Jarvis juinor pt 2

So part one actually got a three votes/comments within a few hours, meaning that it is the same day, but I am posting part two. This is awesome - thank you!

Peter had been surprised, to say the least. The shock hadn't hit him until he'd been lying in his bunk bed. He'd met Tony Stark.
The next day he was pretty distracted. At 3:30 he'd left the school as in a trance, and without noticing he'd even walked, he found himself in front of Stark Tower. He slowly took a step towards the entrance.
"Peter Parker?" A guy next to the door asked. Peter nodded, not sure what to say. The man opened the door, allowing him in. He found himself a seat in the waiting area where a few chairs were placed here and there, and much to his pleasure, an extension cord, meaning he could plug up his computer and get to work.
Did places like this usually have extension cords lying around?

"Peter," Tony said surprised. He wasn't sure why he was so surprised. The kid needed internet for his assignment, so he really shouldn't be.
"Oh, h-hey, Mr Stark," Peter greeted with a warm smile, looking up from his computer as Tony casually passed by on his way out.
"Who was that?" Pepper questioned quietly.
"Peter. He doesn't have internet at home, so I'm letting him stay while he finishes his assignment," he explained with a shrug.
"I found him out by the lawn," he continued; "I said he could sit in the lobby today."
"That was nice of you," Pepper decided after a minute or two; "I'm sure he really appreciate it."
Tony shrugged but didn't reply.

"Peter? I thought you would've finished your assignment already?" Tony asked, looking at the kid with his computer in his lap, all plugged up to the extension cord he'd told the receptionist to leave for him.
"I-I did, but I got it all wrong, a-and I figured it was ok-okay if I-""It's completely okay," Tony assured him, glancing at the clock at the wall. His next meeting wasn't for 45 minutes, but he'd rather be a little late than far too early. He'd actually been heading out for a quick lunch, but he supposed he could skip it without it being a big deal.
"What's the assignment on?" he questioned.
"We-we're supposed to program our own robot," Peter admitted.
"What kind?" Tony inquired, sitting down next to Peter to look at the screen where coding was written.
"An AI. This is Jax," Peter introduced, clicking into the chat field.
"Jax?" Tony asked. Peter nodded as he typed into the field.

Explain your name

"Why don't you just say it?" Tony asked as he saw the words appear on the screen.

My name is a wordplay. Jax is short for Jackson - Jack's on, a joke on the fact that I am always here.

"He's not so good with verbal commands," Peter admitted with a shrug.
"That sounds like a lot of trouble," Tony mumbled, looking through the coding.
Granted, it was simple, and honestly, quite flawed, but nonetheless it was impressive how the teenager in front of him had managed to build this on his own.
"Yeah, but I can't really work the coding out, plus I need a voice for him and I haven't been able to find any volunteers."
"You know, if you want you can come down to my lab and have a look at Jarvis' codes," Tony shrugged, not facing the teenager he was looking at him with big eyes.
"Really?"
"Well, only for a bit," Tony assured him; "I'm a busy man."
The elevator ride down had been tense to say the least. Tony had stood with his hands in his pockets while Peter had his backpack over both shoulders, holding it tightly with his hands. As the elevator doors opened, Tony immediately entered and went towards the big screen.
"Jarvis, pull up your coding," he ordered, grabbing a cordless keyboard on his way.
"Right away, sir."
"So he activates when you say his name?" Peter questioned, looking around the lab with big eyes, carefully eyeing every little piece on the work tables, the blueprints on the holographs and the pictures on the screens.
"No, he's always active. It took a while, but now he almost always understands when he's being spoken to," Tony explained as the codes appeared on the screen. The white letters contrasted to the black background as Tony continued; "yeah, I'll need your voice commands on the other screen, too."
"So cool," Peter whispered, looking at the screen.
"Get your computer out, let's take a look at it," Tony offered, moving a few things to the side so there was room on a work desk.
Peter carefully got his computer up and placed it on the table before opening the screen.
"Here, plug this in." Tony handed Peter the cord which he looked curiously at before doing as told.
"I've gained access to a new device, sir. What would you like me to do with it?"
"Wait, so JARVIS can speak to you without you speaking to him first? How does that work?" Peter asked, getting too caught up to be nervous.
"Yeah, pull Jax' coding up on screen three," Tony demanded, ignoring Peter. He opened what to Peter seemed like a junk drawer and quickly searched through it. Pulling out another keyboard, he mumbled something about it 'having to do' before plugging it into the screen and handing it to Peter who graciously accepted it.
"Here. It's not the best technology in the tower but it's better than the rock you call a computer," he joked, pointing to a part of the coding; "I think this is the problem. He's been programmed to turn the mic off."
"Wait, so how do I turn it on?"
Tony had explained it in short terms to Peter before claiming he was going to get something and heading out. He'd left the lab - after glancing at the kid one last time - and instead found himself in the hallway.
"JARVIS, I'll need you to reschedule that meeting for another day," he said loudly.
"Pepper told me to tell you that the meeting is important, sir. She says you are only to cancel in case of an absolute emergency," Jarvis stated. Tony looked through the door, glancing over Peter who was sitting on the edge of the black leather chair Tony had pushed his way a little earlier, working on his project.
"Well, good thing I'm not cancelling, then. Just rescheduling," he reminded Jarvis before going back in.

"Look what I found," Tony greeted, making Peter look up.
"What's that?" He asked curiously, looking at the usb microphone in Tony's hands.
"I thought we could add voice recognition to Jax," he explained, plugging in the mic.
"What good will that do when he can't reply?" Peter asked, looking at the table stand holding the microphone.
"You just need to get someone to voice him," Tony replied, waving it off; "ask your dad or something."
"My dad's dead," Peter stated monotonously.
"Cool, mine too," Tony replied casually; "some other relative then."
"It's just me and aunt may, and she said no," the orphan explained, not sounding even upset. Tony sighed.
"A friend then."
"My best friends in my robotics class, too, and we're not allowed to help each other on our projects," he explained.
"What? What logic is that based on?!"
"Well, it's kind of a competition. The winner gets enough money for next years study trip, and if I don't win I don't get to go. I'm pretty sure Ned is purposely screwing up, but if he helps me we're both disqualified," Peter rambled on while Tony was leaning over the table to look at the screen.
"Right, so what are the demands for the project?" Tony questioned, making sure Peter had gotten the usb in properly.
"It has to be able to reply when I say hi as well as send a message and call someone," Peter explained, eyeing Tony's movements.
"Well, that's easy then. What do you have left?" Peter pretended to consider for a second before listing up.
"I still need him to be able to talk as well as be able to send messages and make calls."
"Should be simple. Try saying hi a few times, I've set him up to record," Tony explained, correcting the microphones placement.
"Not really," Peter admitted; "my computer can't exactly make calls and my phone was found in a dumpster so it's not much good either."
He turned to the microphone, and unsurely grabbed it with his right hand.
"Hi. Hello, hey, hi, hi Jax," he blabbered.
"You need a new phone then. Type in the replies you want him to use when you say hi," Tony mumbled, not focusing as he was typing on a keyboard of his own. Peter shrugged.
"Phones are expensive. And I'm just gonna say 'hi Peter,'," Peter added, typing it in.
"Make him call you Mr Parker," Tony advised.
"Why?"
"Because it's cool."

Okay if I say three votes/comments there's a chance I'll have to post a third chapter today and at that speed, I'll run out pretty soon. Therefooooore, I'm saying five this time!
