." she pondered. I tried to reach for her hands, but her magic kept me refrained.

She started to pull, but I broke from her magic and grabbed her wrist.

"Don't" I tightened my grip, "don't" I glared at her and she didn't tremble a bit under my gaze.

"Touchy touchy~" she sang, "okay. Go back to bed" she patronized. I stifled a growl and went back to my tent.

I wear this to protect me. I wear this to feel secure. I wear this in case there's a gas leak, I wear this so I can hide, even if its just a little bit.

I laid down and stared at the top of my tent. I crossed my arms and pouted.

Screw her

The next day I woke up....well I got up, I didn't get back to sleep.

At the first glimpse of sunlight I got out of the tent and started taking down The Dark Queen's tent. She woke up and rubbed her eye, yawning.

I don't care how damn adorable you look, you better get your sorry butt out of bed and get on that boat

"Time to get up" I grumbled. She sat up and rose an eyebrow.

"But it's so ea-"

"I. Don't. Care."

She rose her hands in defeat and got up

"Alright, alright"

Travis walked out of his tent, yawning and scowling.

"I'm really starting to hate you" Travis groaned.

"Just clean up and get your butts in the boat!"

We cleaned up quickly, and all got on the boat. We set sail and I hung my feet off the side and held onto a rope, I watched the waves whip by and felt the breeze dance with my hair.

"Y'know...I'm not as bad as the books say"

"Quiet, Evil One"

"Again with the names, how....fearsome"

I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"So...why do you need me exactly?"

"Cause you're the most powerful being on this earth that can be reasoned with"

"What do you need me for?" She asked crossing her legs beside me.

"We need you to fight for us, I thought I told you all this"

"Yeah, but sometimes people lie" she had immense hurt in her voice.

Silence fell between us, an awkward silence.

I kept my gaze on the water. Sunlight occasionally reflected off of it, temporarily blinding me for a small moment.

"Well...tell me about this O'Khasis place" her voice changed to a cheerful one, and she shifted to look at me.

"It's the largest village in Ru'an, it's beauty strong, it's power stronger. The people there are kind for the most part, but you'll occasionally meet a rude man here and there, a desperate woman or two. It's ruled by a man known as Garte Ro'Meave, my father, and my mother, Zianna Ro'Meave. Besides myself, two other sons are in the equation, Zane and Vylad Ro'Meave are the two youngest in the Ro'Meave family. O'Khasis is well known for-"

"Okay, relax. Geez, did you recite that to bed every night as a kid instead of praying?" She joked.

Yes, it's been implanted into my mind from a very young age

"Please refrain from tapping into my personal life"

She rolled her eyes.

"Wanna see something cool?"

"Not really"

Without warning, The Dark Queen jumped off the edge. Right before she touched the water, her wings pulled her into the air, doing a back flip. She giggled at my wide eyes and waved a hand in front of my face.

"You're so tense"

"And you're so irresponsible"

She waved her hand, turning around and started flying on her back.

"I love it out here" she breathed.

"I thought you said you'd tie yourself up again" I grumbled

"You rushed us so fast on the boat, I never got the chance"

I rolled my eyes and leaned on one of the poles, crossing my arms.

"Don't be such a stick in the mud!" She laughed and picked me up by my hands.

"W-what're you doing?!" I squirmed.

"Don't squirm! I don't wanna drop you!" She giggled some more, "hold on to me so you can see without me worrying about you falling"

I grudgingly held her waist and she rolled her eyes playfully, she pressed her body against mine and fixed my arms so I was holding her fully. She had her arms around my neck, and she was grinning. I made note of her cute little fangs.

"Look around! Isn't the view amazing!"

I looked around and I could see the sapphire ocean, and the boat.

"What's so amazing about a clear ocean and nothing else?" I huffed.

The Dark Queen lowered me down and we landed on the deck of the boat.

"You can let go now" she smiled.

"What if I want to stay like this!"

Well....maybe disagreeing with everything she says isn't a good thing...

"You do?" She teased. I pulled away from her.

"Put your rope on" I pushed past her and into the small cabin.

Well that was embarrassing

A/N I'm loving writing this book! I'm trying to write a lot in advance, I did this for the Travlyn book too.
Some of you might be wondering where I've been....my extended family has come to visit and I can only have time to post prewritten parts. Sorry. The other books are on unofficial hold.
Anyways, I love you all devils. Byeee
