Malleable and growing in waves
directed and affected
by exogenous
and endogenous aides

the spirit relays
the struggle
as it plays out
on the stage

in a world
disillusioned
with inner selves
and forays

into deep pools
of reflection

Yet I mount
this insurrection
with the greatest
of introspection

at the urging
and direction
of my empty
affections

for a world
I barely know

So I let go
and watch
my wandering spirit
as it grows

apart from
what it used to be
