The next day I felt as empty and hollow as the one before.

I felt like I was walking through life in a haze.

I got out of bed and went outside.

And what I saw was....

...incredible.

Almost every person was using an ability, and they looked so cool. Even though each person was insanely different, they all seemed to get along and their power combined into one beautiful mess of magic.

"Hey," Travis greeted, "you ready for your first magic lesson today?"

"I guess, who's my teacher?"

"Oh you'll love her, you haven't met her yet, but you will get along great. You have a lot in common."

I sighed and nodded.

"When and where?"

"Now, and follow me."

I followed Travis through the forest until we reached a large tree. He started to climb and gestured me to follow him. We got to the top of the tree, where there was a platform, and saw a familiar pair of black wings with smoke at the bottom instead of feathers. Raven black hair danced with the wind as she sat cross legged in the air, meditating. Her back was towards us, but I could easily tell who it was.

Aphmau...?

She turned around and giggled.

"Hi, Garroth," she straightened her legs, but continued to fly. "Miss me?" Her smile showed her fangs, but they were no longer cute. They looked evil, and seemed to drip with venom. She's a snake.

Aphmau used you, Garroth. She never actually loved you.

"No."

"Yeah right, I saw you visit my grave everyday."

I crossed my arms and avoided looking at her.

"And I heard everything you would say....and I saw you at my funeral."

"It was all an act," I growled, becoming distant.

"Well I'm glad our feelings are mutual," she set her feet on the ground, walking over to me. "So, I'm your magic teacher, you have to listen to me for once."

I drew in a sharp breath, nodding slowly.

"Jump off this tree."

"What?! Are you insane?!"

"Very, now go."

"But-"

"Go!"

I balled my fists and dove off the tree, weaving the air around me to make my descension slower and less harsh. I got to the ground, only to see she was already there. She rose a brow as I looked at her.

"You were slow, do better next time. Follow me."

I followed her through the forest into an opening, she kneeled down and tightened the laces on her combat books.

"What now?"

"Fight me," she rose her hand, summoning me towards her.

"F-fight you?!"

"Yes."

"I won't."

"You will," she punched some black flames towards me, and I had to dodge.

"No!"

"Yes!" She held me in place with magic, lifting her hand and black smoke rose and grabbed me. It slowly started to wrap around me, suffocating me. "Fight. Back." She growled.

But I refused to. Before the smoke could enter my lungs, it disappeared and I fell to the ground, coughing and wheezing.

"You''re weak," she scoffed.

"I won't fight you..." I whispered.

"Oh yeah? Why? Because you still love me?" She ticked her tongue in disgust.

"No," I fought the words that wanted to escape, "I never did," I wouldn't give her the satisfaction of my suffering.

"You're lying, Ro'Meave."

"I love you as much as you love me."

I got off the ground, pushing past her and leaving towards the small village.

I sat down on the front steps of my hut. I weaved my hands in my hair and let out a frustrated sigh. It was mid-day, and the birds were singing their mating calls, and the wind ran through the leaves in the trees.

Aphmau walked past me, her combat boots snapping twigs as she glared at me. Katelyn ran up and hugged her, and Aphmau's facial expression changed from anger to glee. They grinned and talked about stuff I couldn't hear. They giggled and ran off.

I inhaled sharply and went to find Zoey. She was talking with Laurance, and then he walked off. I tapped her shoulder and she turned around.

"Oh! Garroth!" She grinned, "to what do I owe the pleasure?"

"We need to talk."

She nodded and grabbed my hand, pulling me down a path. We slowed to a walk side by side, our hands still intertwined.

"So..." I sighed.

"So..." she matched my tone, but added a small giggle.

(Aphmau's POV)

I shouldn't be doing this....

I bit my lip and hovered over the ground so there was no noise. Soundlessly, I followed far behind Garroth and Zoey. I couldn't help myself, I had to know what was gonna happen. I hid behind trees, following them and watching and listening intently.

"You look good, by the way," he started, smiling at her.

"Thanks, you look as handsome as ever."

"Thanks....you still wear the ring..." He mused.

"Yeah, just a pleasant reminder of us," I inhaled sharply.

"So are we still a thing?" He asked, seeming to ponder the question himself.

"Not sure, seeing you again has brought back so many emotions, you don't even understand," she laughed some more, adoring his presence. I pressed the inside of my cheek with my tongue.

"I think I do understand, because the same thing happened when I saw you again," they stopped in the path, turning to each other and holding hands.

"So should we give this another shot?" Zoey questioned.

"Yeah," he nodded, "I think we should."

My heart started to pound violently against my chest as the tears made their way to pool my eyes. He cupped her jaw, rubbing her cheek with his thumb. My breathing became unsteady as their heads started to near. I watched as he leaned forward just like he did with me. Their lips touched, and that seemed to stab at me. I couldn't watch any longer, I had to run away.

I flew as fast as I could and only stopped when I got into my home in the trees. I dived into my bed, stuffing my face in the pillow.

"Oh Aph, you're...home...what's wrong?!" Katelyn rushed over to me, rubbing my back soothingly.

"It sucks, Kate. It sucks that I told myself it wouldn't hurt, and it still does."

"Oh...you're talking about Garroth..."

"Of course I'm talking about Garroth! I told myself that I would back off for Zoey's sake, give her a one hundred percent chance at having her love back. I told myself to stop. I told myself I shouldn't of gotten attached. But I can't help but to be in so much pain, it hurts. So. Much." I sobbed as she held me, patting my hair.

I knew I shouldn't have done that...

A/N You shouldn't have done that...BEN drowned anyone? No? Okay, nevermind. ANYWAYS, so Aphmau is alive, OH COME ON YOU GUYS KNOW I WOULDN'T KILL SOMEONE OFF LIKE THAT AND NOT HAVE IT AT LEAST BE CANON FIRST! Ye of little faith, gotta say though, I really enjoyed watching you all suffer for the past three chapter. But yes, Aphmau is back, and she still loves Garroth. I always have something up my sleeve. I love you all devils byeeee.
