Chapter 2: Settling In
(Time Skip brought to you by the cute lolita-looking waitress from this morning...) (The pic above is the house that you'll be staying in^)
After driving around Jasper for a few more minutes, the small family then finally arrive at the place that they were going to be moving into, with the (hair color)-colored hair teen pulling up and carefully backing the truck into the empty driveway to unhook the trailer from the truck's tailgate as a young woman in her late thirties with brown-colored hair and bright amber-colored eyes stood outside on the sidewalk near the large house that was decorated with various colors of brown, wearing a baggy gray-colored shirt, a long brown-colored skirt that reach down just below her knees, and some silver-colored open-toe flats. (picture of the woman, but with amber-colored eyes instead of purple--->)
(Her outfit (sorry about the picture)--->)
Once the (hair color)-colored hair teen had parked her truck and had started getting out of it, the woman then began to walk over, a kind smile etched onto her soft features.
"Hello once again, sweetie," the woman says in a kind, motherly tone, stopping a few inches away from the driveway as she waved at the (hair color)-colored hair teen. "I hope that your travel to here wasn't too much trouble..."
This made the (hair color)-colored hair teen shook her head, closing the driver's door behind her as she began speaking to the older woman before her in sign language.
"It was fine. Nothing bad had happened," she signed, moving out of the way and watching from the corner of her eye as the twins step out of the truck with their bag of breakfast and bottle of juice in hand and quickly went over to stand next to her, with one standing in front of her out of protectiveness (the boy) and the other standing closely next to her out of shyness (the girl). "Can you bring these two inside for me? I need to unhook the chain from the tailgate and park the truck in a proper spot before bringing our stuff inside."
"Of course, dear," the older woman says softly, walking over to where she was at a closer proximity as she calmly held out her hands for the twins to grab onto, whom responded silently by being slightly hesitant of the older woman before allowing her to hold onto their hands. "I'm guessing that....you've already explained the situation to them when coming here?"
The (hair color)-colored hair teen nodded her head, knowing what the older woman had meant by that. "Yes ma'am. Is there any room left in one of the garages?"
"Yes, there is plenty of room. I'm guessing you'll be putting your motorcycle and your truck in there?" the older woman asks.
The (hair color)-colored hair teen nodded her head once more, going over towards the back of the truck to get started unhooking the chain from the tailgate when the older woman then remembered something.
"Oh, and don't you worry about the trailer. I'll go and take it to the storage unit facility area tomorrow morning when I head off for work."
This made the (hair color)-colored hair teen use her dominant to raise a thumbs up towards her way, indicating to the older woman that she had understood what told to her as the teen continued on doing what she was doing while the older woman brought the twins inside her cozy home. (Time Skip brought to you by your lovely caretaker...)
Once the truck was moved to sit beside the trailer and everything in it was put away into their proper places, the (hair color)-colored hair teen then began to stretch out her limbs, hearing the satisfying sounds of her bones popping from her movement as she then headed on over towards the aforementioned house; her bag of breakfast and cup of coffee in hand.
As she stepped inside through the house's front door and gently closed it behind her, she then looked around the place that she'll be living in, her emotionless features never changing as she put her coffee down on a shelf that was nearby to lightly graze her slender (skin color)-colored fingers across the cream-colored walls, a look of rememberance hidden behind her emotionless gaze. (picture of the hallway, just without the stuff on the dresser (except a vase of fake flowers), it's a little smaller, the floor is wooden and a brown color, and there were a few family/friends pictures hanging on the walls besides those pictures--->)
'Smooth...just like before,' she says in her thoughts, a small memory flashing through her empty (eye color)-colored eye(s) for a split second before shaking her head as she knelt down to take off her shoes and put them in the aforementioned shelf, forcing the memory to be put aside in the back of her mind. 'Too bad my times here were short lived...'
After setting her shoes aside, the (hair color)-colored hair teen then headed off towards the living room area, where she then sat down on the soft cushions of the living rooms cream-colored couch as she watched her siblings play with their unboxed toys, putting her food and beverage on the coffee table next to the others. (picture of the living room, but the walls being a cream color and the wooden floor is brown to match the style--->)
After a few minutes of silently watching, the older woman from before then walked into the living room, having to have finished a phone call that she needed to take care of as she then sat herself down next to the quiet (hair color)-colored hair teen, her amber-colored eyes also looking over at the twins before them.
"It's good to have you back, (Name)," the older woman says softly, turning her head a bit to look over at the (hair color)-colored hair teen beside her as she gave the teen a saddened smile. "I really did missed you..."
This made the (hair color)-colored hair teen (now known as "(Name)") fully turn her head to look back at the older woman next to her, her facial expression (although hidden behind the mask) still being emotionless as she signed to the older woman.
"The feeling is...mutual, Ms. Jewel. And...I thank you, for taking me and my family into your beautiful home. Even after all that has happened..."
The older woman's (now known as "Ms. Jewel") smile saddened even more as she scooted over and gave the taller female a warm hug. "You are most welcome, sweetheart."
However, instead of returning the hug, (Name) just sat there, seemingly frozen by the sudden hug that was just given to her as Ms. Jewel quickly let go.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I forgot that you get a little haphephobic when it comes to being touched..." Ms. Jewel says, realizing what she had just done as (Name) went back to her calm demeanor and signed to the older woman.
"It's alright, Ms. Jewel. You've done nothing wrong. Just...'in the moment', that's all."
Ms. Jewel nodded her head at the teen before looking down at the wooden floorboards, an even sadder look residing on her young-looking features. "I understand..."
It then went silent after that, leaving for Ms. Jewel to turn on the TV with the remote control to distract themselves from the awkward atmosphere as the two females looked towards the wide screen to see what was on, the breakfast that sat on the coffee table left discarded by the teen and the two children.
